While I do like her written I'm just not enjoying it like I use to .With that said I don't think she's the author for me any more, so as as right now I'm sad to say that I'm DNF her books

I would like to thank Leslie North for writing another 5 star in the Karawi Sheikhs series.

Amy Mathewson leaves Miami, Florida for a new life to get away from her old life. She's a journalist and stumbles on this orphanage on the outskirts of Haamas to write a few stories about them. A little girl called Aisha takes to her and Amy looks after her when she falls ill.
Sheikh Bahir Karawi finds letters from his lost love (that his uncle had hidden from him) claiming her child is his daughter. She died and her aunt gave her daughter to the orphanage as the family had disowned the woman and her daughter. He goes looking for her and finds her in the orphanage, but Amy is a fierce woman who won't let Aisha go with anyone as the rebels want Aisha.
Sheikh Bahir takes Amy and Aisha into hiding as the rebels start getting closer, what happens between Bahir and Amy will take you on a ride through a fairytale with maybe a happy ending.

I love reading Leslie North books as they make it easy to forget the world around you and take you on an adventure into your deepest and darkest fantasies.

Amy’s life was spent protecting orphans and would stand against anyone who would try to take one of them away. Finding Aisha’s father was a Sheik was a surprise but staying one step in front of the rebels is all that matters. Great continuation of the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It seems my fear of stupid unprotected sex in every ARC by Leslie North I have left was a bit premature. In this case, the unexpected child comes from another route, so I’m happy I don’t have to deal with the same plot over and over again. Let’s see what the second Karawi brother has to tell in his defense!

This time we travel to that small and fictional kingdom to meet Bahir, the middle brother of Iman. By pure chance, he discovers several hidden letters that tell him he has a secret daughter who has been taking into an orphanage. Looking for her, she meets Amy, an American journalist who is helping in one of the orphanages to write a story. There she became attached to Aisha, the secret daughter of Bahir. That’s why they are a package deal when the Sheikh stormed the building to take the child. Brusque? Maybe. But the rebels also want Aisha as leverage…

The main strength of these books is their length. Less than 200 pages to tell a simple story where the main characters fall in love and have their happily ever after. This time the story comes with an unexpected amount of action scenes, where the characters have to face rebels in several situations. It is unexpected, because it didn’t look like the main focus was there according to the plot of the backcover. Yes, the secret daughter is important, but not as a way to develop Bahir character. She is the flag that the good and the bad guys have to capture to win the game. So, if you are expecting some quality time between father and daughter, you should look elsewhere.

This book also has the same problem as the first one: the romance is underdeveloped. In this case, the issue is even more evident due to the few pages Amy and Bahir have to focus on their relationship. They don’t have time to properly get to know each other due to the sickness of Aisha or the rebel attacks. And somehow they fall utterly in love… They barely exchange a couple of sentences and, the next thing we know, Bahir is already planning a wedding. Sure, sure. Everybody knows that those kind of marriages scream steady to the world… So, yeah… the length is nice to tell about the rebels and the daughter plots, but it is not enough to put together a coherent love story.

Regarding the characters, I have to say that Amy is OK, but without any kind of spark. She is protective of Asha and I guess that is nice, but having a favourite kid in an orphanage is kind of unwise and even unethical. The one I do not like at all is Bahir. At first he seemed nice with the playful banter with his brother, but then… he becomes too bossy, too drunk of power. Breaking and entering in an orphange as if it were a rebel compound was way too much. And the problem is he is totally unapologetic about that… as if he had all the rights in the world to do so due to his title. This Alpha barks too much for my taste.

Let’s see where the story of the third brother takes us, but before that… some cowboys!!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the second in a series, but reads well as a stand alone. I have not read the others. This is a quick love, royal story. Bahir finds out he has a secret daughter (he didn't know) that his uncle had hidden from him. Amy is working as a volunteer at the orphanage. Interesting dynamics I rate it a 3.5

This book was okay. No deep story line but then again we usually don’t pick up these books for that. Got sex and instant love are all covered here and sometimes that’s all you need.

His uncle concealed that the prince had a child. When he finds out, he goes hunting for his daughter who has a birthmark and blue eyes. They eventually find her with her American guardian.

Lots of twists and turns. Very suspenseful. I received a review copy and have given my unbiased opinion. I enjoyed the story and will read the other books in the series.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Cute quick romance as Bahir finds that he has a daughter and along the way meets Amy who cares for his daughter, Aisha, in an orphanage.

A little bit of intrigue is thrown in as there is the backstory of the rebels and even have a couple of traitors in the palace so that is a surprise to the royal family.

Romance went kind of quick and not a lot of depth but sometimes you just need a feel good story!

It was unfortunate that I ended up reading this story after book three, as it spoilt some of the storyline. That said, it had charismatic main characters, with a fierce and protective heroine and man willing to do anything to find his daughter. As with many of Ms North’s books, there is an element of danger, plenty of family angst and interference, and some super steamy sex! A good read that was easily finished in one sitting.

Another spectacular adventure in the desert! Leslie North has woven together a book full of angst, suspense, intrigue, mystery and love. Wonderful characters and very moving story. Like Scheherazade in 1001 Nights, you will be swept away!
I have loved every one of this author’s books and can hardly wait to read her next one!
I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my volunteer review.

Amy shouted for Aisha to come back. Climbing on a nearby bench Amt tried to see where the little girl might be. The seven year old Aisha had bonded with Amy the first few months that Amy had arrived in the orphanage. Aisha had shouted”No” at the news and pulled away from Amy and ran off. Than Amy spotted her and took off after her. Aisha than bumped into a dignitary and fell down. The man helped her back up and he took her to see the sharks. Amy tried to get to Aisha but ta guard grabbed her by the arm and wouldn’t let go. Than he told her to stay put. The man with Aisha was Sheikh Bahir Karawi. Than the woman with the Sheikh dug her nails into Aisha’s shoulder and Amt struggled to be free. The sheikh motioned for the guard to let Amy go and she grabbed up Aisha and left the area. Amy saw the nail marks on Aisha’s shoulder as she looked for their group from the orphanage. When she looked back the Sheikh was watching her, why was he looking at her like that when he had that blonde on his arm? Haamas had become Amy’s sanctuary . Amy was there to study the children . newly graduated with her masters degree in journalism. Amy found herself suddenly alone and broken hearted in Florida. Needing an escape she took her studies abroad. The orphanage had been glad for her help, she found herself participating more than studying. As a researcher it was horrible, but as a woman it has been a great comfort. Her ex boyfriend James had dumped her when he became a PHD candidate. He said he needed a wife not her. Also Amy couldn’t have children. She had been with James for three years. They’d supported each other through graduate school. How many times had they talked about marriage and what their life would be like? All lies. Aisha held her hand out to Amy. She was as tough as she was sweet. Aisha had been abandoned at the orphanage when she was three years old, she had been there for four years now. Aisha had nothing more than a name pinned to her shirt and a stuffed octopus. Ten children lived at the orphanage- seven boys and three girls, ranging from age four to twelve years old. Amy had been there three months. Haamas was a progressive kingdom that promoted teaching everyone as equally as possible. Since being there Amy had learned Sheikh Iman was actually doing more to improve the quality of life for everyone. Bahir than found out through some hidden letters he had a seven year old daughter in an orphanage and it turned out to be Aisha. Bahir finally found her at the orphanage with Amy but she was sick. He ordered Amy tpo come with him to care for Aisha. In truth Bahir wanted Amy and it was getting harder to keep his hands off her.
I loved this book. Although I read The Sheikh’s Pregnant Love first as that was how I received the books. It didn’t matter, I loved them both. This was a fantastic romantic read. I also loved the danger and intrigue. I loved the plot and pace. I didn’t want to put this book down so finished in one setting. I loved how Bahir's family all accepted Amy. Ms. north once again you wrote an excellent book about Sheikhs and the Middle East. I am so lucky to have read several of your books and hope to read several more. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

This book was expertly crafted. Another triumph for Leslie North with brilliance and sparkling wit. You will not want to put it down!

I usually don’t read these kind of books because I am unsure of the content. I like different things in my books besides just hot sex. So with that said I was impressed with this author. She managed to capture my interest by combining some of that with some suspense and some excitement to. Shirk Bahir has a daughter. Where is she? Amy is running from a broken heart. Read how these 2 meet and how they find not just 1 person to love them but 2?

Amy left Florida to heal her broken heart. She found a place in Middle East where she is helping at orphanage and write her article. One of the kids is very close to her and one day when Sheikh shows up to take girl, she goes with them. Bahir is a Sheikh, he finds out he is the father to a 7 year old, who is in orphanage. He looks thru all orphanages in his country to find her. When he finds her, he is taking her to palace. He has to take Amy, who is very close to his daughter too, only so transition for his daughter to palace would be easier. But he can't keep his hands and mind away from Amy, will she stay if he ask her?

I love these quick read books by Leslie North. Bahir makes me sigh. He doesn't flinch when he finds out he's got a daughter that he didn't know about. Amy proves repeatedly that she loves Bahir and his daughter,
