This is a 3.5 star review. Charlene Morris is a widow looking for a change so she moves to Salem, Massachusetts to open a Bed and Breakfast. The Bed and Breakfast however already has a guest, the ghost of the previous owner Jack Strathmore. He believes he was murdered and they set out to solve it. I liked the Bed and Breakfast and Salem setting. The main character however was very immature and I did not warm to her. I did like some of the supporting cast and her cat. The mystery was OK but it was easy to solve. It was a quick read.

This was a fun cozy that was such a joy to read and I absolutely loved the backdrop of this one. An old historic mansion converted into a B & B in Salem which is haunted by an attractive ghost. Wanna help him solve the mystery of how he died? The back and forth banter between ghost and our main character here, Charlene is laugh out loud funny and the rapport is undeniable. I enjoyed it overall and definitely going to be reading the rest of this series.

A young widow wanting to make a fresh start leaves behind Chicago to open a bed and breakfast in Salem, Massachusetts. The estate is as beautiful as she expected, but what she didn't expect was a ghost. Dr. Jack Strathmore died three years before and has been haunting his house ever since. He begs Charlene for her help when he realizes she can see him--find his murderer, for he is sure he's been murdered despite the official report.

I enjoyed my time in Salem, getting to know the characters and area just as Charlene did. Charlene is anxious to make it work--her new business and her new life. She misses her husband terribly, but finds Jack's charms hard to resist. And then there is the detective, Sam, whose interest in Charlene is obvious from the start. Charlene has her own gift for charming people--but her pointed questions about Jack's past stir up the ire of several of the town's residents. Especially when someone else ends up dead. There are plenty of suspects and motives to go around, and while some secrets I suspected early on, it took me awhile to work out who was behind it all in the end.

Traci Hall and Patrice Wilton writing as Traci Wilton have written an entertaining mystery. I enjoyed every minute of it. I cannot wait to see what Jack and Charlene's next mystery will entail--and to see what Silva is up to. Who can resist a cuddly cat? Not me, that's for sure. And oh, how much I would love to stay at Charlene's Bed and Breakfast!

This is a wonderful book. I love the main character along with the supporting characters. The bed and breakfast seems like a wonderful place to stay. The town, stores and surrounding businesses really add to the story line. This is a book that will not disappoint. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I didn't care for this one. To make the plots work, cozy mystery heroines have to be a little pushy and ask a lot of questions, but Charlene seemed extra aggressive, calling up people she'd never met to ask about their relationships with a man she can't admit that she's ever met (because he's a ghost.) I also couldn't get past the idea that she was opening a bed and breakfast in a house she bought sight unseen in a tourist town she's only briefly visited.

Description
Charlene Morris knew Salem, Massachusetts had a spooky reputation. But when she decided to open her B&B there, she expected guests—not ghosts…

A grieving young widow, Charlene needed a new start—so she bought a historic mansion, sight unseen, and drove from Chicago to New England to start turning it into a bed-and-breakfast. On her first night in the house, she awakens to find a handsome man with startling blue eyes in her bedroom. Terror turns to utter disbelief when he politely introduces himself as Jack Strathmore—and explains that he used to live here—when he was alive. He firmly believes that someone pushed him down the stairs three years ago, and he won’t be able to leave until someone figures out who. If Charlene wants to get her business up and running in time for the Halloween tourist rush, and get this haunting houseguest out of the way, she’ll have to investigate. Though truth be told, this ghost is starting to grow on her . . .

My Review
I loved Mrs. Morris and the Ghost. Traci Wilton did a great job in the story-line. I for one am partial to stories written in 'Salem" - so obviously this book was intriguing.

So glad I picked up this book. The characters are well-written, the plot is believable and enjoyable, and it left me wanting for more.

Great job, highly recommend this book!!

This book had me totally confused. I lived a lot of it, and I did not like some if it. I liked the plot. I just did jot like how the book was composed. Overall 4 stars for plot and creativity. 1 star was taken off for the fact that it took a while for me to get into it. Overall good read.

Tracy Wilton introduces Charlene, widow, who moves to Salem and is converting an old house to a bed and breakfast. Mrs. Morris meets a ghost, the last owner of the house, who believes he was murdered. Jack had a very murky relation with his wife and other people in Salem. Charlene follows her suspicions and then Jack's widow is murdered. Whodunit? Lots of suspects. Good cozy supernatural mystery.

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost by Traci Wilton is about Charlene Morris and her B&B. She didn’t realize she would have ghosts mixed in with her guests. Charlene buys a historic mansion and turns it into a B&B. She didn’t realize that the previous owner, handsome Jack Strathmore, was haunting the mansion. He wants her to solve the mystery of who pushed him down the stairs to his death three years prior. He cannot leave the house until she does. I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good plot and well developed characters. There were many suspects but Charlene is on the trail of the killer

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost by Traci Wilton is the first book in the cozy A Salem B&B Mystery series. As with most cozy mystery series each book can be read by themselves or in any order as they contain and solve their own mystery stories inside.

After losing her husband Charlene Morris needed a fresh start in new surroundings so she decides to move from Chicago to New England. Charlene found a wonderful historic mansion in Salem and thought starting her own bed and breakfast in the touristy town would be the change she needed.

When arriving in her new home Charlene knew the B&B would need some work before her planned opening but when she never expected to find with her purchase was the ghost of the previous owner. Jack Strathmore believes that he was murdered three years before and not knowing who killed him has him trapped in the mansion so now that Charlene has arrived and can see him he asks for help solving his murder.

With fall arriving there’s not a better time for a quirky cozy with a ghostly presence. Mrs. Morris and the Ghost was a fun read from beginning to end with a crazy amount of laughs considering we should be concentrating on solving a murder. Definitely a series that is right up my alley in having lots of fun mixed with the suspects and twists.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Such a cute cozy! I love that even though Charlene bought a haunted house, she doesn’t capitalize on her ghost when opening her B&B. Considering that it is located in Salem, that is pretty unusual!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book which, I voluntarily chose to review.

My thoughts

Would I recommend it? Yes

Will I be reading more of the series ? Yes

Would I read more by this author ?yes

Once again Kensington Publishing has won me over with a great start to a new to me series , it has everything in it that I love about a cozy mystery ,and in a way it reminded me of an old black and white movie I grew up watch called The Ghost and Mrs. Muir

(1947), and it even had me laughing at times , wither it was the ghost , Charlene or the cat that just showed up and decided that it owned Charlene and the house , and the story its was such a fun read and enjoyable that i didn't want to put it down , it's was never slow going and has a nice place to it , as well as enjoyable characters and a bit of mystery as well as a ghost ,a maybe murder , a pushy cat , and has plenty of surprised as well as an ever growing list of suspects , and it also has a feeling like there might be a new romance on the horizon for Charlene . With that said I want to thank Netgalley as well as Kensington for letting me read and review it and I'm so looking forward to the second book.

Princess Fuzzypants here: When Charlene buys an old house in Salem to turn into a boutique B & B, she is trying to pull together a life that was shattered by the sudden death of her husband. She expects new beginnings but not quite what she finds: the spirit of the previous owner who cannot move on for an unknown reason and a grey Persian who arrived with her furniture and adopted her.
Jack, the ghost, believes he was murdered although the death certificate says he died of natural causes. He is a lost soul in many ways who can manifest but is not seen by anyone but Charlene and the cat. The three lonely creatures form a family of sorts and Charlene starts asking questions that ends up with one suspect dead and her own life threatened. Jack, who is basically a nice guy, was not perfect and he made some mistakes that would cost him his life. He cannot recall who committed the deed but doubts it could be anybody close to him.
It all comes to a head in an exciting and sad way. I don’t want to spoil the plot but I didn’t see it coming nor did any of the characters.
I liked it more than I thought I would so I give it a happy five purrs and two paws up. Let’s see if the author can follow up with another winner.

Traci Wilton has provided a new series focused around a mansion, a young woman escaping a bad situation, a ghost, and a mystery cat. Charlene Morris has moved from Chicago to Salem, Massachusetts with hopes of converting an old mansion into a bed and breakfast. Little did she know that the mansion came with a ghost, Jack. When I started reading the book, it had a feel like the old television show, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, but this book contained a mystery of who killed Jack and why. Charlene works towards transforming the old mansion into a bed and breakfast while attempting to help Jack solve who killed him. Along the way she is adopted by a mystery cat who has decided Charlene should be it's owner. I enjoyed the story's plot and even the touch of a romance entwined within it. The characters were believable and well developed. Hopefully the second book will be out soon.

This is a charming paranormal cozy series set in Salem which is perfect for a early fall read. This is the first book in the fabulous new "Sal.am B&B" cozy mystery series. I loved the author's descriptions of Salem. Settle in and prepare to be entranced by this wonderful cozy mystery.

Charlene Morris has left the hustle and bustle as well as bad memories of Chicago behind. She has moved to Salem with a B&B in mind and has created a plan to move forward with her business. He connects with Charlene and asked her to do some detective work surrounding the circumstances of his death, During her investigation she meets a handsome detective and soon they are developing feelings for each other.

I loved the charcters and the location is perfection. The addition of a talking ghost and a ghost resident is fun and written lightly with humor. The sleuth was well crafted and had a pleasing conclusion. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity to read this fun new cozy series. I am sure this next in series will be a delight. I highly recommend this series.
