Oh, wow, oh, wow! This book was absolutely incredible! I was on pins and needles the whole time, because this was a pretty intense book! Between the fact that it is titled War, and the immense cliffhanger of the last book, well, so much of this book never slowed down! It was so incredible to read!

Oh, and I just have to start off with that this book is a huge hulking book, and I'm in love with that fact! There was just so much story to tell and for us to read, and that's just amazing and I loved every single wonderful page!

I just had to know how things were going to play out with Raphael and Elena circumventing the Cascade's attempts to make her a mindless battery for him. And this book didn't disappoint! Loved dealing with all that, it was incredible to read!

You see the cover? That means it's not a spoiler to tell you that Elena has lighting wings. She is the first angel-made, though they did break Cassandra's prophecy, so I don't know if this wasn't originally seen or not. But it's something new for Elena to deal with, which was so interesting to read!

Of course, the Cascade isn't done with them yet, and its shenanigans are growing more and more disruptive! Like, you know how the Cascade where Cassandra got her power of visions was called the Cascade of Terror? This one got a name, too, one that is well earned!

There were two bits of information/speculation. One on the nature of the Cascade, of possibilities behind it, the why of it, that'd I'd be interesting to learn more about. The other, was a direct reveal after we've had some hints in previous books. I just loved that!

Ok, after the end of this book, this world is irrevocably changed. So much happened, it's never going to be the same again. Some of that is good, because it should've never been like that. But some of the losses, man, they hit hard! I just want to see what's going to happen next!

Wow, this book was just so incredible, and I can't wait to see where this series goes from here! We still have Aodhan's & Illium's books to find happiness, and any more Raphael and Elena books would be amazing!

ARCHANGEL'S WAR will blow you away! It will have you laughing, crying, and probably swearing a couple of times, but, of course, only at the bad guys. This is one book that readers will want to read over and over and each time finds something they missed as if words were secretly hidden on the pages.

Really awesome book. So many things happened, so many questions answered, so many possibilities for future books. This book satiates the lingering questions from Archangel’s Prophecy, while at the same time opening new questions, and possible story lines. Like other reviewers i’ll decline to discuss specifics so as not to spoil the adventure of this book; I will say however that this is a book that I will read multiple times.

Fantastic, much awaited story! Only Nalini Singh could close up this storyline in such a thorough and satisfying way. Loved the evolution of the characters, the surprises, the alliances and betrayals. It's always great to visit with Rafael and Elena but so wonderful to see the evolution of the other characters. I loved, loved, loved this book!

I loved loved loved this book. I cannot say well, really anything without, you know giving away the surprises. This book was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat from the get go.
We get to visit some old friends (thank you) and find out some secrets.
This may be one of Nalini's best books yet!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

THIS BOOK IS INSANE.

Seriously, chaos. War comes to the planet, and the characters we've come to know and love have to fight to save their world. Like, the WHOLE world.

I don't know how to write this review without spoiling anything, and as this book is a COMPLETE GAMECHANGER for the series, I don't want to spoil even a little bit for you.

There was a little monotony in the battles in the second half, but all in all, great book and an excellent installment in the series. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book... which is hopefully the book I've been waiting for.

Highly recommended with one caveat - read the rest of the series first, if you haven't.

There's not a measurement available that can handle the level of excitement I was at when Archangel's War landed on my Kindle. After the ending the Archangel's Prophecy, I was on tenterhooks waiting, waiting, waiting for resolution to the cliffhanger I never saw coming and still haven't forgiven Nalini Singh for. (Okay, I've forgiven her, but I was STUNNED when I first read Prophecy.) And oh, what a resolution it was . . .

My lips are zipped about what happens, but here's my thoughts in a sentence: Archangel's War is an explosive, addictive, wild ride.

I've always praised Ms. Singh on her world-building—her attention to detail is intense and her ability to pay of the smallest of clues years after they're first seeded in first-rate—and this book is another prime example of what she is capable. Lovers of the Guild Hunter books will be overjoyed to finally have the resolution they've craved, and hopefully will enjoy the experience as I did.

Long live this series. I'm back on tenterhooks waiting to see what will happen next!

Archangel’s War by Nalini Singh is the 12th book in her fantastic Guild Hunter series. WOW That is all I can say, as I kept thinking about this book all through the night. Nalini Singh is such an amazing author, and she has outdone herself with this book. I can’t get over the mind-boggling action from start to finish, and that she keeps the flow going so seamlessly. Bravo…Archangel’s War was an epic fantastic exciting, action pack thrill a minute. I have always loved Elena and Raphael, but in Archangel’s War they have fully taken my heart.

We have been waiting for this war, as it has been leading up to this for a while, and we begin months after the last book left off, with Raphael and Elena being woken up by the havoc of the Cascade going wild. All of the countries are being violently affected, with total chaos (earthquakes, horrific storms, terrible lightening, etc), which is also waking up ancients who have been asleep for many years.

But they also discover something weird happening in China, which has all the Archangels working together to stop what is coming. Lijuan, the Archangel of Death, has become the ultra-powerful mad woman all the other archangels feared, and war is closer than they thought. In a short time, all hell breaks loose, with all suffering; but New York (Raphael’s territory) is severely taking a beating that had me holding my breath throughout the entire book. Who will survive is the big question? Can Lijuan be stopped?

Because this is a masterpiece, I cannot tell too much more, as the whole book is filled with spoilers. Archangel’s War is an intense, emotional, suspenseful roller coaster of a ride that is not to be missed. I could not put this book down, constantly on the edge of my seat. Nalini, I bow down to you, as you are a master story teller. If you have not read this series, do not start with this book. Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. For those who have read this series, you are in for a fantastic read. Nalini Singh is one of my top favorite authors, and if you are not reading her books, you need to start now. No one does world building & fantastic characters better than Nalini Singh.

I stayed up all night reading this one and don't regret it one bit.
I will say that Archangel's War is slower to start that the earlier books in the series but once the action kicks up it doesn't let down and you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat unable to stop turning the pages.
All the big guns come out for a battle we knew was coming and Lijuan is proving to be a much more frightening foe that we had anticipated!
Action, Love, it's a full on battle royale!

Holy moly, this is one powerful and emotional rollercoaster ride. Tough, heartbreaking, with moments that make you laugh and moments that make you cry. Archangel's War is incredible and brings the Lijuan story line to a satisfying ending.
This book left me in a complete book hangover, which is basically turned around and read it again.
I want more Guild Hunter books right now! I know a lot of fans are waiting for Bluebell and Aodhan, but I just want more Elena and Raphael.

Archangel's War is the newest installment in the Guild Hunter series now before I begin I would like to mention that this won't be too long of a review, and much shorter than what I normally do. I honestly just don't want to spoil this book for anyone and so I am not going to go into plot details or anything of that nature today just because I know how many of you are eager to read this book. I am truly blessed that I was able to have access to the ARC copy of this story. I honestly never expected it but Berkley has really been gifting me great books and this was at the top of my list of books to read this year and honestly, there is something about this series that I love more than any other Urban Fantasy series. What I have truly marveled at is seeing how incredible this author has in balancing out this incredible world-building but also maintaining the romance focus. THIS NEVER HAPPENS IN UF by the way so I truly appreciate the way this author balances out both worlds so seamlessly.

Archangel's War is a truly power-packed story, and boy to see what happens in this story is EPIC and life-changing is so many ways that you don't quite see coming. This author definitely is one that will keep you on your toes with this one. I was very impressed with the flow and how she worked all the elements together. I wasn't quite sure how it would end or anything....NO WORRIES no cliffhanger in this one. *Whew* I was worried about that one too. But Nalini Singh doesn't disappoint and truly delivered a story of edgy suspense, all the feels that tugs at the heartstrings and a story you won't ever regret picking up!! This author works her delicious magic in every way and its magnificent!!

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC! don't know what to say. It was what I was expecting after Archangel's Prophecy but also not what I was expecting at all. I have never been so emotional while reading a Guild Hunter book as I was reading this one. It was fantastic and I hope we didn't lose the Legion; I hope they come back as individuals some how. I'm also glad that we didn't lose Illium yet from the Seven either; that would have wrecked me so bad. I love the relationship that Elena and Raphael have with him.

I'm glad we got to see what the secondary characters were doing at this critical time as well. This book felt like a goodbye to Phase 1 of the Guild Hunter books, and I can't wait for Phase 2 to see what's next.

Chaos. It is absolute chaos. The world is overflowing with power, and of course most of it is in the hands of the enemy. Crazy things are happening, and no one knows what it means. Everything leads to a war that is long and arduous.

It was so good! It’s hard to say almost anything about this without giving anything away. It picked up where the last book left off. I was extremely satisfied with the turn of events for Elena and Raphael. I liked all of the scenes with the Legion. A few new characters were introduced, some of which I hope we see more of.

The whole series has been building up to this. The pacing was perfect. Even though the war was long it was never boring. I hope this is not the last book in the series because it felt like it could be. Enough was left open ended that there could easily be more books in the series. It did not end on a cliffhanger, so it doesn’t feel guaranteed that there will be another.

Singh really knocks it out of the park with this entry in the Guild Hunters world. It's nearly impossible to review this without spoilers. If you were angry or upset after Archangel's Prophecy, or you just didn't read it because of the negative reviews, clear your calendar and read them back to back. It's pretty epic!

The story Nalini Singh built up over the course of the Guild Hunters series finally came to a dramatic conclusion in Archangel's War. All my faves are back at it and fighting for survival. I don't want to say too much for fear of giving anything away, but just know that Archangel's War delivered everything I needed and everything I didn't know I needed.

Nalini Singh killed it with Archangel's War. 10/10 would recommend.

4.5 stars out of 5

Oh my god!! This was absolutely fabulous. When I got the ARC for this one I squealed like a little girl, because the cliffhanger at the end of Archangel's Prophecy had me on the edge of my seat.

I really don't want to give anything away about the plot until the book is out, but I can promise that this book was a non-stop ride of action and badassery. Also, the ending changes the game of the Guild Hunter world. Consider this book the ending of one arc and the beginning of another.

My mind is working over time with who Singh's next book will be about. While I have been wrong numerous times in the past, I am getting strong vibes that we will finally be getting Aodhan's book next, but what the hell do I know.

Over all, this book was everything I needed it to be. It was Elena and Raphael showing the world how strong they are because they have each other, and it shook up this universe enough that I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series even though it's over a year away. I will say this a million times, but Nalini Singh is in a realm of her own when it comes to the urban fantasy/paranormal romance genre. Her fans will not be disappointed by this book by a long shot.

Full review to be published online in late September.

ARCHANGEL’S WAR is the 12th book in Nalini Singh’s long running and popular ‘Guild Hunter’ UF series. It was a little slow and wordy at the beginning. In all of her recent books, Singh has had the unfortunate tendency to explore the minutiae of the mundane. The book picked up about the 20% mark, however, and the storyline took off, as basically a continuance from the last book. To not be spoilery, Elena is not quite herself after the cascade at the ending of the previous book. A goodly portion of the book is about ‘finding’ herself, and exploring the new powers she and Raphael picked up after their recent experience in the cascade.

To no ones surprise, Lijuan is continuing her treacherous activities as villain of the series. The word ‘War’ is not in the title for nothing. Also, the political machinations of the current story arc carry on, as do the plot seedings for the next book, which is presumably to be about the mysterious and troubled of Aodhan. All of the Seven play a large role here, as well as many regular and some intriguing new characters.

Overall an excellent addition to the series. The book runs a bit on the long side. A little editing to tighten it up wouldn’t hurt any, especially on the overlong and slightly clunky early chapters. Oh, and we learn a bit more about Illium’s backstory. Can never get enough Bluebell..

There aren't enough words to say how impressed I am with this book and this series as a whole. I fear giving away spoilers so I'll just say that Singh does it again. Her story immerses the reader into epic battles, horrific danger, heartwrenching sadness and joyful triumphs. From page 1 to the very last I was glued to this story and came out the other side feeling like I had gone through the wringer. Totally worth the emotional ups and downs. If you are thinking of picking up this series start with Angel's Kiss and read every single one. You won't be dissapointed. If you've already read the series, you won't be disappointed by this newest addition to the Guild Hunter world.

5 stars (it was amazing)

GOOD HEAVENS! There aren't enough superlatives for me to describe how thrilling, nail-biting and epic is this long-awaited installment of the Guild Hunter series! I read the ARC and am SO happy to report that the war (no spoiler there...title!) is as big, bad and cataclysmic as can be, and our beloved protagonists have made it back in a most satisfying way. Nalini asked us to trust her when we last left Raphael and Elena in such unexpected and fearful circumstances...and Nalini came through for us in a BIG way! All the sexy and snazzy is back, as well as a kick-butt cast of the characters we love (and some we love a bit less) as the countdown to the war begins. SO GLAD that Nalini is continuing to write these fabulous adventures! ARCHANGEL'S WAR is paranormal urban fiction romance at its VERY BEST. Excuse me now, I need to go re-read because it's THAT GOOD! (ARC received from Berkley Publishers in exchange for my honest review, and boy, am I happy to give it!).

Note: I'll post on Twitter next, and I'll tag @BerkleyRomance!

"Archangel's War" by Nalini Singh, releasing September 24, the next installment in the Guild Hunter series. Absolutely no words for this book, y'all. Again, its adult, its romance, its urban fantasy. It was AMAZING. Singh's newsletter talked about how usually she posts the first chapter but she couldn't because there were so many spoilers. Yep. I can't even talk about this book because the entire book is a spoiler alert. Rafael, Elena, archangels, Lijuan, death, war. That's all I can say. If you haven't read this series, it is absolutely worth it (as is her Psy-Changeling series).
