Family, love and food is a great combination in a story. A lovely summer read.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

A fluffy light read about three sisters - Louisa, Sabrina and Amanda- who live pretty much charmed lives. I missed the first book but hopped right in. Each chapter starts with a recipe because food is such a large part of their lives, as are their loves. Sabrina manages a rock band and she and Amanda, who lives in Manchester, are both dating members of the group. Louisa is in Italy, where she's working in fashion. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is a good beach read- what drama and stress there is is resolved quickly and happily.

Book : The Ingredients for Happiness .

Author: Lucy Knott .

Genre: Fiction ,Romance, Contemporary .

Rate: 3.5/5.

Review in one word : Charming .

******************

This is my first book by Lucy Knott , but definitely won't be the last .

A story about dreams and working toward your goals , about food and great recipes with a touch of warm feelings and family relations . This is the perfect summer read about three sisters ( Amanda, Sabrina and Louisa )  and their journeys .

What I really loved about this book , the recipes we got with each chapter , It reminded me a lot of a book I've read recently And loved a lot ( Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune ) by Roselle Lim , It also made me so hungry , I kept getting different snacks while reading :P .

For me , the book is totally Character- driven , although the plot was good , but the characters were the best thing about this story . I loved following each sister while they try to achieve their dreams , as Amanda is trying to open an italian cafe in Manchester ,  Sabrina is Managing a very popular band and Louise is trying to be a fashion designer in italy .

As for Lucy Knott writing style , it was very entertaining and full of great descriptions . I haven't read her first book  but the story was still enjoyable .

If you are searching for a heart-warming book to read while you are vacationing on the beach , you should totally pick up this amazing novel .

About Books: The Ingredients for Happiness
I love cooking, I love reading, I love romance, and I loved How to Bake a New Beginning. Put all those things together in the delicious sequel that is The Ingredients for Happiness? And you've got yourself one happy me!
I was offered an ARC by Netgalley in exchange for a review. All opinions are strictly my own.

The story

Three sisters, a stash of family recipes, the chance to make their dreams come true…
Amanda is about to open her very own café. She has the pastry sorted, but hasn’t a clue about the plumbing. With the love of her life by her side, surely nothing else can go wrong?

Sabrina has struck out on her own and is proving to the global music industry she has what it takes. However, balancing the business side of the band with her personal life will end up being more than she bargained for.

Louisa is drawing inspiration from the beautiful Amalfi coast, channelling it into creating gorgeous gowns for modern day Sophia Lorens. But putting herself out there in the fashion industry will present its own challenges, even with the ever-supportive Luca by her side.

With the right mix of perseverance, love and plenty of Italian delicacies, these three sisters are about to discover that when they support each other, the sky really is the limit!

The opinion
I feel like, with this book, Lucy Knott has really hit her strides. All the elements that I loved from the first book were still there, and the narration was even more fluid, consistent and enjoyable.

First things first: the elements I already loved in the first book. The bond between these three sisters is what really got me when I discovered the prequel to The Ingredients for Happiness. The way these women bickered but were always there for each other really rung true - and reminded me a lot of my own sisters. We even have a similar love for food going on - albeit without the Italian ancestry to kick it up a notch.

More than that, though, I appreciated that the author avoided the pit fall of creating random problems in order to make the relationships suffer. Instead, she offered what I thought to be a very realistic overview of the difficulties of building a relationship. Even if, you know the whole "my boyfriend is a rockstar" isn't necessarily something most of us can identify with.

Throughout all of this, the love for food, music and fashion that just jumped from the pages? Well, that was just the icing on the cake that made me need to keep reading. Yep, this was another "flew through it in a matter of hours" for me!

The rating: 4/5
If, like me, you like food, romance and a good chunk of sisterly love thrown in there? Then this is definitely the book for you. You don't even really need to read the first book before you delve into Ingredients for Happiness, although it might make you like this one even more.

The Ingredients of Happiness is a follow-up story from How to Bake a New Beginning, in which the three sisters are now currently all loved up with their insanely gorgeous boyfriends, whilst also making their dreams come true. Amanda is in the process of opening up her own cafe - in honour of their late Grandpa, Sabrina is working hard at signing her band San Francisco Beat with a new record label and Louisa is living a stunning lifestyle in the serenity of Italy, working in fashion.

Lucy has smashed it once again with a delightful, charming and delicious sequel to her debut book. It's impossible to not fall in love with every single character written on these pages and the romance's you become entangled in will have you swooning from start to finish. This is the perfect light, feel-good Summer read, providing you also with scrumptious recipes to have a go at - I will definitely make it my mission to attempt at least one! While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading the first of the series, How to Bake a New Beginning, as you can get a more in depth look in to the sisters and how they got to where they are now.

Amanda, Sabrina and Louisa had spent their childhoods between the Amalfi Coast and Manchester, building a series of traditions and memories in their large Italian family. While each has their own specialty, both Sabrina and Amanda are involved with two of the hottest rockstars on the planet, while baby sister Louisa is staying in Italy after their grandfather’s death and working in fashion. But not everything is as simple as that – the sisters are close and rely on one another, but the stresses of life and chasing their dreams may mean that close is reworked into frequent skype chats and phone conversations.

Amanda has always been the “foodie” and after a disastrous experience, she’s finally finding her feet again and dreaming of her own Italian Café in Manchester. Aided by her boyfriend Dan, she’s going forward despite the hiccups with renovating the building, moments that shake her confidence, missing her grandfather and, most importantly, the paparazzi that hound her and erode her belief in the relationship and man she has come to know. Meanwhile, Sabrina is working as the band’s manager, and finding them a new label that will allow them control over their unique style of lyrics and musical talents is primary. Not wanting them to become “poster boys” for the rock-n-roll life, a thing none of them want, she’s torn between being seen as a manager and simply “a girlfriend” of the drummer. And Louisa, working and learning in a small boutique in Italy while she lives with her grandmother and aunts, she’s gaining confidence and skills, and has been entered into a “young designers” competition by her boss. Frantically designing and perfecting options with the hopes to be featured in a leading fashion magazine, she’s dividing her time between work and her boyfriend Luca, feeling as if her sisters are so far removed and perhaps a little left out.

At first glance, the sisters and the family are a bit overwhelming, much like being dropped into the middle of the family chaos: but soon Knott’s distinct development of each of the sister’s personalities and characters, inclusion of secondary characters and scenes that feel plausible and natural, and the solid sense of the attachment and affection between them all comes clear and the threads all start to sort themselves out as you follow along their journeys alone and together – cheering them all along the way. Insertions from Amanda’s ‘recipe book” which are often laugh out loud funny for their lack of measurements and ‘go by feel’ notes, the story and the food and clothing created come to life and become as real and palpable as the characters. A lovely introduction to Knott’s work, it’s clear that another book is in the works following these characters, and I’ve grabbed the first to see where everything began!

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Fantastic feel good book packed with Italian charm, mouthwatering dishes and endearing characters.
This book continues on the story of three sisters from Lucy Knott's first book and I think whilst it can be read as a standalone novel you completely get more understanding of the characters and backdrop if you have read the first so I personally recommend it be read in sequence.
There are wonderful recipes to try as in the previous book which is such a brilliant feature, and you feel you carry a little piece of Italy with you when you have this story because it's packed with authenticity and Mediterranean charm.
If you are looking for a dramatic Rockstar celebs style exposé this isn't that, it's a feel-good, uplifting, gentle book that comes from the heart and focuse on the characters. I loved it

I am so sorry but I just couldn't finish this book.
When I requested it I hadn't seen that it was the second part of a series.
Mostly this isn't a problem. I have read numerous parts of a series where they could be read as a stand alone.
Sadly this book is really " a series".

Amanda, Sabrina and Louisa are sisters all trying to make their late grandfather proud in their own individual ventures. Sabrina manages a rock band, Amanda has opened her own coffee shop and Louisa is a fashion designer. 2 of the sisters are currently dating members of said rock band.

This is a good summer type read where you don’t have to think so much while reading however I do admit that at times throughout the book, I was waiting for more of a storyline or a conflict.

I haven’t read the first book in this series but I still enjoyed the story. I would recommend reading book one first though as I think it would explain the dynamics of a few of the relationships a little more.

A fun chick lit book, perfect for a summer read! This is my first book of Lucy Knott's to read, and I am excited to read her other books. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read!

This book is the second of the series. That's definitely something to keep in mind, as I felt I'd definitely missed out on a lot from not having read the first book. Perhaps I'll have to go back and start at the start.

It's a lovely, light and fast read. I loved the recipes dotted between the chapters, I'll be trying out some of them for sure.

The Ingredients For Happiness by Lucy Knott is a delightful contemporary novel that will leave you smiling and feeling good about life.
The book is based around three sisters who are following their dreams. Dreams are planted in hearts and encouraged to grow by those around them as they are sprinkled with love. Dreams take on an extra significance when they were birthed by those no longer here.
The novel deals with the loss of a grandfather. He was clearly a man much loved by his family. His presence of love covers the whole book.
Cooking, dress designing and managing a boy band are the order of the day. Due to delicious descriptions the reader can almost taste the goodies, feel the fabric and hear the band. The Ingredients For Happiness is a book that really assaults the senses.
The most important thing is not fame and fortune but family and friends. No matter how successful your public life is, you need to remember your roots and your family who love and encourage you.
There is a cosmopolitan feel to the novel as it is set in Los Angeles, Manchester and Italy. Bonding occurs over food. The warmth and sunshine of Italy reaches out, enveloping the reader.
The Ingredients For Happiness is such a wonderful read that will brighten up the greyest of days as the love and warmth radiate from the pages. I cannot wait to read more by Lucy Knott.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

What a light hearted perfect read! I read this in one sitting! (Yes, I have a life! I just couldn't put it down!) The recipes are a great touch, and the relationship between the sisters is very relateable.

A superb following up instalment to visit the lovely Italian sisters Amanda, Sabrina and Louisa as they all embark on following their dreams.

I loved the first book and quickly became keen to keep reading and find out how they had been getting on since we had last spent time with them.

A story about the strong bonds and ties of family, following your dreams and believing in yourself. I laughed out loud and felt the emotions at key parts of this brilliant book. I am so excited to read book 3 and can't wait for it to be released!
