It was a cute story but it just didn’t grip me. I ended up skipping to the end after about 60%. Will still purchase because I’m sure others will like it

This was a super fun and quick read. Once I got started I didn't put it down until I was finished. Caroline loves her job as a wedding announcement coordinator and living above a cafe with her best friend. She is a little wishy washy about what she wants to be when she grows up but when she runs into a hot guy in her friend's bakery a glimmer of hope sparks. Caroline arrives at work after that run in only to find that the hot guy from the baker is the fiancé of her super early appointment. Alex is the fiancé and hot guy from the bakery but come to find out he is much more than that. Alex and Caroline have an older connection and this story explores that connection. There is a dash of marriage of convenience, fake dating, brother's best friend, and lost love all wrapped into this fun, sweet, and sexy story. I look forward reading more about these characters and the secondary friend group.

This specific video review will be included in the August 2019 wrap-up.

This book was pretty cute! I had some issues with the pacing of the story but overall I liked it. Will give her another chance for sure.

This was so great! I did not go the way I thought it would and I ended up loving it. The characters were adorable, though the constant doubting by Caroline was a bit annoying, it worked out in the end! Loved it!

Save The Date by Monica Murphy is a stand alone contemporary romance. Caroline Abbott loves her job—helping engaged couples pick out the perfect save the date cards and invitations for their dream wedding. Working at Noteworthy means she has to deal with the occasional bridezilla, but Caroline’s always up for the challenge. Until one particular bridezilla walks into the stationery store who’s fiancé happens to be the boy Caroline shared her first kiss with. Alexander Wilder is all grown up now, helping run his family’s successful luxury hotel chain, and is somehow even better looking than she remembers. When Caroline just happens to catch Alex’s fiancée half naked with another man well, of course she has to tell Alex. Of course, he breaks off his engagement. And of course, the ex-bridezilla has gone completely bonkers. At least Caroline has her friends to save her from crazy ex-fiancées. But she also has the sudden interest of…Alex? Caroline knows they share a connection, but is he on the rebound? Or after seeing her all these years later, does he really want something more?

Save The Date is a romance that had me grinning and cringing in turn. I liked Caroline's character, and how hard she worked to be independent with still having a good support systems of friends and owning her fears of the future. Alex is a workaholic that I liked seeing admit what he needed and wanted out of life while still working to keep his family happy. The interactions between the two were sweet, sometimes snarky, and generally fun to read. I loved Caroline's friends and wish we all had a tribe of chosen family like that. I thought the twists and turns of the story were well written- and individually very believable. I found myself very engaged and had trouble putting the book aside a few times when I needed to- like to go to sleep at night. I enjoyed the read and think many others will as well. I just hope Murphy gives some of Caroline's friends happy endings pf their own.

Save The Date is a sweet romance with hints of a second chance romance and some sibling's friend- but never really gets lost in either. I liked the honesty and twists in the story. I am really glad I read it and will be reading more from the author.

Save The Date by Monica Murphy is an fun and breezy read! The story is engaging, and the two main characters are easy to get to know. This is the first book from the author's Dating series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Caroline Abbott and Alexander Wilder shared their first kiss while playing hide and seek about fourteen years ago. At that time, Alex was Caroline's older brother's best friend. Only days after their memorable moment, Alex's family moved away. Now Alex is engaged, and heir to his family's luxury hotel conglomerate. Caroline works for Noteworthy, a stationary store that caters to the wealthy. She is an expert in all things bridal, and loves helping couples pick out the perfect wedding stationary. After an inquisitive hello in Caroline's best friend's coffee shop, Alex, now with his wackadoo fiance, are in her workplace, picking out their save-the-date cards. Alex's fiancee is an adulteress, in addition to being a gold-digger and stalker. Luckily they never marry, and Alex realizes that Caroline is the one that got away. Caroline is very attracted to Alex, and as a result, their time together evolves into much more.

This is an enjoyable light read with a few very sexy encounters. The story flows along quite effortlessly and there was never a moment that I did not savor. Caroline's group of friends are fun, and I am hopeful they each get their own book. If you are a "relationship of convenience" fan, then you will like this book.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

I enjoyed my first book by this author. It was fun and light with a splash of family drama but nothing overwhelming.

The reason I couldn’t give it a higher rating is because I didn’t get to connect to the characters and I didn’t feel Alex and Caroline had chemistry. The book didn’t make me feel invested in their story. It was predictable that they will get together but it wasn’t believable.

This is a fun easy read. Alex and Caroline knee each other when they were kids. They were each other’s first kiss. However, Alex moved away and they were never able to explore their young crush. Years later they meet again. Alex is engaged and Caroline works as a wedding invitation consultant. It took a while for me to get Caroline. I didn’t like how she hid from Alex’s ex after the fiasco. I really wanted her to stand up for herself. She was a fraidy cat in most situations. She desks with bridezillas all the time but can’t handle personal conflict. She had me wishing she would get a backbone. She gradually got better. Alex had his own issues. He was a workaholic who did pretty much anything to please his father which sets up the nice fake fiancée plot. Interesting characters with everyday flaws.

I LOVED Save the Date - The only thing I didn't love was that there was MORE!!!

Caroline is the wedding coordinator at the local paper shop - Noteworthy. Things were good for her... until one-day things got really interesting!

After running into the guy who gave her, her first kiss and not realizing it was him until he was sitting across from her at her desk with his snotty fiancee - She shouldn't be having the thoughts she's having about him. But when she finds out his fiancee is cheating on him, the only thing she can do is tell him. Right?

Alex can't believe that his fiancee was cheating on him... but then again he could. So when he finds himself in a bind to bring his future wife with him on a business trip - why not ask the girl who saved him from marrying the wrong woman... and also the girl he never forgot about as his first kiss.

Although its been years since they've seen each other or hung out, the chemistry is still there. And a weekend in Paris? Well, who wouldn't be caught up in the romance of the city and parade of playing his fake fiancee?

I loved Caroline and Alex. Their chemistry was perfect and the sexual tension between the two was Magna hot!

A cute, fun and swoony read. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Everyone remembers their first kiss, especially Caroline, because her first kiss was also the best kiss she has ever had. Sadly, it was also the last time she saw Alex; that is until fate steps in and converges Caroline and Alex’s lives in order to change the course of their future.

The attraction between Caroline and Alex is always close to the surface even when it shouldn’t be, but there is a reason Alex is uninterested in the woman who has embroiled him in her schemes. Luckily, Caroline is morally obligated to ensure Alex knows the truth even though she could be vilified for the deed.

There is a lot of backstory for the characters within Save the Date, focusing on the aspects of their upbringing that has shaped their identities as well as the viewpoint into different family dynamics and the role it plays in shaping the person we become.

There is a larger portion of focus on Caroline but I think this is due to the strong, independent women in her life. Her friends are amazing and truly empowering, I want to be friends with them. The introduction and interactions with Caroline’s friends pave the way for future books in the series which I am extremely happy about, it will be fantastic see each of them get their happily ever after 💕

Business and family dynamics place Caroline and Alex in the precarious situation of a faux relationship even thought their emotions and attraction are anything but fake. Navigating the rocky road laid out before them proves especially difficult when outside factors test the strength of their belief in each other.

Save the Date is sweet, cute and something a little bit different. Girl power emanates through the pages proving you don’t need a man in your life to be happy but when the right one comes along they enhance what you already have ❤

I really enjoy books by Monica Murphy and Save the Date was also really cute! It was an easy read with dual points of view between the two main characters.
I did find the story entertaining and enjoyable, but it really didn’t WOW me. It was missing something to grab onto the reader. Anyone who loves an easy read, with low angst and drama, will love this story.

I am excited to read more within this series. I hope all of Caroline's group of girlfriends get their own books!

After this I totally want to read the next book in the series. Save the Date was a really funny, lighthearted, sweet and entertaining story.
The main characters, Caroline and Alex are reuniting again after years under very particular circumstances; she's handling the invitations and cards for his wedding to a woman who's a total bridezilla and a cheater too, Caroline decides to tell Alex and that's how the real story begins.

I liked the chemistry between the characters and also, the pace and writing were good, fluent and light. It's overall a very cute romance story, a feel good book.

Monica Murphy hit the jackpot with Save the Date! Alexander and Caroline are a couple you can't help but cheer for. They were each other's first kiss when they were younger and have recently reconnected in a very awkward way. Alexander was engaged to a true bridezilla, named Tiffany and Caroline was the sales person who assists them in purchasing their "Save the Date" cards and wedding invitations. It only gets more complicated when Caroline sees Tiffany cheating on Alexander and then has to be the one to tell him about it. The storyline continues to unfold from there. It is all further enriched by the strong supporting characters. I believe there is a great potential for several more books centering around Caroline's friends and their adventures in finding love. I look forward to reading more by Ms. Murphy in this series.

Really cute story! I love how Alex and Caroline reconnected years later after having their first kiss together as teenagers. Things get a little crazy for the pair, but it brings them closer together. This book had the perfect amount of drama. The chemistry between Alex and Caroline was great and only got better throughout the story. This book was super sweet while still being sexy and captivating. Looking forward to seeing how this series develops.

***Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

I had a hard time getting through this one. I never got attached to the characters and the romance was a little blah.

If I would like to describe this book with one word it would be cute.
This is the perfect summer beach or vacation read.

Caroline and Alex were childhoods sort of friends and each other first kiss. After 8th grade, they lose touch only to meet years later when Alex comes with his fiance to pick save the date cards for his upcoming wedding to shop where Caroline works.

This is very light and bubbly read. I loved the characters, plot, and pace of the story. It was very entertaining.
I loved all the Paris parts too. Even though the story feels familiar and the plot line is predictable but so what.
It is a certain comfort in knowing that you will be getting a solid chick lit read with happy end and everything in between.
