Readers following this series will definitely love Julia Slate!!! One kick ass lady and security agent of Wilde Security, protecting her crush of rock star was not on her agenda.

The chemistry and intensity between Julia and Bran Copper is off the charts, and add an element of mystery and suspense, Cynthia Eden gives her readers another rocking and Wilde story.

Love this series!!!!

The Heart You Break is a fantastic addition to the Wilde Security series. It was the perfect blend of romance and suspense, without one element eclipsing or diminishing the other. It was so easy to fall in love with the characters, and OK, I'll admit I'm often a bit dense about these things, but I at least was left guessing who the 'bad guy' was until it was revealed (or maybe just before, to give myself a little credit!).

Cynthia Eden is one of my 'go-to' authors for romantic suspense both paranormal and what would you call it, 'normal' suspense?, ‘contemporary’ suspense?, 'real-life' suspense? Whatever, those stories that happen in the world as we know it without the existence of vampires, werewolves etc.

ANYWAY, Cynthia Eden knows how to weave a good romantic suspense regardless of the specifics of the world where the story takes place. Her characters are always well developed, her world-building is on point, and the story progresses logically and at a pace that allows the reader to feel the pressure, action, and suspense of the events without giving the impression of rushing through the story.
Although The Heart You Break is a standalone, and could quite easily be enjoyed as such. I'd recommend reading at least the first book in the series 'Protecting Piper,' which gives a beautiful introduction to the world and the characters – and it's such a beautiful story it would be a shame to skip it.

Cynthia Eden has impressed me again with this story, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

Another awesome read by a wonderful author! The next read in the Wilde series has our female bodyguard, Julia Slate, a fierce heroine, having to guard Bran Cooper. Bran Cooper is a rock star and has been getting threats and Julia is the only person for the job. Filled with suspense, hot sex, action and our terrific cast from past books makes me just salivate for more. We get more of Rick, I really love that dude! Cole is now part of the team and just like Rick, who's book is next in this series, I pray that Cole gets his true love as well. 4.5 stars for this beautiful couple****

THE HEART YOU BREAK is an action packed story filled with passion and suspense. Julia Slate works as a bodyguard for Wilde security. Her newest client is Bran Cooper, a sexy rockstar and notorious bad boy. The difficult part of Julia’s newest assignment, is protecting Bran while pretending to be his personal assistant. Bran’s manager hires Wilde security because Bran has a dangerous stalker after him, but stubbornly, Bran refuses bodyguards because he thinks he can take of the situation on his own.

Fireworks explode the minute Bran and Julia meet. Julia’s looks are deceiving; she is beautiful and small in stature but she loves danger and can take down a man twice her size. Bran has never met anyone like Julia and he can’t help the attraction he feels for her. Unfortunately, they both have trust issues and secrets and regrets from their past. I enjoyed Cynthia Eden’s newest action packed story.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. I love Cynthia Eden and her Wilde Securities books. This one was a little different because the past ones were with the Wilde brothers and this one wasn't. I really enjoyed Bran showing a soft side and his love for Julia. Did the book get to be a little far fetched with the relentless attacks against Bran, maybe but I was so enthralled about seeing this couple evolve I didn't care. Great read!

Julia is an engima she appears sweet and innocent but really she is a tough, strong, independent woman with many secrets. Secrets that she keeps to herself allowing only those closest to her in. She remains that she doesn't get too involved with people during her cases but for some reason protecting Bran Copper everything is different.

Julia is hired to protect Bran by his manager because he has a stalker. The manager doesn't think Bran is taking the threat seriously even after his motorcycle accident. Julia is posing as his assistant so that he will let her into his cabin.

The stalker after Bran continues to escalate forcing everyone to reveal their secrets. I thought I knew who the stalker was but realized I was completely wrong and I was not expecting the person responsible when he was revealed. This book was unputdownable and throughly enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the next person to find their HEA, but I have a feeling its going to be Cole ... I hope I'm right.

So good. So hot. Just perfect. Lots of action, a mystery stalker, and bomber, that needs to be found, an undercover agent, and a bad boy rocker who isn’t what he appears to be in the spotlight. Julia lived through hell in her old life as a firefighter, but now in her new life as a security agent with Wilde Security, she has found a true home, and if not true happiness, then at least true contentment. When she is tasked with guarding Bran without telling him she is his bodyguard, she takes it on fully expecting to hate the guy. What she finds is someone who hides his own pain and lives behind a mask he shows to the world. Things are very fast paced in this one, maybe a few days before all hell breaks loose and the stalker turns into an arsonist and a bomber, all focused on killing Bran. When the truth comes out they struggle to move past the lies, but the stalker doesn’t leave them a lot of room to breathe before calling in another bomb threat and demanding a meeting with Julia, alone. I loved the story. It was full of everything I look for in a good romance (tension, passion, emotional appeal, and action). Great story, from start to finish.

I truly loved this story. I've been a Cynthia Eden fan for a long time. Her stories are always good, but this one was great. Sometimes stories with the heroine gathering the hero can be awkward and leave me with the feeling that the hero is less than heroic. That was nowhere near the case here. Ms. Eden managed to write a kick a** heroine in Julia. She was strong and fierce and 100 percent committed to protecting Bran. Bran has no idea Julia is more than just a woman sent to be his assistant. She appears small and fragile, and Bran will do anything to protect her. The two are destined to collide at some point when their desires are at cross purposes. Until that point, the stress is high and the stakes are too. The chemistry was off the charts, and Bran was one of the best alpha male heroes I've read recently. This story was fantastic!

He has an obsessed fan that is escalating, but Rocker, Bran Copper refuses protection and just wants to be left alone. Julia Slate is undercover, she’s pretending to be his new assistant and while she may act shy and reserved, she can totally kick butt any day of the week. It’s supposed to be business only and he’s everything she doesn’t want. He’s been betrayed over and over again and now Julia is lying to him, too.

This rockin’ romantic suspense keeps readers dancing with all the remarkable chemistry and volcanic sparks flying everywhere right alongside the thrills and excitement of the danger facing Bran and Julia. These two characters are strong, bold and just steal the hearts of readers right out from under them as their relationship progresses despite how much neither of them wants it, which keeps heated, feisty and very entertaining, but the story also has lots of emotions flowing from the pages as well which ensures that readers really understand what motivates Bran and Julia, making them more real and full of depth.

The plot is fast paced and packed full of non-stop excitement, not only from the relationship but also from the danger stalking Bran. The thrilling suspense and expectation of this story continuously builds to epic proportions, keeping readers glued to the pages with stunning twists that throws everything the characters thought they knew right out the door. This plot is on the complicated side and shows just how the past can come back to bite people in the behind in this entrancing and stunning romance.

THE HEART YOU BREAK is the fourth book in Cynthia Eden’s Wilde Ways series. Each book in this series, centered around bodyguards and the clients they fall for, works as a standalone story. In THE HEART YOU BREAK , Cynthia Eden plays with the rock star trope. Bran Copper is a rock star with a stalker and Julia Slate becomes his undercover bodyguard. I love a kickass heroine, and Julia absolutely qualifies. It’s adorable and amusing when Bran tries to shield Julia from any danger and general unpleasantness. Bran’s protective streak is endearing but makes Julia’s real job as his undercover protector that much more challenging.

Julia may look delicate, but she is a battle-hardened former firefighter who has survived a lot. Her current assignment for Wilde Securities - protecting a bad boy rock star from a mysterious psycho - doesn’t have Julia particularly excited. Having been burned, in more ways than one, by her last serious relationship makes her cynical about men and what they have to offer her. Bran turns out to blow her expectations apart. Both are struck by a sudden and consuming physical attraction, but both try and fight it for different reasons. Although Bran is a celebrity, he has a certain level of self-awareness and empathy that throws Julia for a loop. He resists having any kind of protection for himself because he doesn’t want anybody else to be harmed. Bran and Julia grow closer, even as they both keep secrets from each other. The Blue Ridge Mountains make for a suitably romantic, as well as isolated and eerie, backdrop for this story. In addition to the perspective of the hero and heroine, Cynthia Eden includes the perspective of the unknown and seemingly omnipresent killer. The killer could be a man or woman, and a known enemy of Bran’s as well as somebody who appears to be a friend. Cynthia Eden brings it all in THE HEART YOU BREAK: thrills galore, steamy love scenes, and an intriguing mystery surrounding the identity of a killer.

THE HEART YOU BREAK is a splendid example of romance done right with evil lurking where you’d least expect it. I love all the books in this series, but this may be my favorite yet. It seems that Julia’s friend Rick will be the subject of the next book in this Wilde Ways series. I look forward to reading Rick’s story, but I can’t wait for Cole’s story (if Cynthia Eden gives him one too).

The Heart You Break by Cynthia Eden is book 4 in the Wilde Ways Series. This is the story of Julia Slate and Bran Copper. I have read the previous books (and Loved Them), but feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Julia goes undercover to be a body guard for Bran. Julia was hired by his manger because Bran refuses to have one but he has a stalker that has escalated their game. Julia is pretending to work as his assistance laying low but neither counted on the sparks that start to fly.

4.25 stars--THE HEART YOU BREAK is the fourth instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult WILDE WAYS romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Wilde Securities. This is former fire fighter and security agent Julia Slate, and rock star Bran Copper. THE HEART YOU BREAK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Bran and Julia THE HEART YOU BREAK follows Julia Slate as she is assigned protection duty to rock star Bran Copper, a musician whose stalker is getting too close. Bran doesn’t want protection, in fact he is using himself as bait to pull in the person trying to destroy his life but baiting the bad guy affects more than our story line hero. Julia Slate goes undercover as Bran’s assistant, a position that places our heroine up close and personal with rock’s newest bad boy. What ensues is the building relationship between Bran and Julia, and the potential fall-out as everyone working the case at Wilde Securities becomes collateral damage as the stalker is determined to take down our story line hero.

The relationship between Julia and Bran is one of immediate attraction but Bran doesn’t want an assistant; doesn’t want security; and definitely doesn’t want another female groupie destroying his life. Julia Slate struggles to keep her under cover assignment on the down low but falling for Bran Copper finds Julia out of her element, and distracted when she is needed the most. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Julia’s fellow security specialists: Cole Vincent, Rick Williams, Eric Wilde, and town sheriff Gideon Warren.

THE HEART YOU BREAK is a story of betrayal, deception and vengeance; of struggle and acceptance; of love and a happily ever after. The premise is energetic and engaging; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are colorful, dynamic and strong. I guessed the identity of the stalker early on but the author threw in a secondary possibility in an effort to deflect attention from the requisite evil.

The Heart You Break is sad in spots but happy in others. Ms. Eden has done another excellent job of writing a romance that tugs at your heart. Loved it

I hesitated a bit, as I'm not usually fond of rock star romances, but gave it a try because of the author and series. Another one in the Wilde Agency book, and got to admit I really found this one hard to put down. Bran is a rock star, who is being stalked. The dangers keep getting stronger, so his manager hires Julia to be his bodyguard. She is petite and unassuming, so tries to come across as a personal assistant hired by his manager. Naturally sparks fly, and naturally they have passionate sex. The stalker was a surprise, and it took halfway through before I suspected who it was. The reasons why seemed a little lacking in detail though, and cost a star. Otherwise, I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next in the series. Great author.

I wasn’t planning on reading this book today, but when I read the beginning couple of pages, I just…kept reading. I couldn’t help myself! This series is really doing it for me!

I’m not one for rockstar romances, but Cynthia Eden made me love hers. Bran Copper is your stereotypical moody, party boy, womanizing rocker. Isn’t he? When Julia is asked to go undercover as his PR assistant, she tells her boss no. But her boss Eric Wilde of Wilde Security knows she’ll be the best for this job, so he won’t let her turn him down.

Bran is hiding in his mountain cabin to write his next album. But he has a stalker who isn’t going to let him get away. The threatening letters have escalated to breaking and entering. Bran won’t let his manager hire a bodyguard, so when Julia shows up on his doorstep claiming she’s his new assistant, he’s not exactly thrilled.

Julia is good at her job. She looks tiny and delicate, but she can knock a man on his back in no time. Being Bran’s bodyguard isn’t easy, though, since he can’t know that’s what she is. She doesn’t like lying to him, and the closer they get, the more she hates the lies between them. But she doesn’t have a choice. And if he found out she’d lied? He’d kick her out. She’ll have to keep lying to keep him safe.

In typical Cynthia Eden fashion, this book is suspenseful and sexy. Her plots are well thought out, and she never takes the predictable route. With excitement and danger waiting on each page, I couldn’t flip pages fast enough!

4.5 - "Appearances can be deceiving…" Stars!

Another cracking addition to Cynthia Eden’s Wilde Ways series, with The Heart You Break finally giving us a HEA for bodyguard; Julia Slate. As you would expect with a RS title from this author the path to true love doesn’t run smooth for Julia, especially when the man you fall for is the one you are supposed to be protecting, who also doesn’t actually know the truth of who you really are.

He was nothing like she expected… But he might be what she needed.

Rock Star; Bran Copper has taken refuge in his remote cabin in the town of Hideaway a stalker has been targeting him for a while now and keeps getting closer and closer with dangerous consequences. In an effort to draw them out he makes himself readily available by being in an easily accessible location with few people around. A plan his manager is definitely not on-board with, so-much-so he goes to Wilde Securities and arranges for a team to covertly have him protected, including Julia in the role of PA.

"Do you have secrets..?"

"…Everyone has secrets."

I really enjoyed this one, you know its going to be a bumpy ride with one of Cynthia’s titles, and the twists and turns were plentiful. The ‘insta’ between Bran and Julia was cute, and I loved the fact he went all alpha on her even when she was quite capable of protecting herself, and while she was supposed to be covertly looking out for him as well.

"I said… I wouldn’t sleep with you… I lied"

I knocked half a star off, because I had an idea early on who the villain of the piece might be and was proved correct in the end, something which rarely happens when I read this authors work. That-said I enjoyed the story between this pair immensely, both of them were working through their own demons, the sexy-times were plentiful and we got to see more of the Wilde Securities team, with Cole and Rick taking centre stage in secondary roles.

"I’m going to stand between you and any threat… You understand?"

Good to know that there are more books due from the series with Rick up next in Fighting for Her due late August, I hope Cole gets his book after that.

Who doesn’t love a bad boy rockstar?

I loved The Heart You Break. Bran and Julia were perfect for each other, and I really loved their story. I seriously couldn’t put it down. The romance was amazing, the suspense was amazing. Cynthia Eden knocked another out of the park!

This book has everything I love in a book. Romance, suspense, action, a perfect heroine and a perfect hero. The hero is an alpha, possessive and protective. I love me those type of heroes.
I can’t wait to continue reading more of this series.

First of all, I like the different roles that the characters have been in during the entire Wilde Security Series. Each story is different except for having a strong female and an alpha male in them. That is a trademark of a Cynthia Eden story. The Heart You Break reminded me of all things I enjoy about Cynthia Eden’s books. One of the best is the smart, strong and quite capable heroine. I was thrilled to see Julia Slate as the bodyguard. Also I loved that she looked fragile which only caused others to underestimate her true abilities. She is tough!

I am not much for rocker stories but this one was a hit with me. Perhaps it is because it takes place at a cabin where Bran Copper has gone to write new material. It is not so much about the outlandish lifestyle of the famous. His struggle with certain aspects does come up, showing that he continues to work to overcome some of the vices that can easily happen. Most of the focus is on the attraction between Julia and Bran, while she is working undercover to protect him. I couldn’t help but laugh when he tries to protect her.

The story starts out at a fast pace never slowing down as the danger from the deranged stalker escalates. What a surprised when the identity of the stalker is revealed. Part of the tension in the story is also on what will happen when Bran discovers that Julia is not who she has pretend to be. All is not lost as the conclusion is positively satisfying.
