I will be using this in my children's Home School this year! Arranged alphabetically and they (and myself), can learn over time. I highly recommend!

This is a good learning tool for kids. It lists words and their pronunciation which is always helpful (I remember my dad getting tickled when I was a kid and I said something about the Cher-O-kees and dun-GAR-ees in the same sentence).

Each word contains a good definition, sometimes quite detailed. Within the definitions are new words that include definitions. It sounds confusing but it works. I’m not sure why the pronunciations are listed first and the definitions are listed separately though unless it’s to give the child an incentive to repeat the pronunciation.

The words are listed in alphabetical order which seems to be the best way to list them. At the end of the book, there is a chapter called “Potpourri.” Why weren’t they included with the rest of the book? The words were interesting, but I kept thinking I must have missed something.

Overall, this is a good book to help kids learn new words. I sure learned a few new ones!

This is a cool book... I read it with my kids and they enjoy it too. The words are rather new for them but that's the point, I guess! At the end of the day, they learned something new from this book. As an adult, I enjoyed it as well.

"Humongous (& Cool) Words for Kids" by SB Hilarion is a fun and educational book for older kids. This is a great resource for a child who loves to read and to learn. It has good pictures of various words in this "dictionary" of humongous words for kids.

The words have both a multicultural aspect in many cases, where the child learns about new cultures as they learn the new words and at other times they are specialized words for various niches in art, music, architecture, science, and other fields. This is a great gift for an eight to twelve-year-old who with a voracious appetite for learning. It could also come in handy for a young one trying to best their parent or another adult in Scrabble.

I enjoyed learning some new words and I think the intelligent child in your life would enjoy it too.

This book features colorful illustrations paired with a wide range of words for young people (and old) to learn. It’s eye-catching and would be a great text to include when teaching vocabulary. A very cool idea executed well.

I reviewed this book on Goodreads under my name. I thought the words were definitely humongous and the definitions and illustrations were quite good. However, I felt they were too involved for the ages of the readers. This is a most interesting book!

This book is an awesome read for any age! I enjoyed skimming through my during my breaks and lunch! No need to read the book from cover to cover all at once! It's arranged alphabetically, but it's an excellent book to browse through and learn a few new words, in five languages, no less! It's entertaining for all ages!
