I'm in love <3 Officially. After having read the first chapter of this book, thanks to receiving an excerpt from the publisher via Netgalley, this will be my most anticipated read for Jan 2020. My only complaint? JANUARY 2020! That's too far away....

The first chapter follows instagram star and calligraphy artist, Meg and her intriguing ability to predict the failure of her customers', Reid and Cecelia's, marriage. Reid (the dashing but broody groom) has since turned up at Meg's New York shop following the ending of his relationship with Cecelia - wanting to know Meg's secret for having predicted their failure before anyone else. The ensuing drama is sure to follow...along with me...in JANUARY. Why, oh why, does it have to be so far?

After having gotten my grubby mitts on the first chapter I'm eagerly awaiting more. This is definitely one to keep your eye on <3

My bad. I thought this was the whole book. But turned out only excerpt. Oh well...at least this makes me want to get my grubby hands on the book ASAP

So far this excerpt is only the first chapter. That being said, the first chapter of this left me wanting to read more! Can't wait to find out more about these characters.

I think about fonts a lot. It's part of my job. So when a book opens with a meditation on sans serif fonts, I am there for it. Then we widen out to information about our heroine, where she's working, and her (not) relationship to our hero. This is a delightful first chapter and it has me wanting more.

I was super excited to read this excerpt from Love Lettering, and look forward to providing a more complete review when I get a chance to read the entire book.

Bummer that this is only an opening chapter, but a Clayborn novel is always much anticipated. And, from the opening, Love Lettering will be no less ... at least by this reviewer! "Some more, please?"

I didn't realize this was just an excerpt. I enjoyed the title and hope it comes with a vocabulary/glossary of print terms. It left my hanging and I really want to know what happens!

This first chapter was intriguing and I really want to read the rest of the book. It's interesting that she thinks I'm color!

I was so sure that I had made a mistake in the download. Seems strange to give a review for only one chapter. But I am very very intrigued and look forward to receiving the remainder of the book.

Such an intriguing first chapter! Looking forward to reading the rest of the book when available and getting answers to my many questions. The whole concept is fascinating and I was immediately drawn into the heroine’s world.

A really delightful snippet of this book. I'm super excited to read the full book!
Clayborn's writing is charming and really engaging. Really great opening that sucks you in.

Oh this is gonna be so good!

Meg is a hand-lettering master who has been sought out so much for doing wedding sets that she'd have been booked for the next forever if she hadn't left the wedding paper business after designing Reid and Avery's invites. When she first met Reid, all she could see was sadness...she thinks. So she snuck something into the lettering on their invites. One year later, where this novel starts, Reid comes in to the shop wedding-ring-less and pulls out a crumpled invite and asks how Meg knew his marriage would fail.

And so it begins! Just this first chapter has been released and I am hooked! I can't wait to read the rest. Publishing day can't come soon enough for this.

Thank you NetGalley, Kate Clayborn and Kensington Books for this teaser. I am sufficiently teased and want it all!

Definitely hooked on the teaser alone! I've been recommended Clayborn's titles before and I've got her Luck series on my to-read list so that will for sure keep me occupied until this one comes out. The concept is so fresh and unique and Clayborn's voice is distinct and engaging.

Bummed this was only a teaser however what I did read has intrigued me. Can't wait for the whole book!

Well, that excerpt hooked me! I can't wait to get my hands on the finished book. The main male character gave me Darcy vibes and I love that the main female character has a creative career. From their banter, I feel like this is gearing up to be a very entertaining read.

I was unaware that partial books or samples could be put on Netgalley for request, so like other reviewers, I was surprised when this one showed up and was just a single chapter.

That said, this chapter didn’t disappoint! As someone who dabbles in handlettering and modern calligraphy and hasn’t met a bullet journal she didn’t love, I super enjoyed being dropped into the world of a professional handcrafter. There are enough questions seeded into this single chapter to make it a page-turner, and Kate Clayborn’s writing voice, which I so enjoyed in her Luck trilogy, jumps off the page with its fresh intelligence.

Without anything more to judge it on—or even a cover photo as part of the digital sample—I can’t promote this book on my blog. But I can’t wait to gobble up the full book when it becomes available, and look forward to recommending it to others then!

I was really disappointed to realise that this was an excerpt as the premise is terrific. That said, I am suitably intrigued that I am now looking forward to New Year and the pending release date!

What a teaser! I can't wait to read the book! I love the concept of the protagonist being a calligrapher.
