I found this book to be very jarring. To be reading about Greek gods and such. But there are cars and other modern stuff.

I started this book and my mind went, oh this is a book about greek gods, a period piece, a piece of mythology. Then news broadcasts began and rock concerts were referenced and I realized, no this is more of a post apocalyptic science fiction novel more in the vein of the Hunger Games than it is Clash of the TItans and that is not a bad thing.

It took me a bit to get used to the setting and the world created but I found this book to be very well researched in the case of Greek Mythology (I even had to do some research to fix places I thought I knew right but in every case the author had it right) and most importantly the story works.

This is like The Hunger Games meets classic green mythology with some romance mixed in and it works. I had a lot of fun going through from character to character as our lead gets enmeshed with greek gods, interpretted as one would expect in modern times. It flows pretty fast, it moves quick, reads well, I found very little issues with the writing that distracted me and I had fun. There are a lot of good characters here that, though are not the deepest Ive seen,, work and are very relatable. I'd definitely give this book a solid recommend for fans of YA and Genre.

It's quite entertaining but a bit confused and I had some problem in understanding the world building.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This story had a very interesting premise, and being a sucker for any kind of mythology I definitely was excited! However, I think that it didn't exactly work. I will try to not have any spoilers for this review.

I enjoyed the idea of different mythologies co-existing but as the plot continued it did become confusing and I think the MC lost sight of her initial purpose. Also, it was frustrating that this is supposed to be a reverse harem book but it's definitely not as steamy as I expected.

Overall, it's not a bad premise but the execution could be better. I wonder if this will be redeemed in the second book.
