One last job as a bounty hunter defending an innocent man is more that she possibly could have imagined. This face past action filled story will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Risking It All was an okay read for me. It wasn't my favorite book in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. I struggled a bit to get through this one. Unfortunately, it didn't keep me as interested as the first book did.

The premise of the story was a good one, but it really lacked in execution for me. I don't want to say that Cara was dumb necessarily (because that makes me feel mean) so let's just say she had very poor decision-making skills. Like, for someone from a family of bounty hunters it was absolutely astounding, making it almost painful to read at times.

I love a grumpy, grunty, man-of-few-words hero, but there was so little to Henry it was hard to see how any relationship could have been genuine with him in such a short period of time. He did have a few good moments (I absolutely LOVED the Battleship scene!) but what I would have given for chapters from his POV! Being in Cara's POV and constant internal monologue actually bogged things down and really flattened the story for me.

Finally, I can usually suspend my disbelief while reading, especially something like romantic suspense. However, you're telling me they survived the whole ordeal, an escape, car chase, shoot out, grenades, a cliff, everything, with no injuries? Not a scratch? Nothing but tense muscles? It was too much. Especially to then get taken out by the river of all things. I feel like it was a missed opportunity to be a bit more realistic, and also up the stakes and give readers a taking-care-of-an-injured-partner scene.

I wanted to love it, but unfortunately, this one didn't work for me!

I have loved every other book I have read by Katie Ruggle but this one was not for me. It felt more like a Stephanie Plum spoof type story than real romantic suspense. The female lead was also too young in age or behavior for me to relate to and by halfway through - even skimming - I realized this book was not one I would spend more time with. Thank you for the opportunity. I will try another Katie Ruggle not in this series sometime in the future.

This novel from Katie Ruggle, Risk it All is a part of the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. It could stand alone quite easily. Ms Ruggle does a good job of providing just enough background and character back story. Risk it All moves along briskly as out hero and heroine fall in love whilst trying to prove our hero's innocence. The characters are engaging and the story is entertaining, and the dialogue is sharp and witty. I just wished that the story wasnt all viewed through the heroine's point of view. I will continue with the series.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Im not sure I've ever read a Katie Rule book that I didn't enjoy. Risk It All is a good book. She wants out of the family business (which happens to be bounty hunting). There are 5 sisters who are bounty hunters. He's innocent and desperate to prove it. She believes he's innocent. They get closer while working together and he's determined to keep her safe.

I am so loving this series! The Pax sisters are fabulous, but I think Cara might be my favorite. I find her quirky, spunky and adorable. I love her commitment to her sisters and willingness to put herself in a situation that she was not comfortable in. Henry is all man and adorable. I so enjoyed the humor, romance and suspense that was expertly woven throughout this book. I cannot wait for the next one!

I am really enjoying this series so far! I actually liked this second book even more than first and I am really looking forward to the rest of the series. This book was filled with action, some humor, and a steamy romance to round it all out.

Cara is studying to be a kindergarten teacher and usually does the behind the scenes research work for the family bounty hunter business. She leaves the actual field work to three of her sisters. But with their resources being stretched, decides she needs to step up and start helping out in the field. Of course she keeps this a secret from her sisters for some strange reason and ends up in trouble.

Cara is funny, smart, sweet, and a little timid. She thinks that she is not brave, but she really is. She keeps her composure in life threatening situations and shows that he is a lot tougher than she originally thought. While she is first intimidated by Henry, she soon feels connected to him and believes in his innocence without any proof, based on his actions.

Henry has skipped bail on a double murder charge and warns Cara away from him. He is amused by her and intrigued, but wants her to stay away. Unfortunately, they keep running into each other and he is compelled to save her life, more than once. He is incredibly protective of her, but admires her strength and determination. He is determined to get her to safety.

We don't see the sisters as much in this one as we did in the first, but they still have a strong presence. Some of the criminal element from the first book appears in this one as well.

I had some suspicions about how this story was going to end, and I am happy to say in some cases I was 100% correct. And I loved it.

The epilogue gives us a teaser of the next book in the series, and which of the remaining sisters it will feature. And I can't wait for it to come out!

Risk It All (Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters #2). By Katie Ruggle. 2019. Sourcebooks Casablanca (ARC eBook).

Cara Pax aspires to be a Kindergarten teacher, not a bounty hunter like the rest of her sisters. She’s uncomfortable with confrontation, so she contributes to the family business by doing behind-the-scenes computer research to help trace the skips. But ever since their own mother jumped bail and left the sisters in a jam, she has been feeling like she should do more to help. She probably shouldn’t have chosen to go after Henry Kavenski though. On paper, Kavenski would bring in the most money. Also on paper, Kavenski is a suspected murderer.

What is a man suppose to do when an earnest Cara Pax keeps interrupting his secret rendezvouses in parks and bars? As it turns out, he'll risk it all to keep her out of harm's way.

Cara is so darn nice, and Henry is a man of few words, but there is a clever charm about the pair. If you like Carol Higgins Clark’s Regan Reilly books, you’ll enjoy this series.

Cara and Henry's story was a real page turner, with lots of action, suspense, some humor thrown in, and a connection that neither was ready for. Cara is usually doing the research for her sisters while they do the bounty hunting, but a skip pops up in the name of Henry Kavenski as Cara is almost run over in a parking lot as he steps in to save her. Their story takes off with lots of fast action as things continue to happen that suggests that someone is out to get Cara. Henry is there again to protect her from the criminals that may have set him up for the murders. Their story is fast paced with lots of banter between them as Henry tries to keep Cara safe as they work together to bring the criminals to justice and clear Henry's name. "Risk It All" is one that you won't want to miss that keeps the reader engaged to find out how their story plays out for their own HEA.

This is Cara Pax and Henry Kavenski’s story, Book 2 in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series; a standalone, happily ever after, no cheating, action romance with sizzle.
This is a fast paced, action packed, slow burn romance. Great hero and heroine and storyline with a nicely developed romance. Looking forward to more.

This is the second book in this highly entertaining, action packed series about the 5 Pax sisters who run their bounty hunter business out of their family home. The property is now in jeopardy, because their mother stole a necklace, got caught, used the title for their house (which the girls had been paying the mortgage on, but inadvertently had failed to remove her name from the title) as collateral on her bond, and then skipped out on it. The shady bondman that she used, knew that the girls had been paying the mortgage and has been using that as leverage to get them to chase after dangerous skips.

Cara wants to be a kindergarten teacher, but their mother had also stolen her tuition money. Her normal roll in the business is research, but to ease the pressure on her sister, she attempts to capture murderer Henry Kavenski, by breaking into his motel room. He walks in on her, but only finds her amusing, lets her go and then saves her life. Not only does she find herself attracted to the felon, but she is convinced that he is innocent and is going to prove it. Meanwhile she goes after another skip, a white collar criminal, but gets kidnapped herself and Henry has to rescue her again.

Endearing characters, snappy banter and an action packed, page turning adventure make this a terrific read. I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Cara is a bounty hunter in the family business, but her heart isn’t in it and she isn’t very good at it. In fact, she’s trapped into doing it. This is a good entry into the series. While I kind of had a hard time with Cara’s whiny attitude, I could also understand the bitterness that went with it. Cleaning up someone else’s catastrophe is not fun. Enter Henry: NOW it’s fun!

Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

This is the second book in the 'Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters' series. I found this book to be highly entertaining, the action and characters are well written. I have not read the first book in the series but I'm hoping to change that very soon. I felt this book could be read alone but would love to read the series from the beginning. I enjoyed the characters, felt them to be well developed and love the awkward humor that the heroine gave us. I could see myself beginning friends with the Pax sister's. I look forward to reading more with this series and recommend this book to those who like action, suspense, sweet kindergarten type teacher heroine and sexy good samaritan bad boys.

Risk It All is the second book in Katie Ruggle's newest series about Bounty Hunter sisters. The first book and the prequel sets up the whole premise on how the Pax sisters got into the business and why they're still at it This overarching plot present in all the books but Risk It All can still be read as a standalone. Cara Pax is the reluctant bounty hunter sister, she's definitely going to finish her teaching degree and stick to it, but first she needs to bring in a bounty to help with bills that her mother has so thoughtfully left behind for them. Problem is she definitely doesn't excel in the physical aspect of the trade and she definitely fails at stalking the bounty, particularly for someone as big as Henry Kavenski. She makes a big pass on him when she fails on the stalking bit. But when her newest bounty intersects with Henry she pretty much gets all the action she ever intends in her life. It's soon obvious that Henry isn't the bad guy he's painted to be and now she has to trust him to get them out of the mess she finds herself in. Ms. Ruggle never misses the mark when it comes to really likable characters, adrenaline pumping action and plotlines that keep you guessing where the story is headed. Cara and Henry also happens to radiate adorableness despite the fact bad guys are shooting at them and they may face hypothermia and certain death by nature when evading them. It's easy to see why Ms. Ruggle is making a name for herself in the Romantic Action/Suspense genre. Her characters get hurt a lot but they definitely kick ass all the time. And while the romance may appear insta love, I still feel it doesn't deter too much from the main story at all. This is kick ass action, sizzling sexual chemistry and humor interwoven into a suspense filled plot with characters that are simply adorable as well.

As I have said before, author Katie Ruggle has a wicked sense of humor and we see it again in this laugh out loud funny rom-com, “Risk it All.”

The second book in the “Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters” that features 5 sisters who has undertaken the very dangerous job of bounty hunters. In Book 1 “In Her Sights,” Molly Pax is the perfect action heroine – sassy, confident and has moves that can Jason Bourne a run for his money.

In “Risk it All” (Book 2), we meet Molly’s younger sister, Cara Pax who happens to be a card-carrying nerd. More at home in front of a computer with white hat hacking skills, Cara is the epitome of how not to be a bounty hunter.

She has the observation skills and can easily connect the dots, but her reaction time is a beat to slow in the fast-moving world of bounty hunting.

Enter his bounty- Henry Kavenski, who on paper is a dangerous criminal but he rescues puppies from certain death and protects Cara’s back. What kind of bounty is that?

So in-between life-endangering moments, Cara and Henry starts a dangerous flirtation that could both cost them their lives. And these are the moments that make this book a standout. Author Katie Ruggle can mix humor and action without batting an eyelash.

An inept criminal who vacillate between being a bad guy and a bounty hunter who is brilliant in deduction but just don’t have the hair trigger physical reflexes for the job seem like a recipe for disaster. Still, it works. Cara and Henry are lovable protagonists.

“Risk It All” is Rated T for Teens. Parental guidance strongly advised due to violence and graphic descriptions of crime scene.

**4.5 Stars**

Is there anything better than a bubbly and adorable heroine paired with a dangerous and brooding monosyllabic hero? I’ll answer that question, NOPE. One of my all-time favorite pairings written to perfection by one of my top romantic suspense authors in RISK IT ALL. The book follows reluctant bounty hunter, Cara, and her mark/accused murderer, Henry. A bounty hunter and the jump she is pursuing? Yes, please.

One of my favorite parts of Ms. Ruggle’s writing is that she balances the fine line between dramatic and cheesy, witty and annoying, without ever stepping over. The adventure is perfectly paced and exciting. The romance unfolds in a beautifully organic way that will have you ACHING for a first kiss.

Cara and Henry balanced each other well, especially in a crisis. I could feel their connection in the crazy moments, like a car chase, and the small moments, when Henry gives Cara one of his signature, sexy half-smiles. There was just enough banter to keep the overall tone of the story light, even when the situation our main characters are in is dire.

I adore the fact that this series is about a group of bounty hunting sisters determined to save themselves. The bond between the sisters is fun and often laugh out loud funny. I look forward to each sister getting a book.

The only part that confused me a bit was how all the people chasing them were related. I know both Cara and Henry were tied to Abbot, but it all became a little murky because Henry was keeping so many secrets. Luckily, it all resolved at the end.

Overall, there is a reason that Ms. Ruggle is one of my favorite authors and, it’s apparent in every part of this book. A fun, fast-paced, and sweet romantic suspense novel that will appeal to a broad audience.

I liked this installment in the series. Cara is an intelligent woman who gets in way over her head while trying to help the business. She may end up being a damsel in distress because of that, but she shows enough grit and determination – not to mention a quirky sense of humor – to make it enjoyable. Henry is my favorite “is he good or is he bad” kind of man. I also liked that it took a while to figure that out. Their romance didn’t scorch the pages and that was fine and fit well with the story. Although I wished there was more a group dynamic between the sisters, the storyline and romance between Henry and Cara was a wild ride. Some improbable situations? Possibly…but so much fun. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
