A thrilling read and quite creepy at times. The description of Thailand is so authentic that it really feels like you're there. A good psychological thriller that keeps you gripped.

I wasn't sure to start with this book but it eventually grabbed me - told from both past and present which is different. I would recommend and hope to read other books by this author in the future.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this

This story is told from past and present story lines. It is an ok read but I wouldn't really consider it a mystery.

First of all , the synopsis grabbed me hook, line and sinker. This book was captivating. It is told from Hollys point of view and couple of chapters told by the tormentor. It has a timeline which flips between past and present. I couldnt put this book down and kept reading more and more. The book just flowed which kept my interest the whole time. I cant wait to see what other books Sarah writes.

The Trip by Sarah Linley is an exciting read, and my first book by this author. Wow, this book was a wild ride, full of twists and turns. I don't plan on vacationing in another country anytime soon. I ended up staying up late to finish this book, and I highly recommend this book if your looking for a fast paced thriller.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Quick read, no new ground covered really. The kind of book I would normally read on vacation! It moved along at a good pace and kept you guessing where it was leading next, but there was nothing groundbreaking.

Holly is a young lady trying to move forward with her life after a devastating trip to Thailand.

I enjoyed this book but I found the characters of Holly quite irritating at times and a bit whiney. I also noticed a few errors regarding schooling and procedures that should be followed but I guess that was to fit with the story. I thought the storyline was good and kept me gripped, until a twist at the end which I found a bit ridiculous. However, the writing was good and kept me wanting to keep reading. As it is a debut, I imagine this author is going to get even better and become a one to watch.

This book started out a bit slow for me, but gained momentum throughout. By the end, I had found I enjoyed it. It was a good first novel and I will definitely read the author’s future work. Thanks to the publishers and netgalley for the advanced copy.

I struggled to finish this story. I really didn’t like Holly, I thought she whined too much about her life. The murders were too far fetched, no one would really be able to get away with them. I figured out who was stalking her early on.

This as a riveting well crafted thriller that kept me reading into the night.
Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.

Four friends graduated from University together and decided to take a back packing trip through Thailand. A accident occurs and one is killed. The remaining three take a oath never to speak of what actually happened and return to their lives. They all move on with their lives until one begins to receive text messages threatening to expose her and destroy her life.

I liked the suspense the author built up and the charcters. The story and plot were well crafted and it was a fun read.

The Beach is a good debut novel by author Sarah Linley.  The book starts off a bit slow but gradually picked up and held my interest.  Told in dual timelines from the past and the present - the story follows Holly who is now a school teacher who has the past come back to haunt her.  In the past, she and 3 of her college roommates take a trip to Thailand that will forever change their lives.  I did wish that the author hadn't revealed early on in the story who was behind the threats to Holly-  It could have been so much more suspenseful not knowing this information. It did take a while to build up to what happened in Thailand - i think that's the main thing that kept me reading.  I would give this about a 3 star rating.  I think it was a good first novel but there is so much potential that could have made it so much better.

A college graduation trip gone wrong is the basis of Sarah Linley’s new thriller, The Beach. Holly and her three college roommates take a dream vacation, a backpacking trip to Thailand, but only three of them return home. Over the next five years, Holly begins her teaching career and does her best to put the trip behind her, but suddenly she starts receiving threatening messages that someone believes there’s more to the story of George’s death, and they won’t stop until they get all the answers to what really happened.

The Beach is a twisty, entertaining read, leaving you wondering right up until the final page what really happened to George. Sarah Linley gives the reader one piece of the puzzle at a time, notching up the suspense until one dark and stormy night when the answers are revealed. It’s intense, entertaining, and the perfect summer beach read!
