I didn’t find much new in the pages, but then I have already focused on these aspects, investing time and effort to better understand who I am, and what I can bring as a leader in an ever-changing environment. To be clear on the goals and the progress being made is essential as it is to recognise the importance of acting as a whole, rather than looking at only one aspect in isolation of the others. Many topics are covered in the book, for me the treatment felt relatively superficial compared to the list of activities at the end of each section.

I concur that this is a journey rather than a destination.

With thanks to NetGalley, Page Two Books and the author for my free copy to review in exchange for an honest opinion.

When the world says to value this or that, or "everybody" thinks certain things are worthwhile, this book brings the reader back into "alignment" with their own self and values. Remember what matters in the long run....

I have learned that emotional intelligence can be applied to ourselves and our inner world. This is so right. We try to apply so many things to outside world and what about us? Align with yourself to make easier decisions - applied to me so much. The whole book is the journey of self discovery. I liked the reflection parts. They help to apply information from each chapter to your own situation.

A great book, that really does hold a mirror up to you, and asks you, do you like what you see? The thread through the book is asking you whether you are living your life aligned to what your values, and beliefs are. This is something that we all too easily lose sight of, and can often wonder why parts of our life feel us less than satisfied.

Each part ends with a "Reflection" section, which gives the ideal pause for thought moments, before pressing ahead in to the book.

I would highly recommend this book.

A great book geared toward corporate execs looking to find their purpose and realize their dreams. Quite inspiring. A lot of this is advice I already follow, so I know how much it rings true.
