I’m not a big fan of clowns. I’m not phobically scared of them, I’m just not that keen! After reading this though, I think my not liking them went up a notch or two. Rachel is suffering from PTSD, not helped by the fact she is certain someone is watching her. Knox joined the hunters before he knew who they really were, and it’s a decision he has regretted ever since. Together, these two need to figure out both of their problems as well as those of the job they have been assigned to. Sounds like fun!

This is book ten in the series although you can read it as a standalone, as I have. Yes, there were times when I would have liked more information, but that is the risk you take when you read a book in a series you haven’t read from the beginning. On the whole, though, I found this to be engrossing and would certainly say it stood on its own feet.

The story itself is well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed. Some of it was clear to see, other parts were shrouded in mystery, keeping me on my toes as I read. There was also plenty of anticipation and build-up between our two main characters which only added to the story, in my opinion.

A brilliant read and the series is now on my TBR pile! Absolutely recommended by me.

NetGalley always has the best books to review. I was in the mood for an Alpha female and Alpha male romance and this book didn't disappoint.

Another awesome SWAT book by Ms. Tyler. Each one is as good as the last. Good characters and a wonderful plot.

Wolf Rebel is an edge of your seat, nail biting dose of paranormal romantic suspense with a touch of nerve wracking horror to top off what is in my opinion one of Paige Tyler’s best books in the entire SWAT series! I just could not put this book down! I’m a huge fan of this series, and I have enjoyed all the books, but Rachell and Knox’s story is in a category all its own and in the best way.

Werewolf and SWAT member Rachel Bennett has been having nightmares about the horrific attack that turned her into a werewolf and they’re getting worse and worse. She hopes that being assigned to a high profile protective detail will help keep her mind distracted, except that she’ll be working with none other than the werewolf hunter she let get away months ago when her pack was attacked. Irony of ironies, the hunter is now a werewolf and he desperately wants Rachel to help him understand what that means. In his defense, Knox thought he was on the “good” side until he saw what the hunters were capable of and when they set their sights on destroying Rachel. While Rachel doesn’t trust Knox, she agrees to help him and the added bonus is that Knox’s presence keeps the nightmares away, at least for a while.

What stands out to me with the SWAT series is that while the majority of the team is comprised of hunky alpha males (all the members are alphas), there are a handful of alpha females, REAL alpha females who lead and stand BESIDE the males who have the utmost confidence in their abilities. Rachel is one of these alpha females and I just love her. She’s such a confident, kind, capable wolf so to see her brought so low by her nightmares was jarring and definitely made me take the antagonist seriously. Also, that antagonist? Plucked straight from my own nightmares and in frighteningly elaborate detail. Tyler really outdid herself this time, she’s a freaking Rockstar. I didn’t know whether to be impressed or terrified of how well this villain was written.

Wolf Rebel reminds readers that the series is also about the bonds that are shared between the SWAT pack. This group is tight knit and willing to do anything for each other and that definitely shows when they find out Rachel needs help. They don’t treat her like a damsel in distress, she’s one of their own and she needed backup. It was great. I really couldn’t get enough of this book and I highly recommend the whole series to anyone looking for great characters, fast paced action, and an author with a great sense of humor.

Werewolf cop Rachel is haunted by a murderous man in a clown suit. He keeps popping up to terrorize her due to her PTSD. But is it PTSD? Knox is an ex Navy SEAL and new werewolf trying to find his way. Is Rachel his way? Sexy hot, scary at times and thrilling always Wolf Rebel has engaging characters and a satisfyingly twisty plot. Although it is part of a series this book can easily be read as a standalone.
I winked recommend this to my patrons.

Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

DNF 16%

Holy crap was this book confusing! Too many characters introduced far too quickly with too many side stories.

We start with a prologue that grabs your attention from the first page. Don't get too attached though because it's almost as if that becomes a forgotten piece of the story. At least it's not mentioned again in the first 16% of the book that I read. Maybe it comes back later.

We're then introduced to probably more than a dozen characters in a chapter or two. There's so many side stories going on that it's easy to forget who the key players are.

I quickly lost interest and gave up.

After Wolf Instinct I was glad I didn't have to wait months and months (like after Wolf Rising) for another of my favorite werewolves hunkies of SWAT. This time it is Rachel who is feeling like she is going crazy after the attack on the compound. Ever since she was nearly shot by one of the hunters, she feels like she is being followed. Just when she thinks she has lost it, it turns out that she actually was being followed.
Knox knew exactly what he turned into when he felt his arms change into claws and his eyes began to glow. Since turning his back on the hunter group, which was after werewolves, how ironic to be turning into one. But as he doesn't know how to control his new temper and how to prevent from shifting in public, he needs help. And since Rachel is the one, who had him at gunpoint, but didn't shoot him, he decides to try to ask her for help. But how to confront her? Well... the creepy stalker technique isn't working very well. But when he hears her screaming at night, he comes to her rescue. Only to find that Rachel was hunted by a nightmare.
Rachel keeps having nightmares, which get creepier and creepier. Mixed with the feeling of being stalked, doesn't do very well with her mood and physique. So, when she meets Knox, she really wants to kill him. Recognizing him as the hunter, who got away certainly doesn't help things. But why does she confide her nightmares to him? And why does it feel good to be around him? Certainly, fate won't be so cruel as to make him her One? Would it? But it's not like she can check it with her pack mates. Because they would kill Knox first and ask questions later...
So, yet another great read, with some suspense and some unexpected twists and turns. Sit back, relax and enjoy SWAT Alpha Team number 10! Awaiting number 11 and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. I have read the entire SWAT series by Paige Tyler to date and have enjoyed them all.. This is book 10 in the series which at this point can sometimes make a plot line get redundant with some others. I did not find that to be the case with this book. The author is taking the books in a whole new direction and adding new plots which will keep you hooked.

This book follows Rachel, who was a key player in book 9, and Knox, a former navy seal who is turning into a werewolf. There is a nice little twist to this book regarding the circumstances of Knox and Rachel's first meeting that I won't give away but it is good. The main premise of this book is that Rachel (from the SWAT team) and Knox (working for an independent contractor) have to work together to protect a the lawyer of a high profile case. Rachel agrees to help Knox navigate the changes he's encountering and Knox agrees to help Rachel with her PTSD from her own change that has started to occur again. What Knox and Rachel don't realize, is that her nightmares have a strange twist.

This was a great book and I enjoy the way the author is expanding the paranormal world in the books. This series is a fun and fast read and there is always some good humor thrown in. Books can always be read as a stand alone but it is fun that you still get some interaction with the characters from the previous books.

This is a solid entry to the series. I don't think it has the urgency or the previous books, and I wasn't drawn in the way I was previously. Still, this was an engaging read.

Rachel was a cop in Tennessee when she goes on a call to a local cemetery. She finds a girl cut up and tries to get her out but is attacked by a man dressed as a clown. When she almost dies, that’s when the wolf DNA kicked in and she turned. Now she lives in Texas, part of a pack, and a member of the S.W.A.T team. She has been having nightmares, seeing things, and smelling strange smells. Knox is a former SEAL turned who got involved with hunters. They are people that what to kill all werewolves. When they group crashes a pack mates reception, Rachel is about to be shot but Knox steps in the way and gets shot in the leg. When he turns into a wolf, he finds Rachel to get her to help him. Knox is working at a security company and they are hired to protect a D. A prosecuting a horrible man. Rachel’s team is also hired and she gets paired up with Knox. Will they have to give each other up when her pack finds out he was a hunter or will they forgive him?
I freaking loved this story! Plenty of action and mystery. A little loving and romance. I do believe this is my favorite in this series. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

This was a great book! I have read the others in the series but this one had a bit more of a thriller feel to it along with romance, action, and some mystery worked in. Rachel and Knox story was really good to read about and I have to say my favorite in the series. If your looking for a really good read this is it, you won’t be disappointed .

Tyler’s newest book in the SWAT series did not disappoint.

Each of her latest installments have been adding in more supernatural elements to the SWAT world, and Wolf Rebel continues that cycle by adding in more past the vampires and werewolves. Now we have more creatures and spirits like a nachtmahr that our favorite SWAT team has to learn to deal with, along with the help of their expanding network of connections.

I have loved Wolf Rebel before I even began reading the book because it features my favorite trope: enemies to lovers. And after reading, I love it even more!

Readers are introduced to Knox in the same manner that Rachel is, in the whole what the heck is this guy doing way. So we don’t really trust him, and we are waiting for the explanation just as much as she is.

And they have such a unique relationship because Rachel is not trying to hide Knox from the rest of her pack, and the pack members that she does confide in are pretty supportive of the whole thing. And Knox is so supportive of Rachel and all of the decisions she makes, even when things go against his better judgement and his protectiveness of his mate. It makes Knox kind of a feminist, and I am all about that.

There is no silly angst or drama between these two, instead once they clear up Knox’s weird stalking habits, there is an instant connection and romance. After Rachel’s overprotective packmates have a conversation with Knox, they also support the relationship. Which is a nice and refreshing take on the whole situation that could have gone very differently.

I love so many things about this story, from the feminist Knox, to the female best friend SWAT pack members, to the refreshing take on Rachel finding out she is a werewolf and not immediately thinking that she is a monster like many of her other packmates.

And finally, the typical Tyler humor that shines in each of her books shows in what may be my favorite conversation in this entire story:

"Why do all of this?"
"And from the expression on his face, it was like she'd just asked him to do a complicated math problem in his head" .

I was laughing so hard because I can clearly picture that face. It is that intense look of concentration on a guy’s face when you ask them any kind of in-depth question. And I am totally going to describe it like this from now on.

After reading this book, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one...Diego’s story perhaps?

With a rapidly growing menagerie of paranormal creatures injecting new life into the SWAT series, ‘Wolf Rebel’ is a fun and campy, enemies-to-lovers with a twist story as Paige Tyler ups the ante here with more than just repetitive storylines of werewolves obsessed with finding their mates. Whether Tyler has consciously done this deliberate kink in the growing narrative arc or not, it’s one I can definitely appreciate—it does keep things fresh if you’re concerned with the onset of reader-boredom that far down this series.

A malicious entity taking the form of an evil clown, a traumatised cop and an ex-SEAL turned ex-hunter turned werewolf (how’s karma for that?) find themselves tangled in a thriller-romantic suspense mix that thankfully doesn’t cut too deep in order to retain its entertainment value. Essentially, ‘Wolf Rebel’ took a direction that I wasn’t expecting but it was easy to hop on for the squinty-eyed ride as shapeshifters, vampires and other paranormal things came together with faint echoes of Stephen King’s IT tied to even fainter echoes of gothic (?) horror.

Rachel Bennett and Knox Lawson might seem an unlikely pair, but Tyler writes them in a way that does work with the multiple obstacles that they both face. Their getting together isn’t as drama-laden as I thought it would be; external circumstances bring them together so that means there isn’t overt conflict for the sake of deliberately tearing a couple apart before some third party intervenes to drive them back together.

Suspension of disbelief is par for the course, but ‘Wolf Rebel’ seems to have regained that panache I thought the series started lacking in the middling few books, with a newly expanded arc that bodes pretty well for future books.
