I can honestly say this is a book like nothing I've ever read before.

Thank you for the wonderful ARC I received from Wishing Star Press via Netgalley!

Leah is totally irrational and sometimes (well most of the time) really out of her mind but my God is she funny.

I don't often read books and laugh out loud but this book really made me laugh out loud a lot. Despite her being crazy I feel like me and Leah totally shared a sense of humor and I admired her and her cougarness.

The book really surprised me at points. While it seemed just quirky and funny on the surface, I felt it began to dive deep towards the end. At one point Leah has an internal discussion about her role in the feminist movement and has some self evaluation about her place. I really enjoyed the end overall and I was happy to see her ground herself a bit. It was well written and I really loved all the characters. Part of me just wished it was longer.

This is more of a 3.5 for me than a 4. But I didn't think it was fair to give it 3 stars. I kinda want everyone to read this. It's so unique and it's not very often I'm itching to read a book any small chance I can just so I can laugh and see what happens. I find often a good laugh and a plot don't coincide, but Rollins did it here.

(Also, Flynn owns my heart.)

I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, I'm a little bit on edge by this book. The main character, Leah is a fifty-nine-year-old woman who acts like a narcissistic, immature teenager with no impulse control. Not only that, but she drags her unsuspecting young neighbor into her plots and they both wind up in a world of trouble. For the first 30% of the book (according to my Kindle), I didn't like it at all and was forcing myself to read it to provide this review. Then it got really good, and I enjoyed it for a while until she went kind of crazy. During and after the incident at the mall I was pretty much done with this character and had trouble finding redeeming qualities in her-I just wanted the book to end at that point.

🙃 Zany behavior from a suburbanite fighting middle age blues🙄
3.5 🌟stars
I had mixed feelings about this story. I liked the zany, was hooked on the age gap romance, and felt Leah's frustration at ageism on the job. I also liked the originality of the main character Leah. Her rants and crazy behavior made for a wild and unpredictable ride with a sarcastic edge. Her relationship with young neighbor Flynn was, for me, the best part of the book..

But the story was disjointed at times, the sessions with Leah's shrink seemed a waste of pages and I was disappointed with the abruptness of the conclusion; I felt cheated out of a full closure.

I might read this author's work again but I'd be hoping for more and, romantic that I am, a more romantic and definitive conclusion.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book provided through NetGalley; this is my voluntary and honest review.

I found the main character to be so unlikeable from the beginning that I never did warm up to her. I could not care less about what happened to her. This was supposed to be humorous but I found it crass instead. I am surprised to find that the author is a middle aged woman. I don't know any woman that make it that far that still use the phrase "on the rag". The main character was high strung and whiny. and as far as humor, crudeness doesn't equate humor, even in this day of adult cartoons.

Didn't finish the book. I really liked the premise, but it didn't hold my attention for long enough for me to finish the book.

This book was so great! So many laugh out loud moments, so fun just had it all. I devoured it in one sitting.
Thanks Netgalley and publisher for the Arc. 4.5 stars

One hell of a crazy, intense, laugh out loud, sex fuelled, anti-gun, anti-thong, anti-... can’t help herself being attracted to twenty-something-year-old-men, gun purchasing, rant playing out, criminally active, emotionally immature, emotionally affected by family, maybe unstable, worrying about drying up, peri-menopausal woman’s story all wrapped up into one book.... She see’s a shrink too. Oh, and she has two dogs.

A quick paced, easy enough read with lots of action and going’s on to keep you going.

The discussion group questions at the back had some laugh out loud bits in them too.

Just couldn't get into this book. I like the writing style though, and was looking for something a bit different and this appealed to me but sadly I just couldn't get into it. (I think this is just down to personal preference though!)

I loved the main character Leah. She was really quirky and extremely likeable. What makes this character so easy to like is the fact that she's so relatable. Hilarious, bittersweet and at times outrageous, this book is very well-written. The characters are well-developed and just as relatable. I definitely recommend this novel to anyone looking for a fun comedy that also makes you think! I had a hard time putting this book down!

Even though the start of the novel was a bit rocky, I enjoyed the book altogether. The main character was likeable, and you could trace a considerable hint of 'emotional immaturity' in her.
Some of the actions in the novel were so unusual for a woman of her age, but that just made the novel more interesting.
By the end, I had a lump in my throat. It appeared too real. After reading 'About the author', it does seem the author wrote about her own life.
Overall, it was an easy, entertaining read and I would surely recommend it.

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free copy.

I enjoyed the book a lot and I would surely want to read more works by the author☺ Also, I have written a detailed review in my blog.

This is the first book I've read from Leslie and it was a cute and fun read. It was a little slow in the beginning but picks up shortly after. I liked the story and the characters. I kinda wish the writing was written differently. Sometimes it was hard to understand what was going on but still a cute book.

This book was a fun read and definitely had a few great laughs along the way! This book is about Leah’s life and her sexy handsome but very younger neighbor! Lol Leah hates thong underwear almost as much as she hates being middle-aged trying to stay relevant in her job! But when she unexpectedly purchases a gun it’s enough to make her consider an act of terrorism at a certain lingerie store LOL her shrink and her mother want her to get married, The neighborhood drug dealer wants to get her in bed, and the girl across the street wants revenge for stealing her boyfriend! But Leah and her gun have a different path to follow! Like I said, This book was definitely a cute, funny read it dug into quite a few heavy topics at times and was an all around ok book just not my preferred type of book! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Absolutely could not get into this book. The style it was written in made it impossible to get a true story out of. Also if you want to make fun of people I suggest not doing so of the gun crowd. I mean, unless you think the cops protect you with glitter and sparkles.
