So much steam in Down Too Deep by J Daniels. If you’re into all the sexy scenes, buckle up. This is totally your jam! In addition to the intense love scenes, J. Daniels writes a very sweet story about making a creating your own family no matter what life throws at you.

SERIES BUT STANDALONE
Not until after I read Down Too Deep by J Daniels did I realize it’s part of the Dirty Deeds series. While there may be a few character references I missed, this book is great as a standalone. After reading & loving Down Too Deep, I cannot wait to read more of the series.

LET’S GET REAL
So, I have to be real. I didn’t love the meet-cute in this one. For me, it felt very quick & unbelievable. Would you offer to watch someone’s kid that you just met despite having two kids of your own?

Once I got past this small issue for me, it is on. There is full-on steam in this book. If that’s not your thing, you’ll likely have to skip a chapter or two. Honestly, I love steam. Despite the not so believable meeting, the details on their intimacy really help seal the partnership & commitment between Nathan & Jenna.

THE VERDICT
I am Really Into This book! J. Daniels moves the story at a great pace. Heck yes for off the chart steam! Will I read the rest of this series? In a heartbeat!

This book is utter perfection. I loved Nathan and Jenna-and their kids. He is struggling so hard and she is so strong, but also vulnerable. They are exactly what each other needs! Just a wonderful book!

Oh my goodness, this is exactly the book I needed to read tonight! Down Too Deep was such a satisfying and heartwarming romance, that completely hooked me and made me feel all the feels. There was steam, there was emotion, there was love & healing, and there were adorable kids. I really enjoyed Nathan & Jenna’s story, and was not ready for it to end! This is my first J. Daniels read and it will not be my last.

Last night I picked up reading J. Daniels’ Down too Deep again at the 31% or so mark, and I ended up staying up until 1:18 am finishing it. *bangs head a little on the desk. #notsobaddecisionsbookclub* You could say that I really like the book.

Here’s what I found in Down Too Deep: a really kind of wonderful story about a single dad widower and a single mom tumbling into big L feelings after both of them have experienced their share of romantic heartbreak. Emotionally aware characters, which is hotter than it might sound. What feels like authentic portrayals of raising children alone and then trying to raise them together. And steam steam steam. One more for the road: steam.

Nathan hires Jenna to be his toddler daughter Marley’s babysitter when he’s in a pinch. [An aside: this is done with very little discussion/due hiring process/etc. whatsoever. He just needs someone and Jenna offers and pretty much boom! This is my least favorite part of the book. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer here, but that hiring process filled me with real life worries that immediately took me out of the story.]

But let’s move on with the review. It’s obvious that Nathan is a caring person, and specifically a caring but also largely absent single dad who’s temporarily lost his footing. Luckily for all parties concerned, Jenna LOVES kids and she immediately falls in love with Marley and helps Nathan learn to be a dad.

Nathan’s got a lot of guilt over his former wife’s suicide and the way that he took care of Marley following his wife’s passing, but he’s also got big feelings for Jenna (and vice versa). Will they act on them despite their employment situation, their concerns surrounding their kids, and the romantic baggage they’re lugging?

Down too Deep is positively bursting with heart, and that’s what kept me turning the pages late into the night (although the steam’s a tremendous incentive too). It wasn’t a seamless read for me—in addition to the hiring issue there are a couple of things at the end that I felt like were a bit much (one resulted in a bit of secondhand embarrassment for me)—but the overall book gave me a couple and two families to root for and no small amount of happiness.

What a book!! Two single parents with a quite a lot of baggage!
Jenna and Nathan are just two people going about their lives when Jenna offers to help Nathan watch his two year old. Jenna is a mom of eight year old twins who is looking for a man who wants to be apart of her life. Nathan is a dad of a two year old who hides from his broken life at work. Nathan so desperately wants his daughter to love him but at the same time is having a hard time dealing with the past.
This book was sweet yet sexy (it is possible!) Prepare for a few tears because your heart does break at one point. I picked up this book not knowing about this author but she definitely gained a new reader with her writing! This is definitely a book you need to check out.

Let me begin by saying that this is without a doubt my favorite book of this series and by this author. And let me tell you. I loved Bad for You. I didn't think anything could top it. But this one did. This book was a bundle of warmth, laughter and emotions.

Nathan is a widowed single father of a sweet two-year-old, Marley. For two years, Nathan aka Nate has drowned in grief and neglected his daughter. But, due to external forces, he needs to step up. And he kinda does. It's when he's trying to learn and raise his daughter that he meets Jenna.

Jenna, a single mother of twins, Oliver and Olivia, who instantly falls for Marley and offers to help out Nate in babysitting Marley. And Nate readily agrees.

What follows is a wonderful and heartwarming story of Nate learning and falling in love with his daughter with the help of Nate. It involves awww worthy scenes, hilarious scenes and mind-numbingly adorable scenes between these five people. We see them falling in love with each other. We see Nate falling in love with Oliver and Olivia.

And the ROMANCE, it's so HOTTT..!! <b><i>Nate and Jenna's chemistry sizzles and burns. </b></i> It's not a very slow burn. But it's the perfect burn for them. Their hot scenes are freaking smoking and panty-melting. Their journey of falling in love with each other is believable and I felt for them so much.

The story is about forgiving yourself, giving your life a second chance and trusting in love. It's about loving your kids and doing anything for them. It's about going to date nights, arranging sleepovers for kids elsewhere to find some time for naughty times. The book has enough kids scenes to satisfy my single parent romance loving heart. IT delivered all the adorableness and swoony scenes that I wish for in a romance with kids.

So, go ahead. Pick this book up. This book is for you if you love the following:

- Funny scenes
- Hot times
- You love the crew of this series
- Good groveling
- Adorable banter between MCs

A beautifully written, deeply emotional and gripping single parent love story. Although i have to say that this would not be my favourite trope, this book absolutely captured me from beginning to end.
Nate is a single parent, still reeling from the sudden death of his wife, a workaholic who has for the past couple of years relied whole heartedly on his parents providing care for his little daughter. Now they have handed out some tough love and have left him in the proverbial deep end !! Going off on holiday and leaving him to care for his daughter.
Jenna a Loving single parent to twins, Oliver and Olivia, comes to his rescue and takes care of Marley for Nate to help him find a path between work and caring for Marley.
OMG this book had me by the heart strings, i loved this couple Hard!! We get both sides of their stories, and i couldn't put this book down.
Nate was such a useless yet caring dad, feeling he couldn't give his little daughter all she would need. Oh boy watching him grow into the father of any little girls (or Boys) dreams had me in a puddle.
Jenna was a natural parent, and devoted, a tower of strength and patience, and i loved the banter and shennanigins between Nate and Jenna. STEAMY flirting, steamy everything i was ready for combustion!! These two families coming together and growing pretty much melted me! The journey to their HEA was one i absolutely loved and definitely a book i would re read !!!!

I could not put this one down. The characters had great chemistry every time they were in the same room. This book filled me with so many emotions I had to finish in one sitting.

I'm kicking myself that this is my first J Daniels book but it makes me so excited to go back and read them all!

I completely fell in love with the characters in Down Too Deep. Nathan's internal battle with fatherhood, his recent loss and trying to balance this new life was absolutely all consuming. I really felt for him & Marley and the emotional torment he was going through. Moments between he and Marley really broke my heart at times.

When Jenna, Oliver and Olivia were first introduced it felt like a breath of fresh air, they're so fun and cute and happy and I loved their interactions.

Jenna is able to be there for Nate and Marley in a way no one else can and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough wanting to know just what would happen between these two people and their families. Sometimes the journey was painful and hard and sometimes it was hopefull and sweet, a lot of the time it was down right sexy and I absolutely loved it. It feels like a real depiction of people with flaws trying to navigate a major change in their lives, it's beautiful, emotional and honest. I miss them all already.

Down Too Deep was everything I was hoping it would be. I've been waiting for Nate to get a book forever and pairing him up with Jenna was perfect. It was especially fun because I already knew I loved both of these characters from previous books in the series. Nate is the owner of Whitecaps where both Syd and Tori worked and Jenna is Brian's younger sister. These characters being surrounded by those special characters just made things that much better.

Jenna and Nate were so stinking adorable together. I could go on and on about how much I loved them together. It was cool to explore the things Jenna and Nate had in common. They were both single parents who loved their children deeply. They had different paths to becoming single parents, and both had some issues with that to work out, but it connected them in a way they wouldn't have been otherwise. That was a really cool thing because it made this book not only about a romance but about family as well.

If you like kids in books, Down Too Deep has some incredibly adorable ones. Jenna's twins Olivia and Oliver were part of what made this book shine. They had such great little personalities for kids. Same goes for Nate's daughter Marley. She was such a cute toddler. I especially loved her for the way she adored Oliver. Combine the three of these kids and it's cuteness overload.

I honestly couldn't think of a better way for J. Daniels to end the Dirty Deeds series than with Nate and Jenna. The only thing better would be if the series didn't have to end.

Considering that I've read hundreds of romance novels, I'm starting to think its a shame that I haven't read more single parent books. I've read a decent number of romance novels where parents get back together, but not where single parents find new love. A shame, since I really like this one.

I really liked the premise, Jenna offering her help to Nathan who is obviously struggling to be the dad that he wants to be. I really liked Jenna's character in general. I didn't always agree with her, but I always respected that she was a mom who worked hard to be the great mom that she was. She was her own woman, but her kids always came first for her. She was constantly making the mature choice and I really appreciated it. Her back must hurt from carrying the relationship.

As cute as the kids were, they didn't always feel real to me. I think little kids are hard to write, but I got different vibes for how old they were at any given time. Olivia seemed really young at some points and Oliver seemed older, it was weird considering they're twins. Also, I have to question how much Jenna loves them if she named them Olivia and Oliver? Really? Really??? Fine, you do you. I still found them really cute especially, Olivia's relationship with Nathan.

The romance was cute, but didn't have the spark that I was looking for. It all sort of felt last minute or just oddly paced. The romance seemed to rely on fun banter, but there didn't seem to be a lot? They were saying stuff like, "You're my best friend", but it only felt like they really talked once or twice? It just felt dependent on chemistry that I didn't really feel. It was also strange to see Nathan not get so much? Like-just clueless about a lot. Like why Jenna doesn't want his money, why Marley gets upset, why Jenna gets upset with him. It just felt like Nathan kept messing up a bunch, I did still like him, but it was just little things that made me not love him. I didn't fall for him in anyway.

Also, I didn't really love Jenna's friends. Granted, I haven't read the rest of the series, which I assume has some of their love stories, but in the book Jenna literally says, "I seriously needed to stop confiding in other women" which rubbed me the wrong way? Like, I actually got kind of upset for sec about this. Her friends just didn't seem to respect her boundaries at times.

TL;DR This book was a great single parents find love book. If you love the way kids add complexity to a romance then I would refer you to this book immediately.

Amazing book!! I loved this one from beginning to the end. It was so emotional, heartbreaking, and heartwarming. I loved Nate and Jenna. I loved this whole series.

Nate is often happy when his woman lets him know he has the right things, “I do?” Eff yes, I had the good kind. Whatever the hell that meant." Jenna sometimes gets distracted, "...Nathan yawned and rolled to his back, stretching his long body. He rubbed at his face. I stared at his chest, lower to his abs and then lower still. He was barely covered by the sheet." Nate is so poetic with his words, “I’m about to eff the s*** out of you.” Her eyes widened. Damn. Was that too blunt? “Romantically, of course,” I quickly added, just in case. “Also, you look really pretty today. Have I told you that?” I adored this book, I loved Nathan.

It has been more than four years ago that I last read a book by J. Daniels, however I couldn't resist when I read the synopsis of Down Too Deep. I love single parent romances, and the fact that both characters are a single parent is just icing on the cake. Down Too Deep was a great contemporary romance with fun and interesting characters. I loved the way they met and how their relationship grew over time. The kids were my favorite in the book. Jenna's twins Oliver and Olivia were such great and curious kids, and Nate's daughter Marley was just the cutest. I loved that the relationship between the kids were highlighted in the book, I also enjoyed the interaction between Nate and the twins.

Overall Down Too Deep was a very fun and a little bit emotional read. I enjoyed J. Daniels writing and there was no dull moment. The sex scenes were extra hot in this book, and I loved reading them. The chemistry between Nate and Jenna was great, and I loved when the moment came when they just couldn't resist each other any longer. They were both mature and did a pretty good job at communicating their feelings. They both have their insecurities and a bit of a broken heart but thankfully that didn't take over the whole book. I enjoyed this book a lot and will definitely try to read more by this author.

2 single parents + 3 adorable kids = 1 truly entertaining love story!!!

This is my 4th book by J. Daniels and the 4th book in this series. I have truly enjoyed reading this series and kind of sad to see it come to an end.

As with the other books in this series, I truly enjoy the writing style of this author and I have found all the storylines and characters fun and relatable. I thought Down Too Deep is my favorite of this series though and that has everything to do with the 3 kids we meet in this book. I am truly a sucker for the single parent romance and any adorable kids in a story.

The only reason I couldn’t give this book 5 stars was because of the pace of the story. It is a little on the slower side and I felt there was a little too much filler and inner monologue for my liking. This story was never boring, I just felt some of the filler could’ve been left out to move things a long a little faster.

Down Too Deep is the 4th and final book of J. Daniels Dirty Deeds Series. This book can be read as a standalone but you do see past characters in this book. I think to truly appreciate these characters and the world they live in, this series should be read in order. This story is told in Dual POV.

In this book we follow the story of Nathan and Jenna. Jenna is Brian’s (from Four Letter Word Book 1) sister. She is a single mom to 2 really adorable 8 year old twins….Oliver and Olivia. Nathan is a single dad who owns the restaurant that we have seen throughout this series. (Some of the other heroines work in this restaurant). He is the father of a sweet 2 year old daughter….Marley. 2 years ago Nathan had something horrible happen and it caused him to shut down and put up walls when it came to everything. So when his parents, who have been taking care of Marley for the last 2 yrs, tells him he needs to straighten up and take care of his own daughter, that truly shocks Nathan and he is lost as to what to do. That is until one night when he has Marley at work with him and she escapes into the restaurant. She is “captured” by Jenna. So when Jenna goes to his office to return his daughter, Nathan is grateful. This little meeting leads to Nathan hiring Jenna to help him out with his daughter for the summer. Can Jenna help him break down his walls?? Can she show him he is worth loving?? Will they get their HEA?? Read this story to find out.

This book was a story about learning to love again. It is a story about hope and healing. This book had everything for every reader. This book was such an entertaining story, the kids in the story truly stole the show for me. I loved every scene they were in. Now even though I say this, this book was also full of emotion and heart aching moments. Just know that when your heart breaks through this story, in the end she puts it back together and you will have a smile on your face.

I would definitely recommend this book...pick this one up, I don't think you'll regret it!!

I’ve been waiting for Nate’s book for years!
It exceeded my expectations in every way.
Nathan is trapped in an endless cycle of depression and avoidance since he lost his wife.
Forced to come to terms and be a father, he meets Jenna.
Jenna is a single mother, reading her twins. She agrees to watch Marley(age 2), Nathan’s daughter for the short term.
Their story is emotional, heart felt and so romantic.
I got lost in their journey to become what they desire most...
Technically, Down Too Deep can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend you read all the previous books in the series.

Thank you to HBG Canada for my free review ecopy of this book. This was my first book by this author and I loved it. Jenna and Nathan meet when Jenna starts babysitting Nathans’s daughter, Marley. Jenna is a single mother with eight year old twins and Nate is a widower. Since Nathan’s wife’s suicide he has shut down emotionally. So much so that he doesn’t even look after his two year old daughter and she is currently living with his parents. His parents give him an ultimatum that he has to straighten out and get his life back on track and look after his child. He soon realizes he doesn’t have any connection to his daughter and no clue how to look after her. Once Jenna steps in she slowly guides him as to how to parent Marley emotionally and physically. Of course since this is a love story a relationship develops between Jenna and Nate. This was a lovely story! I must warn you - there are some explicit sex scenes so beware if you aren’t comfortable with that. I thought this book was well written with great character development. There are also some cute children in this book that you will love!
