This is a easy to read book about a woman who is attempting to look into her past and break open some of the secrets she believes it to be there. After her mother dies she returns home to deal with her mothers things in the family home. She begins to learn a lot about her family and herself and her mothers life in Ireland. The setting in this book, Ireland, is beautifully described and you will be transported there as you read.

Sadly....this was a boring read...I had such big hopes of reading of great Ireland and a Irish familiy. But i was very much lost in this book, and in the end very very bored.

I wasn’t able to read this one as I have not been able to download a copy. As I was bot able to read the book, I will still give it a five star review because it was not the author’s fault.

Most dual time line novels only span a century- this one is about Dierdre in the present and Deara in the fifth century. The setting is wonderful and the characters engaging. To be honest, I enjoyed Deara's story more than Dierdre's but found both women interesting. A good read

Interesting dual timeline story featuring Deidre from the present and Deara from the 5th century. The two eras worked well together and I found the historical part fascinating. If you like the timeslip books it is definitely worth reading

I picked this book based on the cover and title. Good choice. The plot was intriguing and entertaining. There was a lot of historical facts and descriptions about Ireland in the book that actually were well blended in the story.

This book was a huge disappointment.
It lacked depth and the story was so predictable and similar to many other books

After her mother’s death, Deirdre comes back to her family home in Armagh. There, she must try to move past the painful memories that haunt her life. I really liked Deirdre. She seemed to be an emotionally traumatized woman and tries to find healing in Ireland.
This novel also has another storyline set in 5th century Ulster. I have to admit that I found this storyline to be more fascinating and interesting. I found myself skipping the modern part to read the historical part. I recommend this fans of Lucinda Riley!

Great summer read! I loved the Ireland setting. Such fun!

This is an interesting dual time book set in Ireland. Deidre Weston has come home to mourn her mother, as she runs through the stages of grief she is drawn into the past life of a 5th Century maid Deara. The 5th century portion was more interesting to me but was a great book overall. Great for fans of dual time and historical novels.

Overall, a fair book, but it got tiresome jumping back and forth with present day Deirde and 5th century Deara. I struggled to keep track of the times, as both women struggle with grief and daily life. I wanted to get into it more, but ended up skimming instead. Interesting view of the historical Ireland, and would therefore still recommend.
