I unfortunately forgot to download the e-book on my kindle before it was archived and/or lost interest in the book because it’s been on my tbr for way too long, so I wasn’t able to read and review it (on time). Since I Must give a star rating, I’ve given it 3 stars to stay neutral/in the middle. Sorry to the publisher for not having gotten around to actually read it. I never request a book without the best of intention to read it and review it, since I know how important it is to the authors in particular. But sometimes life happens and/or reading preferences change so much that you just don’t always get around to read a certain book anymore, even though at the time of requesting I was definitely planning to actually read it of course.

There’s lots to like about this book. I imagine the style won’t be for everyone and I think as the author produces more books it will even out somewhat. But none of that detracted from the story which was gripping and fun. The plot was intriguing with plenty of twists. The magic system was very clever. The romance was good and didn’t overpower the fantasy. And there are telepathically bonded animal companions. What’s not to love? More please.

Telepathic bonded flying animals, a great romance, and a twisty plot. This book had so many great points. An interesting magic system. An evil ruthless villain.

I really enjoyed the characters and magic in this book. The writing, though, felt a bit choppy. I wished it flowed better. I feel that with some editing, this book could be really great. But the way it currently is written detracted the experience for me.

The characters were easy to connect with, and I really enjoyed the magic and world building.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
