The Debt is a good fit for readers looking for a fast-paced, steamy contemporary romance with a focus on power dynamics, debt resolution, and personal growth.

Apologies for the late response on this title, and apologies for clogging up an inbox on old titles.

While I am aware it's obvious, I have chosen not to read/review this title.

As always, I appreciate access to titles and look forward to the next one...which I have likely already read based on how long ago this title was published.

Thanks, again.

Proud Kiwi. I love seeing Kiw's succeed on the word stage.

Long overdue rating but I loved this.

I liked the flow and the characters. There was a great amount of conflict and interest to keep page turning.

Attractive title and cover.

Recommend.

She saw him for who he truly was and although she had ulterior motives their chemistry burned faster than pressing down on the accelerator. He would seek his revenge and becomes more successful than his half brother while collecting on the debt and changing his life forever.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

I love a sexy billionaire romance!! Practically everything with the Dare Label I am excited to read! There is great chemistry between the two leads with tons of steam!

This story was written in dual first person point of view. The major conflicts are both internal and external as characters battle themselves, other characters, and society. The popular themes include capitalism, empowerment, family, fulfillment, hazards of passing judgement, power of wealth and wisdom and experience.

Ellie Little is determined to save her family's business but also to prove that she too can contribute to the family. She is all ready to whatever she needs to do in order to save and continue to grow her dream. Ash Evans is a self-made billionaire who is all about taking things seriously and not letting anything stand in the way of moving forward with his dreams, even family. Things get messy when Ash decides that Ellie can help him pull off a profitable property by but ends finding out so much more about this chauffeur who is all about designing sports cars.

The ideas are original in the sense they attempt to take on society roles for women back in the day. The voice is strong as each character has a unique type of communicating to one another. The flow is organized and the sentence structure helps to enhance the overall story. Yes, I would recommend this book. This is a good recommendation for those interested in lots of lusty scenes, ruthless business men learning to mellow out, or women learning to find their voice in male dominated worlds, or the perks of being a billionaire. This is not a good recommendation for those looking for non lusty scenes, respect for women in male dominated feels, or family support.

This is the first book I am reading by Jackie Ashenden, my fourth Dare title. This is Book One of The Billionaires Club Series.

Ellie Little works as a chauffeur for the high and mighty apart from being a designer in her father's supercar company, Australis. She's chauffeuring for Ash Evans in Paris and hoping that she could convince the billionaire property developer/investor to not pull out the venture capital he invested in her father's company.

Ash had finally reached that milestone which granted him a membership to the invitations-only The Billionaires Club. And he was there to rub it in his half-brother's face as well as to sabotage Sebastian Dumont's latest business deal.

This was so hilarious, especially with Ellie doing all the things that normally none of Ash's staff would ever dare do. Not taking his annoyance to heart, not letting anything affect her sunny disposition. Narrated in the first person alternately every chapter from his and her perspective, this made for a very entertaining read.

"He struck me very much like a bear with a sore paw, swiping at people who came too close."

Ellie is a classic example of a brilliant mind not allowed to succeed in a male-dominated area, starting with her family members. I hadn't enjoyed the second book, which I read first, as much as I was enjoyed reading this one. Ellie has four brothers, Jason, Justin, Dev, and George.

Mmm...for the first time I'm reading voyeurism, not that explicit, in a Dare title. And I love the blase chats between the protagonists. Ellie's an Aussie badass, with a mouth to match it. Haha! All those car references had me laughing out loud but it was all so hot as well.

"He was a supercar in human form. Powerful, sleek, dangerous and difficult to manage. But, oh, how I wanted to manage him."

He's thirty-two to her twenty-five something. Since I read Book Two first, all I can say is that the events in the books run parallel to each other. And I just realised that I love angsty protagonists more. Because outright I fell in love with this one. Both of them have serious father issues and the way they resolve each other's moods is too sweet. And hot. And I said that again. The epilogue made me wonder that it is good that I read Book Two first because it didn't have one and would have applied that read.

Thank you to the author, Harlequin Publishers, and NetGalley for an e-ARC of the book.

A quick, enjoyable, entertaining read, written by a new to me author. Not excessively long, but not too short either.

This book was enjoyable, and a quick, entertaining read. The writing was a bit basic, but not enough to deter me from finishing the book.

Short and steamy. Ash is a poor boy made billionaire who's looking to get revenge on his half brother Seb.
Ellie needs Ash to extend the terms on her father's debt and save the family business so she goes undercover as a chauffeur to Ash.The chemistry is off the charts and it appears they might be able to help each other.

A great contemporary story in the author's signature style.

Ash has held a grudge for what seems like forever, finally he can settle the score with his brother.

Ellie needs to save her family business and will stop at nothing until she can rescue it.

What will happen when Ellie and Ash connect? It sizzles.

Each have their own baggage and will stop at almost nothing to do what they must.

If you love a billionaire who has a need to be in control don't miss this ;).

This story just didn't do it for me. I picked it up several times and I just couldn't really get into it. There was plenty of heat in the story and it was well written but I didn't relate to or enjoy either Ash or Ellie and there was, for me, way too much baggage from both of them.

Ellie asks former fighter now billionaire Ash for a favor involving her family's business. Ash is all too happy to help Ellie for a price. He wants her to pretend to be his girlfriend. She also ends up being a driver for him. These two had hot chemistry and it sparked like a wildfire. A really enjoyable read.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

jackie ashenden's dare novels are short, sexy, and totally bingeworthy. her heroes are total alphas with soft gooey warm centers and her heroines are badass women who know what they want and have a plan to get it. they might need the hero's help, but they are never helpless.

in the debt, ellie and ash have chemistry to spare, and while there is a formula to these books, the details are always what makes them so readable. you fall for these characters and enjoy inhabiting their world. this book sets up a new series from ashenden, and i can't wait to keep reading more.

**the debt will publish on september 1, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/harlequin (dare) in exchange for my honest review.

Ellie and Ash’s chemistry is off the charts from their very first encounter. I loved how Ellie was smart, strong, gave as good as she got and never backed down from a challenge. Even though I loved their story, I would’ve loved a longer drive 😄 There’s definitely things that need to be glossed over since it’s a short story and while I still felt connected to Ellie and Ash, I would’ve loved more.

The Debt is the first book in what will be a multiple author series, The Billionaires Club.
Ellie Little would do anything to save her family's custom supercar company. Even make a deal with angry, dismissive Ash Evans. Planning to propose for more time on the debt should be simple. But getting face time with the cranky Billionaire is almost impossible, unless you're creative and become his temporary chauffer.
Ash has fought for everything he's gotten. And he's finally reached the pinnacle of success. Yet, he had one more conquest to make in his determined stance against his half brother. As Ash is known for being unforgiving he will do whatever it takes. That brings in Ellie, who is so unlike what he is used to. And when favors are exchanged, they end up with more than chemistry and tangled limbs. They have to fight their own demons and be willing to take the leap.

I have just discovered my first book in the DARE line by Harlequin and after just one book I’m a huge fan. How can you go wrong with a former street-fighter turned surly Billionaire who turns into a pussycat in the arms of his sexy Aussie limousine driver? Both characters hatch a plan to get what they need and the reader has the thrill of a sexually explicit happily-ever-after. It sounds like a win-win to me. Great stories, rich Alpha males and a heroine who is strong enough to stand up to him when he needs to get his attitude adjusted. I read a copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
