An erotic story with a dash of body issue sensitivity.

Sharon has fantasized about her firefighter roommate, Case. And that was exactly what she was doing when Case walked in on her pleasing herself. Her fantasies become reality when Case offers to join in on the fun.

This is definitely not my usual genre of reading. But I had read several reviews talking about it dealing with body issues. That is something I have struggled with my whole life, so I felt called on to read it.

I wasn't expecting this to be very deep or anything, but it surprisingly addressed Sharon's low body self esteem in a sweet way. Case made sure to show Sharon how sexy she thought she was.

Beyond that, there were some things that bothered me. Crude language and dialogue. It was so blatant that I actually started to think of it as being silly or parody like. I am a self described prude, that is for sure. But I can usually get through sex scenes without negative reaction. Not so in this case. And it also bothered me that Case started calling Sharon 'baby' after only one roll in the hay.

Overall this was a short 10-ish minute read. I give it props for the unique inclusion of body issues.

I recommend this to those who like erotica, strap-ons, showers, roses, and cinnamon.

Wow this was a hot and quick read. If you require a short story that combines hot steamy scenes with the character/emotions involved this was perfect for that. I am not a fan of stories that go straight into the action without any character/emotion as its just too 'in your face' for my liking. The author here has written very cleverly to ensure that me as the reader was invested in the story.

I much prefer M/F leads however this with two females leads really worked for me. I am keen to seek out other stories by the same author.

What can you say about this book? It's an erotic novella so that's exactly what you get, a lot of sex in a few short chapters and not much else. No character development which I didn't mind but after reading other reviews it clearly peeved some readers, a bit of happy ever after with the two chicks, well, as much as you can put in a short story and a lot of "I'm not comfortable with my body" which was a bit annoying. These books are read for the hot sex and that's what we're given. End of story.

I went into this not realizing two things, that it was a very short story, and that it is erotica (as opposed to the romance I typically read). Overall for an erotic short story, I thought it was good. I would have loved to have some kind of introduction to the characters, instead the story gets right into the action. I understand that you have to leave out details in short stories, but there is so much more I wanted to know about our two characters Sharon and Case. One thing that particularly stuck out to me is that the story is written in first person from Sharon's point of view and I realize that her name is never said in the story. I only knew it from the blurb. I even did a search for it in my Kindle, not one usage. I thought that was really odd.
Now the good things. The sex scenes were well written and I think that's important considering that is the majority of the story. There was also some romance and I really liked that Sharon and Case communicated with each other. I think the author tried to convey real emotion so it was more than just an erotic story.

I was a bit surprised when the first page got right to the action without any real introduction of the characters. It would have been nice to have at least a page or two of backstory. However, the erotic scenes were good and the body image portion of the short story added a little relevance beyond the erotica.

This short story, as almost all short stories do, leaves me wanting to know much more. I want to know why Sharon is so unconfortable with her body. I also want to know why Casey seems to have so much accumulated lust for Sharon. They are roommates, but before this scene there will have been a lot of sexual tension between them, it seems to me. And after that, how will their relationship evolve? And what I want to know the most is: Can we read sometime a novel starring these two women? I would really like it.

Well, this is one steamy hot short story. “Hard Body” by Renee Roman is an erotic tale about two housemates, Sharon Lane and Case Austin. Sharon has fantasies involving Case who is a firefighter with the body to match. When Case walks in on Sharon taking advantage of those fantasies for a little self gratification, fantasies become reality in a hurry.

This story does what we expect erotic tales are supposed to do. It is hot, explicit, and easily read in one sitting. There is a little bit of story line in the tale, but it is mostly about these two discovering they are attracted to each other sexually and taking advantage of that. If you want an explicit, sex filled story for a short read with a lover or even by yourself, this might be a story for you.

I was not aware this was a short story until I started it. To be honest, I didn't care much for it. It is basically a long sex scene. I can appreciate the positive body image reinforcement that is in the story, but I prefer a story that has character building. I couldn't feel anything for the characters getting together because I knew little to nothing about them. If had been a little bit longer, with a bit more in the beginning before anything happens between the characters I think I would like it more.

I wish I could have connected to the characters a little more. Overall it was a well written, solid, and quick read.

Look.. there's a reason we pick up erotic short stories, and we all know what that reason is, am I right ladies? Personally, I really love it when an erotic short can manage to combine hot sexiness along with real emotion and sensitivity. Stories that are all sex and wham bam just don't do it for me. I need that emotional connection in order to really get into and appreciate a story. With that said, this one had that nice blend of erotic and emotional that allowed me to really enjoy the read.

Sharon is mortified when her roommate (and long-time crush) Case catches her masturbating in her room when Sharon thought she was home alone. Their friendship is implied, but still, Sharon is shocked when Case immediately is turned on and wants to join her. The crux is that Case is a super hot firefighter with a fit and trim body to match, and Sharon sees herself as fat and unlovable. Actually, I can see how some people would be turned off by how much Sharon's negative body image seeps into this read, but I appreciated it personally. I liked seeing an extra layer of emotion in this read.

Case treats Sharon with love and care, showing her that she's truly turned on and wants Sharon. The sex is steamy but also sensitive to Sharon's feelings. If you're after a 15 minute read that has faceless characters but still a bit of body image sensitivity, this could be up your alley. I would have liked a bit more character building and maybe a bit more of their implied friendship, but all in all this is a good read for an erotic short. 3.5 stars.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. This is a short erotic read, it was very good. I do wish for a little more character development and the self consciousness of one of the characters bothered me. How the story started did not mesh with her body issues that were brought to light pages after.

This book is perfect to read on a hot summer’s day while sweating on the beach. It’ll leave the reader sweaty and wanting more. This is a steamy and sexy read!!

If you're after a 15 minute read with faceless characters, this could be just the ticket.

I would've liked a little more character building, or at the very least, hints of age, appearance, hair colour, etc. I know one had gold flecks in her eyes, but that's about it.

I love a good erotic story, but I want to be able to envision the characters, to feel their passion.

And to be honest, introducing a flawed character, obsessed with her body image, in such a short read, was a buzz kill for me.

This is the first I've read from this author and I'd definitely read more by her, just perhaps not a short story.

I had such high hopes for this, but unfortunately I was let down. I enjoyed the steaminess in this but it was just too short for my liking. I wish there was a little more to the story and the characters. The sex was great, but there was no story.

Glancing at other reviews, I realised that this was going to be a short story. Luckily, I love short stories. Sharon is mortified when her housemate catches her um, indisposed. Case is a fit and strong firefighter and has been the subject of many of Sharon’s dreams.

I enjoyed how much information was encompassed in so few pages. The sex is steamy but also sensitive, especially around Sharon’s own body image. Their friendship is subtly implied as is Case’s understanding of Sharon. It’s a lovely, short, erotic piece although there could have been a little bit more definition around the ending.

This was a good short erotic story.

It was a hot story about a encounter between roommates. I think Sharon and Case had chemistry I just wish it bulid up more. I did kinda wish we dive more into Sharon body issues. The sex was hot though.

Honestely, too fast, too much, too superficial. I didn't like the story because there is no character developement and the story line is flat. It's neither really steamy, not my story!

This erotic short story was decent. What I liked. The sex was hot. What I didn't like. It bugged me that Sharon had such bad body issues and too much emphasis was placed on it. It took away from the hotness of the story. I wish that maybe the time spent on body issues could have been build on some details about Sharon and Case. I think the story would have been better. I am still going to give this one 3 stars for the hot sex.

Hard Body is a short erotic story of a steamy encounter when one roommate walks in on the other during some quality self-love. The encounter itself is tantalizing, however I felt like I opened a book several chapters in. If you’re looking for a steamy encounter then this is it. Their chemistry and interplay had me plenty intrigued, so much so that I wish I was there for the appetizer before diving into the entree.

This story was really well written and the only complaint I have is that I wish there was more build up between the characters before everything in this story starts. I did enjoy that this was short, since it's sometimes nice to have a story to finish in one sitting.
