DNF

I struggled to get through the introduction by Eileen Myles as it seemed really all over the place and then reading the actual novel, I was like what in the world is this? The main issue I had is the author’s inserts of the French language without any translation, and someone who only took French up until grade 9; I could somewhat understand. The writing itself was alright but a bit flowery and I did appreciate the bi-sexual representation in the main character.

I thought this book was interesting, but could not find my footing nor was I really engaged. Perhaps it's just a consequence of the time, but I have to DNF this one all the same. Nevertheless, thanks for allowing me to read in advance — I really love the cover!

Heroine was revolutionary at it's time - but now, in the light of day and in the modern world - this comes off repetitive and militant. Also, everyone was kind of the worst.

It's feminist but in the way that punk rock is music. It's...harsh, it's angry and hard to read.

I love it.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

I was a tad bummed I couldn't download a kindle version, as that's highly preferred.. but.. on to the book itself.
I could NOT connect to this book in any way.. I couldn't even finish it honestly.

The narrative style was weird, I could not make any connection with the book. This read is just not for me, thanks for the opportunity anyway.
