When I first began this book, I did not like Mitt as others that he encountered. But due to the good writing, I actually began to feel for him once his journey began. I do understand that the book is loosely based on a true crime, but I had never heard of the crime before. This did not matter while reading this book. Good, solid writing and holds your interest. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

Murder in Palm Beach is a must read!

This psychological thriller starts with a ringing of the doorbell at the home of Roger., a prominent Palm Beach resident. Shots are fired and he is fatally wounded.

The story is loosely based on an actual true-crime that occurred almost 4o years ago.in Palm Beach. I distinctly remember the story and it was intriguing back then. So, when the opportunity presented itself for me to review this book I could not wait to read the novel.

Boy, am I glad I read this book. It is riveting, suspenseful, and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I was provided this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion.

Murder in Palm Beach takes a true crime and sets it into a fictionalized story of murder and consequences. No, it does not pretend to solve the murder, it gives you the story of the man the police decide to convict of the crime. Did he do it? It's very hard to decide since the evidence has been set to insure his conviction. Bob Brink gives us an excellent story of how evidence can be slanted to fit a particular outcome, in this case, a guaranteed conviction of a man who might not have committed this particular crime. The story is compelling, the writing top notch and the questions raised many. A very good example of crime fiction at it's best.

this book was based on a 1976 assassination and I thought I would like that kind of book so I gave it a try and wasn't for me. I didn't like how it was patchy a lot of the time. the story didn't flow for me. so I gave upon it 1/2 way in.

My review from a NETGALLEY ARC

A fantastic redemption story of a man caught in the hands of justice that is not blind but slanted. A great casserole of fact/fiction that keeps you reading and rooting. I liked this one a lot.

Murder in Palm Beach is a loosely fictionalized account of the murder of Richard Kreusler in Palm Beach. The story follows the man who was convicted of the murder, based on loosely related circumstantial evidence, and the testimony of 4 convicts. The fact that the 4 convicts perjured themselves simply to get lighter sentences for their own crimes does seem to be typical of Florida.
Like certain other authors, it's clear that Brink used to be a journalist. The chapters and sections in the chapters tend to be very short, though at times light on the description. There are a few times that the story just jumps from one character POV to another and that gets tedious for reading.
Some of the instances that take place in the prison and the lunacy that leads up to the final capture of the actual murderer read like something out of a Tim Dorsey novel, and not in a good way. Wanting to make the wrongly convicted felon (he was serving time for a number of other crimes that he did commit) the hero is one thing, but portraying the police as some completely corrupt and incompetent with no consequences for their actions just smacks of absurdity.

This book sounded great and I was excited to get the opportunity to review it in exchange for this honest review, thanks to netGalley. Sadly, this book struggled to live up to my expectations. I struggled to get through it and wouldn’t recommend it.

Excellent read. Hard to put the book down. Right from the start you were sucked in and new this was going to be a good one. The storyline was wicked. Not quite knowing where it was going next. There was lots of twists and turns in the road.

Murder in Palm Beach: The Homicide That Never Died by Bob Brink is a full length, standalone contemporary novel.
A story, well written, contains romance, violence, power plays, sisnister forces, a hero full of himself, a mix of fact and fiction.
Rodger Kriger was murdered. The police sttles on Mitch Hecher, a karate instructor, a man full of himself. The state attorney James Scraponia despises him and charges him with murder. This is the wake up call, Mitch needs. When his wife dies he's more than devastated and sets everything in motion to get out of prison.
I liked the storyline and the characters. I give 4,5 stars.

Cheesy, poor dialogue, waste of time. Too many good books available to read, this one was awful. Characters are unbelievably ridoculous.

Mitt Hecher is a small time hoodlum who runs rings round the police. When the murder of Rodger Kriger occurs with no obvious suspects. Prosecutor Scraponia with the testimony of 4 convicts (for a reduced sentence) pins the murder on Mitt. Mitt is put away for 25 years in a brutal prison. Mitt uses his training in karate to survive. The story follows the Mitt and lawyers who believe justice was not done in trying to uncover the truth. Mitt has a true supporter in his wife and their love runs through the story. You really connect with Mitt in his fight against the Justice and political system and his reforms of the inmates around him.

Murder at Palm Beach
By Bob Brink

3 stars

Full of drama

Realistic and believable character development.

Unfortunately, the plot is dragged out too far to flow really well. Those who persistent though the middle of the book will come to a satisfactory ending.

Murder in Palm Beach is the saga of a battle between a man whose swagger has sent him spiralling to the bottom and powerful, sinister forces determined to keep him there. It is a narrative of redemption wrapped in a mystery tale reeking with power, sex, and violence. It also contains a heart-rending love story.

Readers who enjoyed Evan Ratliff’s true crime book titled “THE MASTERMIND: Drugs. Empire. Murder. Betrayal.” will be naturally drawn to "MURDER IN PALM BEACH, The Homicide That Never Died," albeit a fictional thriller based on a true unsolved murder. The writer's clever narrative will leave the reader wondering what parts are factual and what parts are fictional. Fans will appreciate the fast paced action, realism, smooth transitional dialogue, and in-depth character development. The story-line is disturbingly appalling, leaving the reader to wonder whether justice is truly blind.

Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege of reading this book for an honest review. I will definitely look forward to reading more by this talented author.
