First of all, a disclaimer for you: I am neither American, nor adopted or a mother or familiar with any kind of foster system, so I'm really the worst person to ask anything about it. I warned you, there you go. (I am not even old enough to be elligible as an adoptive parent in my country)

We Adopted Five Special-Needs Foster Kids is a very touching memoir about... well, adopting special-needs foster kids. I don't know what to tell you more about that. I almost cried while working at least three times.
It also made me repulsed, once again, at how some people treat children. Not the authors, but the other foster parents that "cared" for the kids before they became Foxes.
It did give me a deeper insight on the whole matter, which is always a plus. I'll definitely look more into this (if not to adopt myself, because I can't even keep a cactus alive, but for research purposes).

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

i absolutely adore books like this. I wish every family could open their homes and hearts to foster / adopt special needs kids.

This book was heartwarming to say the least.

This book so wonderfully describes the lives of families affected by special needs, past trauma, and adoption! I wasn't able to put it down! Having grown up in a special needs fost-adopt family myself (eight kids, seven special needs, five adopted) and hopefully soon to start the fost-adopt process myself, I could relate to many of the things in this book. I'd like to congragulate Ann, Dan, and their kids on all the hard work, struggles, and triumphs they've been through so far and wish them the best as they continue this journey!
