This was a first chapter teaser... to give you a glimpse of what to expect. To be honest it did leave me wanting more.

They say you should never judge a book by its cover and this case I’d say the same for the first chapter.

Lady Gwyn Drake appears a flawed character at the advanced age of thirty she also appears to lack the common sense of her years and by that I mean her meeting up with her blackmailer and it nearly ended badly if not for the hero Joshua Wolfe. I see a lot of promise in the story. I just hope that there is some character growth for Lady Gwyn Drake.

A really strong opening chapter and did it's job, I'm desperate to read more! Joshua seems like exactly my type of hero - stoic and gruff but with heart beneath all that. I love Gwyn's determination in the face of grim odds as well.

Since this book isn't available right now, I thought I would give my comments. The first chapter is only thing to write about and I really enjoyed it. I like the spitfire Lady Gwyn Drake. She is an heiress and her former beau has threatened her with exposing her secrets. Since her twin brother learned of the threat, he hires Joshua Wolfe, the estate's gamekeeper to keep Gwyn safe in London for the season. She doesn't take to this idea very well, and hopes to outwit the man at every turn. I can't wail to read the rest of the book to see what happens.

I enjoyed this - to the point where I was disappointed to get to the end of the sample chapter - so definitely a good teaser for the book. Jeffries can be a bit hit and miss for me, but this one looks like it could be a good one.

Well to say I was disappoint and shocked by this ARC, cause it wasn't and ARC of the book but the first very short chapter !!! What is with that. I do a lot of ARC and have never been sent just the first chapter.
This is Book two in the Duke Dynasty series and I have been waiting to read Bea and Major Wolf's story.
From what I could read, it's should be an intriguing story. Bea's twin Thom the Duke of Thornstock is not a man to be messed with especially if it involves his family. Major Wolf, is the ground keeper but also the grandson of Duke. Lady Gwyn has keep a secret from her brother for 10 years after she had an affair 10 years ago.
Now the ex suitor is back, with blackmail or he will talk. He was also in book one.
I sure hope a get a copy of the whole book to read. I would not have downloaded book if I had seen what it was.
I love Sabrina's books and feel cheated. As this is only chapter one it's hard to rate it.

Can't wait for more than the first chapter. This book is on my "watch for" list. I had trouble thinking this was the whole book and not just the first chapter. That information could have been made a little clearer.

1. This is only the first chapter.
2. It's a DAMN GOOD chapter.
3. Read the other books in the series first (if you haven't already) You really need the context Book 1 gives you.
4. For real, read this book!

Well, it was one great chapter. I need the rest ASAP! Can’t wait to watch Wolfe and Gwyn grow! If the first chapter is any indication there will be secrets, crushes, and luuuuvvvvv 💕❤️.

Hurry Ms. Jeffries I need the rest of the book!!!

Only a chapter of this novel was available. As such I am unable to review this book at this stage, I am hopeful the full manuscript will be available soon and I will be able to review it then.

I did not realize this was not the entire book therefore there is not enough content for me to comment on. Disappointed. I love this author.

A taste of what’s to come in Jeffries’ second installment to her “Duke Dynasty” series and it sounds promising. I’m reserving my judgement for Lady Gwyn as what I glimpsed of her in “Project Duchess” seemed okay, but Major Joshua Wolfe was certainly an intriguing character. Can’t wait for the full book to be released!

I can't wait!! Just finished Heywood's story and. I need more! The family is amazing and with every story I want to read about everyone's happily ever after. Each character is so well written and witty, you can easily fall in love with all of them. I haven't felt this excited in a long time regarding a series

First off, I was not aware that this was only a chapter sampler. I'm sure its my fault for not looking closer at what I signed up to read. So that was a little off putting to me when I was ready to dive into a new Historical Romance.

However, I was mostly upset because I loved what was on the few pages I had in my hand. I really like the set up of the story. I like the desperation, yet feistiness of the leading lady. I look forward to how this intriguing plot works itself out.

I am excited for how I will fall for this rouge that is blackmailing our main character. I'm sure there is a fun reason, or a dark reason, and I want to know!

I have never read a Sabrina Jeffries novel before, but will be on the look out for them from now on!

This is just a taste of the book The Bachelor. I can't wait for the full book. This is the second book in the series. I really enjoyed the characters from the last book.

Not sure I can really leave a review of only the first chapter....it seemed Ok but unlike other reviewers I haven't read the first of the series.

This is just the first chapter of The Bachelor. This is the second book in a series- I have the first book on my bed stand and this glimpse into the second book makes me want to read it more. I like series that have recurring characters in each story. This is Gwyn's story and she seems headstrong. There promises to be some sparks! I'm looking forward to it!

I am so intrigued in getting the rest of this story! I didn’t realize it was only one chapter I was receiving and I was deeply intrigued with the taste I was given! Readers will be captivated from page one!

I love books by Sabrina Jeffries, and after reading the first chapter, I am positive that this story will not disappoint. I look forward to this book being released so that I can read it.

A little snippet of The Bachelor and how fabulous does it sound? I cannot wait for the entire book. Joshua, brooding just the way I like them. Gwyn has a secret and can we guess what it is? Maybe, maybe not. Way to tease us.. HA!

Absolutely loved the first chapter of this book. I did read the first novel of the series, Project Duchess, which will give you a bit of background on the two main characters. I’m sure this can be read as a stand-alone but I love the character depth you get from seeing them as secondary characters prior to their story.

Again, I only read the first chapter on netgalley so I can’t give a full review. I will say this chapter pulled me in more and made me excited, so I’ll definitely be trying this when it’s released.
