The Wonder of Now is the third book in the Sanctuary Sound series, written by romance author Jamie Beck…And…WOW! This one is incredible! Peyton Prescott documented her post-cancer diagnosis life in a heartfelt and private book that she and her brother, Logan, published. Staying with his talents, Logan photographed the moments to accompany her story. Mitch Mathis is the PR agent helping to promote Peyton’s book overseas…which is difficult with his family history, and his attraction to Peyton.

The way author Jamie Beck wrote this book was fantastic! Diving into personal feelings of someone trying to survive a double mastectomy, the after care, and emotions….GAH!!! So incredible! The passages Peyton read of her book was tear jerking, but amazing. The characters, love story, backstory, emotional recovery…were all wrapped together so beautifully! I couldn’t put this down. I wanted to read it until I knew what happened. I felt so deeply touched by this story. Even though it is in the series, you do not need to read the first two in order to enjoy this one. Absolutely fantastic read! 5 stars

The Wonder of Now by Jamie Beck such an emotional story. A woman who wants to move forward and a man who only wants to succeed and keep her in the past. What a heartbreaking and heartwarming story. Peyton Prescott wrote a memoir on her battle with cancer to share with others, but now she wants to live in the present. But her PR rep wants her to give her tour everything she has. This means living with the past over and over again.

Peyton was strong, determined and honest with her struggles. Mitch wanted to do his job and not let anything interfere, but he could not deny his feelings for Peyton. Together they learn more about each other and cannot fight the connection they feel. Their journey was not an easy one and will both gut you and warm your heart.

Happy reading!

A lighthearted contemporary romance, this is not. Contemporary, yes, and there is a romance, but this story is so much more. When I received an ARC of this book, I did not realize that it was part of a series. However, it did not impede the story at all. Breast cancer is the main topic of this book, and although I have never had breast cancer, I have been a caregiver for a couple of good friends, and this book hit home for me. As much as I liked Peyton and Mitch as a couple and their journey to find their HEA, the storyline of a young woman who is one year out from breast cancer surgery and treatment made this book so much more interesting. A great read, and a wonderful story.

I have been highly anticipating the release of The Wonder of Now. Author Jamie Beck did not disappoint in this emotional and heartbreaking story of forgiveness and healing. Ms. Beck has created beautiful characters who are flawed, but that is what makes them feel so real and the story raw.

Peyton Prescott hasnt always made the right choice. When she is diagnosed with breast cancer she begins to reevaluate her choices.

In the Wonder of Now Peyton is traveling on a book tour for the release of her memoir. She is not sure she is ready to bear her soul to the world. However her publicist, Mitch, is there to guide and support her. Will his support be just what she need?

This is the final book in the Sanctuary Sound Series. While it could be read as a stand alone I feel reading the first two books would be best.

I recieved and ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

I have been anxiously waiting for Peyton’s story and Ms. Beck did not disappoint!

THE WONDER OF NOW (Sanctuary Sound Book 3) by Jamie Beck is the third contemporary romance in this trilogy about three friends who dubbed themselves the Lilac Lane League growing up and their lives until they each find their HEAs. This can be read as a standalone, but there is character and back-story crossover.

Peyton Prescott is not the same carefree, world travel blogger she was before her breast cancer. She has survived a double mastectomy, reconstruction surgery and a year of baring her sole through words to go along with the pictures taken by her brother, Logan, a professional photographer, of her personal journey to be published as a book with half the proceeds going to fight cancer. Up until the cancer she led a privileged and spoiled life, but now she must find a way to face her new self in the mirror not just physically, but mentally also.

The first leg of publicity for the book is a tour through Europe. Logan is at home planning his wedding, so the publisher hires a publicist to accompany her.

Mitch Mathis has been responsible and disciplined ever since he lost his father to cancer while in high school. His new company’s success is riding on Peyton’s tour being a success. There are definitely sparks between the two, but Mitch has been burned before in an office romance and refuses to ever let personal feelings interfere with business again.

As the tour progresses, Mitch and Peyton’s attraction grows, but so do expectations, stress and miscommunications. Both need to decide if they are willing to be what the other needs.

All three of these books were about such emotionally strong women, but I especially loved this book. I have known many women who have gone through Peyton’s journey and others who have passed on and this book realistically covers so many of their fears and joys as I witnessed their terrifying and amazing journeys. Mitch and Peyton are a wonderful couple with a complex, flawed and slow burn romance that had my emotions engaged throughout. These characters and this book will stay with me for a long time to come.

I highly recommend this contemporary romance trilogy and for me, they only get stronger as they progress.

Absolutely loved this thought provoking book. The characters are realistic and genuine. Learning about survival isn’t easy. But being able to find love after survival is remarkable and difficulty. This book is written with such genuine affection and tenderness that I myself would love to hug the characters in real life!

Finally, Peyton’s book! This book, the last of a series of three, tells the story of Peyton, a cancer survivor who is also the woman who stole her best friends lover. Those two facts define her life at the present time. Her friend Claire is slowly forgiving her for her regrettable decision to take off with Claire’s boyfriend and has fallen in love with Peyton’s brother Logan.
Logan is another good/bad part of her life. During her cancer battle, Peyton allowed Logan to photograph the entire process and added her own observations which are now in a book. Peyton is reluctantly going on a press tour and opening herself up in city after city. But, she really doesn’t want to do it!
Adding to Peyton’s discomfort is her publicist, Mitch, who seems distant and dismissive. He has no compassion for her struggle over reliving the most horrible period of her life. Mitch has negative memories of cancer in his own life and he doesn’t share the information.
I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to have faced death, be confronted with the pictures of your body being destroyed and then rebuilt with fake parts, and have to go out and be “brave” day after day. Your health is iffy, your friendships on thin ice and you have to travel with an unfeeling pencil pusher-life is just a big ball of yuck. The moments of humor and happiness are bright lights in what could be a depressing story.
Ms. Beck keeps it real throughout this book. Some might see this story as being about a villain in earlier books who karma got in the end. There is no magic reconciliation with Claire because Peyton gets sick. Peyton does not become some brave survivor overnight. She and Mitch don’t see each other and love strikes. Peyton has to fight hard for every little victory and there is no guarantee of winning the war at the end. As in the earlier books, it’s a long road to happiness and it makes the end of the story that much sweeter.

I’ve been quite curious about Peyton from the beginning of this series. What motivated her to date her best friend’s ex-fiancé? What could she have possibly been thinking? Well, I didn’t exactly get the answers I was looking for in this story. Yet, I found that I got enough to know that Peyton is not as selfish and terrible as she first seemed. Or, at least she’s not that person now.

Mitch and Peyton have an instant connection and the author does a beautiful job of keeping that connection throughout the story. Their relationship, first professional and later personally, has many ups and downs. Somehow, through it all, that connection I spoke about kept me very optimistic that they could work through anything. For the most part, they did.

I didn’t get immersed in this story as deeply as I did with the previous two books, but it was still compelling and gave me a lot of feels. I was cheering for Peyton and Mitch both to get some kind of closure or understanding from their moms and families. At the same time I was waiting for them to start to understand one another…or at least really open themselves to their differences. I wasn’t disappointed on that point.

There was a bit of time that Peyton waffled on the line of annoying. She wasn’t expressing her needs and true feelings about the book tour to Mitch yet felt justified in getting upset and acting out in some situations. She’s not only eventually told to suck it up and speak up, but she starts to view things from more than her own perspective. All of that helps to redeem her in my eyes.

I’m hoping we will see at least one more book in this series in order for Ben to get his HEA. Even though this book didn’t live up to the other two in the series, it’s still an amazing read with a lot of emotions. Trust me, have some tissues ready with this one!

When I requested and was granted this book as an ARC from NetGalley, I didn’t know it was the third of a series. It wasn’t a problem, though, it can be considered as a stand-alone.
Peyton, a young woman from a privileged family, great-granddaughter of a famous icon writer, had everything for her, rich beautiful a job that she loved. The book starts two years after her life is turned upside down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her boyfriend left, but fortunately, her brother helped her through the journey. He made her write her memoir while he was illustrating them with pictures. She then starts a book tour in Europe.
A heavy subject very well wrapped in a rom-com. To me, it was more a woman fiction than a romance. I liked Peyton, how she struggled and fought to survive, and tried to be forgiven for the mistakes she made before the illness. I was less keen on the love story. I relished that Mitch is a “normal” good guy, not the recurring alpha male if romance novels. Unfortunately, I think that the story focuses too much on Mitch failures, his doubts, his mistakes not enough on his accomplishments and the asset he was for her. Moreover, I couldn’t feel the attraction or any chemistry between them and had trouble understanding what attracted her besides the fact that he is handsome.
Overall, it’s a good story, and I had pleasure reading it.

This book & series is definitely one of my favourites, author Jamie Beck has written another heart & soul grabbing story. As the daughter of a 2x breast cancer survivor & had a grandmother, aunt & cousin who died from this disease it definitely hit home. The feelings this book brought back were hard to deal with at first but watching Peyton’s battle was cathartic. Following Peyton as she relived her battle was sad with many tears shed but joy for her & Mitch when they each gave into their feelings overpowered the sadness. The struggle to keep positive & the fear of the cancer returning was always forefront in the story & made this book so real I felt like I was holding my breath many times. The strength of Mitch & his own history with the disease only made this story that much more compelling. I loved his seriousness when pertaining to his business & her book but most of all I loved his compassion & care towards Peyton. This book just has so many emotions it’s hard to put them all into words. To author Jamie Beck thank you for making me feel throughout this book. I definitely recommend this book.

Peyton Prescott may have been born into a life of wealth and affluence, but cancer is a great equalizer that doesn’t discriminate. At her brother's urging, Peyton documented her fight against this dreadful disease while Logan recorded his sister's journey through photographs. Their finished book is scheduled to release soon, and Peyton is off on a European tour to promote the book. She's not exactly eager to bare her soul to a roomful of strangers, but her highly organized publicist, Mitch Mathis, has her back and will support her every step of the way.

Gird your hearts, readers, because this story will put it through the paces with multiple tugs and a vast sea of emotions. Fiction or not, a character's journey through a battle against breast cancer resonates strongly with all of us. It’s not just a story of courage and strength, but an inspiring, uplifting story of growth, renewal, triumph and healing.

The characters are complex and beautifully flawed, making them endearing, relatable and beloved to the reader. They'll easily find themselves a place in your heart and their story will ensure that you experience everything alongside them. This is one of those books that leaves an indelible mark and will stay with you long after the last page. Get your copy of this emotional, uplifting, phenomenal read today. You won’t regret it!

If you followed the Sanctuary Sound series until now then you are familiar with who Peyton is. If not get caught up and feel the full impact of The Wonder of Now. This book and its feels. Pass the tissue and hold on tight. Peyton is everything and so much more in this one. She is a survivor and yet you still get this feeling with her that there is more to her. I love how she shines in this one. You get the good, the bad and the ugly. When Mitch enters the picture you can't help but hope that he is what is missing with Peyton. I love Mitch. He is a hard worker and yet loves his family so. He is a fixer and peacemaker. Throughout The Wonder of Now, you see a wonderful transformation in both Mitch and Peyton. They have this slow-building relationship that you can't help but love. I have to say this is my favorite book in the series. I laughed some and got misty-eyed while reading this one. I couldn't put it down.

This is the 3rd installment of the Sanctuary Sound series which focuses on Peyton and the events following her chemotherapy. She has finished her book about her experience and battle with cancer and is now set to go on a world book tour- much to her dismay. She just wants to get back to regular life and put her cancer behind her, but that's difficult for her when she has to keep rehashing the events in the book and the emotional toll that the past several years have taken on her. It's hardly the ideal time- or setting- for her to even think about romance, but has it somehow found her when she wasn't looking? Can she accept that somebody would truly be interested in her after all that the cancer has put her through both emotionally and physically? The Wonder of Now is a rollercoaster of emotions and is a nice little quick read. It may be my favorite of the series as Peyton teaches some very important life lessons. It's never too late for forgiveness, especially forgiving yourself.

So I was absolutely thrilled to be chosen to receive an advanced copy of a book by an author that I love and a series I’ve really enjoyed. It was with much nervous trepidation that I began this book as I did not really like Peyton all that much. I felt badly and wanted her character to recover and be healthy, but did know how I was going to read entire book based on and around her. Yes we all make mistakes and maybe what she did to her friend hit close to home, but I didn’t think I was going to like this as much as the others in the series. Then there is Mitch. All business, very stiff and seemingly quite judgmental. I thought oh great, two people I don't like much. I was so very wrong. I loved this book. I started reading it and the next thing I knew I was completely in and grew to really care about both of them. Their development as individuals personally and professionally and eventually as a couple was nothing short of a lovely, smart, fun and heartwarming read while addressing serious issues. They ultimately brought out the best in each other. The first few days of their business trip to promote the book of her journey and survival of from a breast cancer diagnosis was difficult at best. They are two very different people with different agendas. They initially managed to figure out how to deal with each other which soon turned to like, respect and eventually into love. They brought out the best in each other while still being who they each are, but better versions of their former selves. Plus a realistic HEA is always fun to read! This is a wonderfully written story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster and is well worth the ride.

Payton is strong!

Peyton Prescott isn’t so sure about promoting her book in Europe that she has co-written on surviving breast cancer with her brother, but she has promised her publisher that she would. Publicist Mitch Mathis wanted Peyton’s book to hit the best sellers list because he wanted to get more contracts with the company. Peyton and Mitch butted heads right away because he wanted to have everything planned out and Peyton wanted to enjoy another day.

The Wonder of Now shows that love can be found in the middle of the most difficult times in your life. Peyton didn’t want to put Mitch through really not knowing what the next day would bring after he had been the main caregiver when his father dies of cancer because his mom had to work to pay the bills. Mitch decided that he wanted to be with Payton no matter what was happening.

Jamie Beck has written a book that shows that love can overcome anything even cancer.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Profound and emotional, this serious romance tackles finding love after breast cancer. Peyton is a beautiful woman who used to have no trouble attracting men, and though she’s made some bad decisions in her past, fighting for her life changed her perspective on a lot of things. During her illness, she let her photographer brother document the whole process, and now it’s time for a book to be released that tells the whole story. To others, this should be a celebration of her success, but Peyton doesn’t feel like a woman who is fully healed. Her cancer left not only physical but emotional scars, and though she finds herself inconveniently attracted to her PR guy, Mitch, she’s not sure that she’s ready for romance. Mitch is still reeling from a failed office romance, so he’s doing everything in his power to resist his attraction to Peyton, but hearing more about her story just draws him to the woman she’s become.

I’m not going to lie, this is a pretty heavy book. It’s focused on breast cancer, self-worth and healing from start to finish, so there’s not a lot of lightness. I did love the relationship between Peyton and Mitch (and would’ve loved even more of it). Mitch is such a great guy, steadfast, patient, and he balances out Peyton perfectly. It’s a slow burn romance that takes a little while to get brewing, but I loved the payoff for these two. The heaviness definitely weighed me down at times, but it’s a stark and realistic portrayal of something women around the world face every day - finding the strength to move forward after illness, and learning that you’re worth it. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this complex and emotional romance.

Book 3 in the Sanctuary Sound Series. This story follows survivor Peyton as she starts her PR trip for her and her brother, Logan, book that follows Peyton’s breast cancer journey thru chemo. Peyton is embarking on an European book tour to promote their book, along with Mitch, her PR guru.

This book feels more like a stand alone, then a series. But, to learn the emotional baggage of the characters more intently, you should read the previous two. Beck does a great job of making you feel Peyton’s fear, regret and uncertainty of her situation.

I received an ARC of this book, opinion is mine alone.

4 1/2 stars. This is such a wonderful book in a series I have thoroughly enjoyed. I've been waiting for Peyton's book and I knew it was going to be amazing yet hard to read at times but that it would also be a heartwarming and touching story, and I was right. Jamie Beck brings us deep into the thoughts and feelings that Peyton went through and still goes through because of her cancer and how her life has changed because of it. It is beautifully written, very emotional and totally satisfying. Mitch and Peyton find something in each other that neither was even looking for but turns out to be exactly what the other needed.

Thanks NetGalley and publisher for this opportunity. The book was very emotional and sometimes very hard for me, the main characters and plot was ok and I will read other books in this series, definitely. Jamie Beck is a new author for me, she is a great storyteller and this book deserves 4 stars.
