This is a great book for know parents and kids dealing with dyslexia. It's great that a monkey was used to represent dyslexia and showed how hard it can be for kids to live with dyslexia

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I get the concept of t his book. It didn't really appeal to me, but I'm also not the target audience either. So I'm not sure how to rate it.

This book is about a student named and the monkey on her back Dyslexia. This book is meant for kids to work on their emotional issues around their learning disability, but I love that the book is vague enough it could be used for almost any type of learning or life difficulty. However, what I do not like is the Forward. These really have no place in the front of picture books. This one not only tells us what the book is about, but then goes on to praise the author for all the awards they have won. Guess what?! I don’t care! If this had to be included, it should be at the back of the book, not the beginning.

I recieved this copy of this book for an honest review. I enjoyed reading this book to my 8 year old. I read it because she is starting 3rd grade at a new school and thought it would be a good one to read with her.

This is a book meant for a very particular audience. Children who struggle specifically with dyslexia. But I think it could communicate the feelings of kids with a lot of different struggles.

I love the metaphor of the monkey. It will be relateable to kids. They'll read it and go-Hey! I've got a monkey, too! But it also explains what is happening and encourages them to succeed anyway.

This is a short picture book about Anna and her monkey. Anna is a third grader whose monkey is with her all the time. The monkey represents the dyslexia that makes school life challenging at times. Anna explains how her monkey distracts her, changes the directions of letters and more. She expresses her concern that she will not make it through third grade. However, Anna also shows some ways in which her monkey is a good companion and she does make it to her finish line.

This book was written for adults to read with children who have dyslexia. It is a way to open a conversation and talk about a topic that can be difficult. There are some suggestions for discussion at the end of the book.

This book fills a niche for children who have dyslexia and also for students who may need to empathize with a friend or fellow student's situation. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this read in exchange for my honest review.

This is a fantastic symbolic picture book helping kids with dyslexia understand they can still overcome their problems if they learn how they can cope with it. Colourful and adorable illustrations accompany this fantastic story. A must have for any child struggling with learning.

"There's a Monkey in My Backpack!" is a creative, fun and important children's book written by Don M. Winn for children with dyslexia. This is an excellent book for helping kids understand their own challenges and what kinds of ways it could impact their lives at school, at the park, or even with their own creativity and imagination.

The book also includes some questions that a parent or caregiver could go through with the child to help them understand and express themselves even better.

This book is an excellent resource for ever child suffering from dyslexia and their parents too!

I received this as an eBook from Cardboard Box Adventures via NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review of the title. I did not receive any compensation from either company. The opinions expressed herein are completely my own.
