What can I say about this one? It was ok, it was cute. Slow at parts and predictable but a sweet read. Thank you to netgalley for the arc.

I received a copy of The Matchmaker's Match by Nicole Flockton from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, this novel missed the mark for me even though the author DOES have a way with words. I felt that the plot should have been interesting given the story's summary, but the plot wasn't evenly paced (everything was sort of smooched) and the main characters' chemistry was just not believable.

I'd give The Matchmaker's Match by Nicole Flockton 3 stars.

Lincoln has left the military and on his way to San Diego for a new job and recovering from a failed relationship, meets the lovely Meredith in a hotel bar. Neither is looking for a romantic connection, but the instant chemistry is impossible to ignore, and a wild and steamy one-night stand ensues.

However, fate is a fickle thing, and a month late they cross paths again and need to decide if the chemistry that ignited their one night of passion, can lead to something more permanent and meaningful. Emotional baggage, standing at life’s crossroad, and second guessing what the future holds, will all contribute to their final decision. But it just might be an adorable rescue dog that balances the scales.

The Matchmaker's Match is the third book in Nicole Flockton’s Man’s Best Friend series and is an interesting story filled with chemistry, banter and some emotional heartache, but the outcome will make the reading so worthwhile.

I'm a new Nicole Flockton reader. Well, not like brand-new-never-heard-of-her reader, but new as in I've-only-read-her-Stoker's-World-books. So, yeah. :) And because I've read her books related to the Susan Stoker Special Forces World, I knew I wanted to read some of her other books. So, while I'm not a new-new reader, I'm a gently seasoned new reader :).

So, about "The Matchmaker's Match". It was just so....like watching the surf roll and ebb into the shore. It was gentle and sweet, angst-y and dramatic, and bittersweet and beautiful. It was a wonderful story. Like a day spent watching the shoreline, reading this book was a day well spent. Mrs. Flockton's characters (Linc, not Luke and Meredith, sometimes Tink) are substantial and real. They're people you can imagine knowing. You want to follow them and know their stories. You want to take your shoes off and walk along the shoreline of their world. This book gave equal measure to both the Hero and the Heroine. You could, figuratively speaking, pick up the pieces of the characters like picking up seashells.

And also? Get this! 'The Matchmaker's Match' actually isn't the first book in the series! Yeah! I know, right?! There's two stories before 'The Matchmaker's Match'. So, that's fun. I'll be sure to go back and read the first two

Disclaimer for those that need disclaimers: I was gifted a copy of this ARC book from Netgalley. I was bored a few nights ago and raged thru Netgalley requesting all sorts of books. This book was the first that came through. I've got 4 more to go. (lesson learned on my part: don't go strolling through the books late at night)

*Fair warning spoiler alert!*

I was a bit disappointed with this one. From the beginning the conversation between Meredith and Lincoln felt stiff and trite. Both feeling the attraction but the connection was missing. And then things quickly unraveled where she founds out she's pregnant, loses the baby and the next morning she's trying to buy a dog. What the hell happened? Things moved way too quickly. Lincoln while admirely decent guy is plain vanilla even the lovemaking was a snore fest. Just not a compelling romance.
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have come to enjoy this series and this story was just as engaging and entertaining.
The story revolves around Meredith Turner and Lincoln Forrest.
Lincoln, recently left the Army and was in San Diego, supposedly for a new job. Meredith was on her way home, when they met by chance in a hotel bar in San Diego. Neither expected the immediate chemistry. After spending the night together, each went their separate ways.
A month later they meet again at a wedding rehearsal of mutual friends. Fate brings them together, and an experience bonds them, but both are at a crossroad in their lives. Neither sure what the future will bring.
In the midst of their dilemma , we have a cute rescued dog, and friends that want them together.
A sweet romance worth your time.
I was entrusted a copy of this story by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Lincoln and Meredith met by chance and were surprised when they ended up being maid of honor and best man at their friends wedding!

They had a long road to their HEA as they dealt with many difficult situations and struggled to overcome some past issues.

Wow, really wanted to hate Linc when he went back to adopt Buster but then he did a great thing and (SPOILER) gave Meredith the dog.

I loved their story and especially their HEA! Hope we will see more with April in another book.

3.5 stars
This is the first book in this series that I have read. You don't have to read the series in order or at all to get into this book.

Link and Meredith have a weird story. I was a little thrown by it. Not really romantic, more odd. The story was ok.

The latest in this enjoyable series, this is the story of Linc and Meredith.

After a chance encounter and a one night stand, they are surprised to see each other at the wedding of their best friends. He played matchmaker for their friends, but has he finally met his match? He didn't think he wanted a family or committment but starts to wonder when he spends more time with Meredith.

I have not read the rest of the books in this series but this is another romance and a second chance one at that and I am a sucker for romance so to me this was okay but like I said I didn’t read the rest of them so I was a little lost along the way but all In all a romance is a romance

The Matchmaker's Match by Nicole Flockton. I've enjoyed each of the books in this series so far with it's characters and the animals. The Matchmaker's Match is a second chance at possible romance storyline. I look forward to more in this series in the future.

This is Meredith and Lincoln’s book, Lincoln is ex army k9 handler and is looking for a new career and trying to get his life back on track. Meredith is a teacher and she’s back in town to go to her best friends wedding and she’s moving back to town also. The last person she expects to see at her best friends wedding rehearsal dinner is a guy she had a one night stand with! What’s worse is that he’s the best man and her being the maid of honor! This book was a little different for me, it was an OK read I just didn’t like a couple things with the whole baby thing it was just a little weird for me LOL but It was still a decent read and I’m sure there’s quite a few people that will like it a lot it just wasn’t my top favorite. Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Loved this third in a terrific series! I’ve a soft spot for a story with a pet and the Buster storyline added to this book’s charm. Linc and Meredith meet in a bar and have what seems to be a one night stand - she even misheard his name. To say that they are shocked to find themselves maid of honor and best man at their best friends’ wedding is an understatement. The story adds a unique and heart wrenching twist to the “unintended consequences of one night stands” trope that the author handles very thoughtfully. This is a lovely story of two people at a crossroads finding something unexpected and powerful.
