J Kenner is a newer to me author. She is not one that I have found myself gravitating toward in the past, but I enjoyed many of her Man of the Month books. So I was curious to read more by her, and picked up Broken with You. I very much enjoyed the suspense aspect of this book, and I really liked the characters. The plot was a little different than the typical romance books that I've read, which is definitely a plus for me. And while it wasn't necessary, I do wish I had read the first book in the Stark Security series first. I will go back and read Shattered with You, and look forward to the third book in this series!

I loved the stark series and this definitely lived up to my expectations! Another fabulous read from J Kenner! Thank you to NetGalley for the arc!

Broken With You is another great book by author J Kenner. This is the first book in this series with a female lead character. I think that was an interesting twist to the series. However, I did miss the alpha male lead characters from the past books in the series.

The two main characters, Denise and Mason, had great chemistry throughout the book! I can't wait to read more in this series.

I went into this book blind and even though I didn’t read any of the Stark books, I understood who was who.
Denise (Denny) works for a private security company. Her husband Mason has been undercover for the past 2 years for the government and she misses him.
When she gets the call that he’s been retrieved, but has lost his memory of her, she has to play by the rules and not tell him who she is.

I thought this was a good storyline. Started slow and then the last 30% it all came together. I will look out for Liam’s story!

I received this ebook copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

There is never a time that I have been disappointed with a novel by this author. How she keeps creating new stories that intrigue me and keep the interest level high is beyond my words! This is no exception but I would recommend that the prequel, Shadows of You, be read first. It makes the entire story make sense and fills in the blanks.

Mason and Denise both work for Stark Security, each with their own skills and risks every time they start an op. When Mason goes deep undercover for more than two years, Denise is having a hard time coping and thinking he will ever come back. And if he does, will he be the same man she knows? A Valentine’s Day visit from him helps her regain her courage and composure until he returns with no memories of her. An intense story with the HEA but no assurance that it will last!

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation promised or paid

This is my first book to read by J. Kenner. I was very impressed with the writing style and the pace of the book. The storyline was different than almost anything I had previously read. I am a fan of romantic suspense And this book did not disappoint. This is the story of Denise who is married to Mason who has been undercover for two years. Mason comes back, but has amnesia. This is the story of Denise, Mason, and their teams trying to find out what happened to him and safely get his memory back. I thought this book was well paste and I very much enjoyed it I look forward to the next book in the series.

This book is part of a series. If you didn't read the 2 prior you will not get lost. It goes over a bit what has happened. I was lucky to get the two prior books through J. Kenner arc team. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get this one which broke my heart. Until i found it on Netgalley i requested it asap. I'm so happy I was approved to continue this great series.

I so wanted to see if Denise will get her happy ending. Denise husband has been away for two years on a secret government mission. She has been surrounded by friends and family. But her life wasn't the same without her husband Mason. This book had drama, suspense, sexual angst and betrayal. Love J. Kenner and this series as well.

This was interesting story, sad at times, funny at others, with curve balls and an attraction that sizzled and scorched. I was compelled to finish it in a sitting, I could not put it down. This was also my first by the author so I have not read any of the others in the series or tie-ins which I did not feel was a problem. Honestly, I just enjoyed it and might just find myself reading the test of them at some point.

I want to thank NetGalley, J Kenner, and the publisher for an Arc of this book. I love romance and rom coms and this book definitely has the romance aspect but it was also quite different from what I am used to reading and the summary of the book really intrigued me. I was very excited to get a copy of it to read and review and let me tell you I breezed though this book.
Denise and Mason are married and blissfully happy. Mason is also a covert agent and is in a secret operation. When the operation goes bad he has no memory of who he is or what he does including his pregnant wife Denise. They tell him he is an agent and has vital information locked away in his head somewhere. For this reason they don't want to tell him anything more about his life for fear of losing the vital information for good. Denise has a hard time keeping from him the fact that they are married and having a baby and can't deny the still obvious chemistry between them but are they in more danger then they know?
I loved this book it has a sexy romance and suspense to it as well. It was like the best of both worlds and I loved Denise and Mason. This is the second book in the Stark Security series. I can't wait to read the first book.

2* Unfortunately this was a DNF for me, because of the alternating 1stP narrative and 3rdP narrative...

... and because the 'bad guy' revealed themselves a lot blatantly.

This was too confusing to read with the alternating narrative and a bit too far-fetched in asking me to believe that the Mason conversation that Denise/Denny had with Mason/Jack didn't result in his brain engaging. Seriously.

To be told that Denise's husband isn't around, that she's missed him, and later, the tattoo appears on her arm and he clocks that Mason isn't in fact dearly departed, but instead has been on a mission... and he still didn't suspect?

Nope. Not for me, but I persisted until a certain character arrived, had to be briefed on the spot and still managed to come close to messing up not once but twice, and then was pretty crude to someone supposedly his female friend whom he respected. At that point, I clocked who the bad guy was and couldn't be bothered discovering the whys and whats of the tale.

ARC courtesy of NetGalley and Olive and Martini for my reading pleasure.

I went into this book completely blind and I am glad that I did as it totally helped with the experience. I found that the book started off kind of slow but once it got moving it kept me invested and intrigued.

This book had mystery and suspense and action. I thought the story line was intriguing but felt like maybe something was missing, although I can't pinpoint exactly what. I did feel like I was left with some unanswered questions related to some holes on the story, but overall it was an interesting read.

I’m amazed at some of the lukewarm reviews I’ve seen of J. Kenner’s “Broken With You” because I could not put it down. This romantic suspense has got it *all* goin’ on: a riveting plot, solid characterizations the perfect amount of romantic tension, and a storyline that never flags or drags. Undercover spec ops agent Mason suddenly reappears after being on assignment for 2 years but he has no memory of who, what or where he is or why. Perhaps of more importance is that he has no memory of Denise, his wife and former partner. But she well remembers him and has never given up hope that he’s alive and will someday return. And did I mention that it’s very well written? The writing is tight and succinct, without fluffy fillers. No spoilers here. You’ll simply have to buy your own copy and immerse yourself in this romantic thriller. I won’t be surprised if this shows up as a movie someday. My thanks to Net Galley for providing this ARC (Advance Reader’s Copy) for an honest review. Five stars.

I really enjoyed Broken With You. Mason and Denny’s story, while still deep and emotional, wasn’t as dark as some J. Kenner books get (don’t get me wrong, I love those too!) so it was a bit of a breath of fresh air all while maintaining the level of intensity that you expect. She’s freaking brilliant!

I can’t wait for Liam’s story.

While I liked the idea of this book I really thought the first half was slow and drawn out while the last part went too fast. There was tons of build up and everything resolved without much detail. Characters were talked about like you should already know then all (and there were tons of them!). Quite a few things were pretty far fetched as well. Kinda made it harder to read.
I loved the Stark books but this definitely fell short.

I have always been a fan of Julie Kenner’s writing but had not read anything by her “aka” J. Kenner. Now that I have, I need to revise my “watch for” list and add J. Kenner books to the list. Denise Marshall Walker knows that her husband is involved in an undercover assignment, but when she finds out that he has returned, she is thrilled until she learns that he has no knowledge of her or their marriage. She cannot tell him who she is or that she is expecting their first child. Mason knows himself as “Jack” and that there is so much missing from his memory. He is eager to learn who he is and why Denise seems so familiar to him, but the doctor will not allow him to move any faster for fear of causing a complete mental break. When Denise is threatened, he only knows that he needs to protect her no matter what it costs him physically or mentally. A thrill ride full of emotion, romance and danger as Denise and Mason fight for their lives and their unborn child. Loved it and l am looking forward to the other books in the series! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
It was definitely a surprising read and better than what I expected. It had quite a lot of suspense and mystery surrounding the main characters, who you are sympathetic towards due to the author's writing. Yes, they are in a terrible situation and yet they power through, staying strong for one another.
A very easy read with some sweet moments, that keep you wanting to turn the page until the end.

Mason and Denise have such a unique story! I mean, it's got to be so hard when your husband can't remember himself or you, and giving him too much info can hurt him. But there's also danger lurking. Such a tricky, sticky situation. And absolutely captivating. I love whenever I'm drawn back into this world, and all the suspense, and all the couples that come together and kick butt! I really liked how different this love story felt than what I'm used to.

This one was a page-turner! I was fully engaged after just a few pages and didn't want to put it down. Denise has been waiting to get her husband back from an undercover operation, but when he finally appears, he has lost his memory. The story balances the mystery of what happened to Mason with the romance between Denise and Mason reconnecting despite his memory loss. The pacing was just right, it moved along, but I still felt like I got to know the characters. Denise and Mason are both tough, but with a softness toward each other that made their relationship believable even in the midst of a fantastic story. As the plot unfolds we get tension, angst, and suspense, but no unnecessary melodrama; it all flowed very well.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

An incredible addition to the ever-popular Stark Security Series. Mason Walker wakes up in a seedy hotel with no memory of who he is or where he belongs. when he checked in he gave the name of Jack Sawyer. Denise Marshall Walker has been missing her husband for two long years and when he is brought in she can't believe it's him. With the help of Stark Security and the agency he works for he begins slowly piecing things together but can he save Denise in time so they can get back everything that they missed.
An incredible Book with mystery, romance, uncertainty and the swoon-worthiness that is Damian Stark.

A heartbreaking romance infused with plenty of suspense, Broken With You grabs your attention from the first page and keeps it throughout the book. The story follows Mason, an undercover agent who wakes up with no memory and no knowledge of who he is. He’s been away for two years and his wife, Denise, is so happy to have him back... except he isn’t really. He doesn’t recognize Denise and has no idea that the beautiful woman he finds himself drawn to is his wife. In an attempt to preserve his lost memories, he is being eased back into everyday life and Denise can’t tell him who she is. That doesn’t stop Mason from wanting Denise, and he begins to feel immense guilt that he is lusting after a married woman.

It’s a complex story, but one that is filled with deep emotion. J. Kenner’s writing here is great - we truly feel for both Denise and Mason, because they are torn between following their emotions and doing what is right. Though their relationship takes center stage, there is a mystery throughout the book and plenty of suspense as they work to figure out what happened to Mason. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed stepping into the world of Stark Security and will definitely check out more of the author’s work in the future.
