I enjoyed this romance. I am a sucker for a good romance and this book fit great. How crazy is it that the matchmaker has trouble finding love? Well this book gives you that. I would recommend this to others.

I liked this book and Ms. Flockton does a terrific job of developing the characters and plot; and who doesn't like a book with a dog??

The Matchmaker’s Match is the third and final book in Nicole Flockton’s Man’s Best Friend series set in San Antonio, Texas. These stories are light and easy reading and just a touch sexy, though for me it is the dogs that carry the stories . In this one the stars of the show are Buster, a cute and fluffy Pomeranian, and Mack, a Malenois, though it is Buster who truly wiggled his way into my heart.
I loved that tough guy former soldier Lincoln Forrest would fall for a dog like that when he’s spent most of his working life with larger and much more macho breeds. That the girl he had a one night stand with and who turned out to be the best friend of his best friend’s new wife also happened to fall for Buster was a lovely touch and one that brought these two together beautifully.
This story is fast paced and thoroughly engaging. Both Mere and Linc have issues to deal with and misconceptions to overcome, but it is these road bumps that make for a good read and this story really is that. It’s warm and engaging and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I liked this romance between Meredith and Lincoln. The couple met in a bar in San Diego when she had returned from a year in Guatemala and he had gotten out of the military. Both agreed to a one night stand and went their separate ways. A few months later they are surprised to meet again as partners in their best friends’ wedding. Meredith isn’t feeling well and Lincoln takes her to an ER to learn that she has an ectopic pregnancy from their one night together. The two start to bond. The next day both end up at a dog shelter wanting to adopt the same dog. They are sent away for their acting out but Lincoln goes back and adopts the dog. When he sees how disappointed she is, he gifts her with the dog. As the book progresses we see them getting closer and falling in love. However they suffer from repeated misunderstandings and fears. The author has written a wonderful story with lots of surprises, chemistry and a HEA. I definitely give it 5 stars.

I enjoyed this sweet romance. It was fast paced and engaging. The characters were great and I felt invested in their happily ever after. What could have been a typical plot turned into something else. I found it an interesting twist that was well written and handled with care. I would read more by this author.

I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love checking out new authors this way for starters and I would read this author again and pay for it, so that says a lot.

The story was cute, hot, predictable but still a fun read. I felt the characters were likable and the character building was adequate, but not overdone. Probably due to the predictability of the story, it won’t stand out in my mind for a huge long time, but I will still check for more from this author in the future.

The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton
Could the best man be her best option?
The last person Meredith Turner expects to see at her best friend’s wedding rehearsal dinner is the guy she had a one night stand with. What’s worse, Lincoln Forrest is the best man and as maid of honor, her partner. To add insult to injury, she has to leave the rehearsal dinner early, and Lincoln is the one to help her with a deeply personal problem. The aftermath of that night brings big changes for them both.
Lincoln Forrest has helped his best friend meet the woman of his dreams, but recently he’s made a series of bad decisions, the biggest being leaving his career with the Army. Now the former K-9 handler is looking for a new career and trying to get his life back on track. Helping Meredith in her time of need connects her to him more than he expected. On a mission to right the wrong he created, Linc will do whatever is needed. But when the attraction that first drew them together flares to life again, will the obstacles between them be too much to overcome? Or has the matchmaker met his match?
This is Meredith Turner and Lincoln Forrest's story.
Friday night and this crowded hotel bar in San Diego was hopping. After living in a small, Guatemalan town for a year, where the loudest noise she’d experienced were the screams of howler monkeys, Meredith Turner paused to adjust to the volume.
This is exactly what I need.
The need to immerse herself in a group of people who didn’t know her or expect her to be the life of the party filled her. She was in town only for the night before her flight back to San Antonio in the morning. Back to a different life than the one she’d thought she’d return to.
He shifted his stool a little closer to hers, again bringing their legs in contact. “I’m about to embark on a new job. I’m looking forward to new experiences.”
“Cool, what’s the job?”
“I’m about to join a new security firm. What about you? What are you doing here?”
The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton is a 3 star book.

Meredith and Linc kick their story off with a real bang. This book grabs you and hangs on. These characters along with the secondary players are very real. The story is so real that you want to smack Meredith a time or two. The writing is good, the story flows and easy to read.

Sometimes one night stands don’t remain in the past. Especially when there is a definite spark between two people and fate seems to intervene to bring them together once again in unexpected circumstances.

THE MATCHMAKER’S MATCH is an emotional romance on many levels. It also has a touch of angst, personal loss, along with unexpected complications. Linc and Meredith are so right for each other, the sparks between them fly off of the page. But there is pain there as well, again on different levels for them each individually and together. I was easily caught up in their lives while enjoying glimpses of old book friends from the earlier books in this series. I adored Buster – one scene-stealing and heart stealing little pup that you cannot help but fall in love with.

I had fun with this one. It broke my heart in some ways and easily healed it back by the happy ever after ending. If you love a romance that goes a bit deeper into personal lives and consequences of actions then you’ll love THE MATCHMAKER’S MATCH or the entire series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

The Matchmaker’s Match is the third in the Man’s Best Friend Romance series and as good as the other two. Two struggling people, struggling with their lives and with each other, are just meant to be, destined and fated by a solitary night together that was supposed to be a one up. Meeting again, they are thrown together by circumstances of both pain and joy.
This is an engaging story of their struggles and of the cutest dog ever, Buster, who knows they all belong together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Matchmaker's Match is the third book in the Man's Best Friend series by Nicole Flockton. While there are recurring characters in the series, each book can be fully enjoyed as a stand alone as well. This book is currently scheduled for release on June 18 2019.

The Matchmaker's Match is a sweet romance where the biggest conflicts are Meredith and Linc dealing with their own history, doubts, and mistakes. I liked Meredith's character, and even when I did not agree with her decisions I could understand her thought process and how she got there. With Linc, I just liked his character. He is a good guy that is going through a huge transition in life and trying o find his way. I enjoyed seeing them find each other, support each other, and ultimately find their HEA. I will admit that there were moments where it all felt too simple, too easy for our couple. However, I still really enjoyed the read and often found myself smiling as I read, so it was a winner. Most of all, I found myself interested in some of the secondary characters, so going back to read the one book I missed, and reading the next book (which I hope features Linc's sister) are on my to do list.

The Matchmaker's Match is a heart warming contemporary romance. I was nice to see two characters at a crossroads in their lives find their way together.

Trope: one night stand to forever
Cover rating: I like what the cover is going for but I get stuck on the animatronic looking dog- it’s just making me think of Salem in Season 1 of Sabrina The Teenage Witch!
Book description accuracy: accurate but glosses over the content warnings in a big (and IMO dangerous) way. “Time of Need” really means detailed telling of ectopic pregnancy & medical termination. Sorry if you don’t want that spoiler but if I had known that was in the book I would not have picked this up. Hits way too close to home.
General review: I want to emphasize that this is a 2 star book for me personally because of how heavy the content is. Had I known all the content warnings in advance, I would never have requested this ARC and would never pick this up on my own. I prefer happy escapism in my books- especially romance. The writing itself was great- the pace was good, I could connect with the characters and the way the heavy content is handled really puts you in their position. If the content is triggering in any way, like it is for me, then it makes for a horrible experience but for those who don’t mind a little sad with their HEA this is a good pick. For the writing I would consider this a 3 star, but I really just wanted the book over ASAP so it knocks it down a star for me. I also don’t think I’ll be picking up the rest of the series as this book hints at the content warnings for the other books: death of a spouse, a disability requiring a service animal
Angst style: cheating misunderstanding
POV: third person, both H & h
Relationship stage reached: married, child; in epilogue
Epilogue? yes

Content warnings: one night stand pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, medical termination, job ghosting, life after military, cheating

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. #TheMatchmakersMatch #NetGalley
