This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

So excited to see the next Pax sister's story! Cara seems like she has a great heart but a bit reckless to take on criminals without being prepared.

If Henry was there to save her, Cara would have meet a bad end! You can tell that Henry doesn't seem to be the killer that he is charged with.

There is non-stop action as Cara is kidnapped and almost killed and Henry and Cara are on the run to stay alive. I could not put the book down as I wanted to know who the real killer was and how Henry was going to be proved innocent. The reveal was not what I expected at all but there were enough little clues that I should have figure it out!!

I only wish that we would have had a bit more details on Henry's side when all is revealed. We get the killer's confession but not about his part of how he was involved after the murder. Some of the details were for you to figure out but I always worry that I got it wrong if it is not spelled out for me!

Can;t wait to see the next book and that last chapter is a teaser!

I enjoyed this story overall more than the first book in the series. I felt like I related to Cara in that I'm-more-of-a-behind-the-scenes type girl and she went with her gut. I also like that it was kind of focused on then running away and escaping from trouble while also tying into a more overarching plot. It definitely increased my excitement and I sort of whizzed through the middle chunk of the story because it was so action-packed/romance-packed.

Gotta love a cabin in the woods, cute board games, and only one bed situation.

The main male lead also had my heart, and even though it was 100% believable that he was a good guy that had gone down for a crime, I like the way things turned out in the end for him, showing that he is a good-hearted, shy, tough guy.

Overall, the romance and the plot were both well paced and I'm excited to see where Katie takes this series with Norah.

Risk It All by Katie Ruggle’s Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters has tough bounty hunters of course but they are also sisters. I love that about this series. Cara Pax believes in justice but not the hands -n bounty hunting part of the job. Anyone who has ever felt as if they didn’t fit in the role that was given to them in life would understand exactly how she feels. Still you have to admire that she wants to finish strong before moving on but she also wants truth to win.

Henry Kavenski may be innocent but many want to nail him for a crime anyway. As Cara and he join forces danger arrives too. The suspense and action are as important in the story as the romance. Definitely a page turner.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In general, I love this author’s writing. Her stories will suck you in and make you laugh, cry, and sit on the edge of your seat. For some reason, I’m not finding that to be the case as much with this series. These are still wonderful stories, but there’s something missing for me. I love the characters, I love the concept of the overarching story, as well as the stories of the individual sisters, so what’s the issue? I’m having a bit of a hard time knowing for sure, but while reading this one I think I may have come up with at least part of the reason.

Let me start by saying I’m not a point of view (POV) snob. I know some people cannot stand 1st person narratives, and some struggle with alternating views. As long as I’m enjoying the story and the writing is good, I have no problem with any POV. It’s fun to mix it up anyway. Well, these stories (so far) have been written in 3rd person, but with that 3rd person only telling things from the heroine’s side. In Ms. Ruggle’s past books I’ve read she uses 3rd person, but we see all sorts of characters along the way. So, while we know what the heroine is thinking or doing at all times, we don’t get that insight into the hero. Which, I have now found, makes it harder for me to connect. Because, like I already said, I really enjoy everything about these stories…I’m just missing a connection somewhere. I think this is that missing link for me.

On to the actual story. Cara and Henry are so cute together. I know, a weird thing to say about a potential murderer and his bounty hunter. But we all know Henry is going to be innocent at the end, and that’s not a spoiler. The author isn’t going to have one of her heroine’s fall for a bad man.

Cara’s ingenuity in the face of trouble is great. She may freeze up when it comes to Henry a time or two, but when’s she’s truly in trouble she is a little spitfire. Her brain goes a mile a minute and helps to keep her alive. Which I cannot get into too deeply or I’d be giving you spoilers, something I hate doing.

Because Cara’s brain goes a mile a minute, her mouth often does, too. Which is an advantage for Henry since he doesn’t really have to say much…Cara fills in the blanks herself. Whether she fills those blanks in correctly or not isn’t really the point. Henry lets her think what she will because it’s easier for all of them that way.

The last half of this book isn’t really what I expected, but it gave me a lot of the action I had been missing previously. I enjoyed how the story played out and, although I’m not getting as fully invested in these characters as I have the author’s other characters, I still find myself rooting for all of the sisters and their potential mates. I’ll definitely be continuing this series to see how things play out for the rest of the sisters, as well as their mother.

I can always count on Katie Ruggle to deliver an intriguing, exciting, fast paced romance novel. Cara was the sister I was the most excited to read a book about. She isn’t interested in staying in the family business and wants to become a teacher. You can tell she has a big heart and is more interested in helping people rather than catching them. Henry is a good match for Cara, and they have great Chemistry. I definitely recommend Risk it All if you are looking for a suspenseful romance with a good bit of humor.

A great continuation of this fun series! In fact, I think I liked it even more than book 1, and that is due to Cara. The sweet researcher will do anything for her family, including trying to pull her weight in the bounty hunting business. There is something really endearing about her that just pulls you in. I liked her with Henry more than I expected at the beginning, and they really are great together. There is lots of action in this book, which I always appreciate. The rest of the family played fairly minor rolls in this story, but I do recommend reading book 1 first so you understand the backstory with the family drama.

I had a little difficulty getting into this book as I found Cara was a little too naive and juvenile for me but she did redeem herself in the second half of the story. This book read more like an adrenaline packed adventure since there were several nail biting scenes involving a car chase and a roaring river and only one intimate scene that was mildly steamy. Even though this is told in only Cara’s POV, there is no mistaking Henry’s romantic interest. It is only when you get to the end, that you understand the author’s choice in writing only in Cara’s POV. An enjoyable read.

Cara Pax doesn’t want to be a bounty hunter. Her dream is to become a kindergarten teacher, but knows the bounty hunting is what pays for her college classes. She may be a wiz on the computer, able to research all aspects of a case, but she hasn’t done much field work. Since her sisters are all busy on other cases, she takes it upon herself to jump in the field tracking Henry Kavenski. As she continues her research and her surveillance, she becomes convinced that he isn’t guilty.

She is quirky and a little naive, but has a whole lot of heart. He is protective, quick thinking, and on the run. Together they are an unlikely pair working together to clear his name.

There was more action packed into this story than there was relationship building. These two quickly find themselves in situation after situtation that requires quick thinking and fortitude to get out of. Cara’s inexperience in the field causes her to make several decisions based on her naivete and makes keeping her safe even harder for Henry.

I was really hoping the story arc with their mother and the stolen necklace was going to play a bigger role in this storyline, but the search for both their mother and the necklace was all off page (and not really mentioned). This was a fun return to the Pax sister’s story and I look forward to more from this series.

Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters #2, This was such a fun read. I like that it gives you a brief recap at the beginning of the book to catch you up if you haven't read the first one or just a refresher if you have. Cara is not a skip trace like her other sisters she prefers the research when she's not studying to become a teacher but with the crap going on with her mom and two of her sisters concentrating their efforts on finding her she tries to help out unfortunately she just gets herself into danger. Accused murder Henry Kavenski is the skip she decides will bring in enough money to help support the family, but she soon realizes she is in way over her head and decides to drop it for one a little less violent crime related but even then it turns out not to be as easy as she thinks.

Henry spots Cara her first day of following him and when he catches her trying to break in to his hotel room he thinks she's properly scared off but when she accidentally sits down at his booth in a sleazy bar tracking someone else down he warns her that there is more to that case than she thinks. Following her to return something as inconsequential as a bottle of aspirin may not have been smart but he had to make sure she dropped looking for the other skip. In doing so he might have just put her in more danger.

Cara gets kidnapped and thankfully Henry shows up when he did and saves her even if they end up driving the car off the road and have to trek two day through the cold mountains before they get to a town all the while dodging bad guys. Overall, it was a great read. I loved the twist at the end, I was hoping it would be something like that and I'm glad the story worked out the way it did. Katie Ruggle is an auto buy for me as soon as I see the paperback in the store it goes in my cart. I always enjoy her characters, Cara is sweet and stronger than she thinks, Henry is a strong silent type (my favorite). Ruggle ties humor in so well with the action. The entire story was enjoyable.

This is a great addition to the previous book about the these five bounty hunting sisters in the rocky mountains and if you haven't read In her Sights then make sure you do you won't be disappointed and we are introduced to these sisters in the turn the tide anthology Do yourself a favour and read them all

Cara is the quite member of the family the one who does the behind the scenes work but she knows she needs to step it up if they are to save the family business So she decides to head out after a skip problem is she isn't really qualified to take him down. and Henry Kavenski catches her in his room. Henry has been accused of a murder he didn't commit. Can he prove his innocence while continually having to pull Cara out of the trouble she gets herself into and what about the simmering sexual tension between them Will they get a HEA You will have to read to see

I enjoyed the second half better than the first half. The characters were fun, though I had Henry worked out with no surprises. The beginning of the book was more comical and the second half became action and suspense. All round an entertaining read.

Risk It All is the second book in Katie Ruggle's Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. I thought the first book was great fun and figured this book would be more of the same, but it wasn't...it was even more fun, a non-stop thrill ride! Reading this was like watching an exciting action film, but better. (Because we all know books are always better than the movie!)

Cara Pax is in the bounty hunter business with her four sisters; however, she really doesn't want to be a part of the family business, as she is studying to be a kindergarten teacher. Her family desperately needs money or else they will lose their beloved home, so Cara decides to forgo her usual research role and bring in an actual bounty. She decides to pursue Henry Kavenski, who is accused of two murders but says he is innocent. When she is caught by him breaking into his motel room, she decides she needs to go after easier - and safer - bounty. She chooses to go after a tax evader instead, which isn't a safer choice. Henry, who is at the same bar that Cara is staking out, saves her life when a car attempts to mow her down in the parking lot. When Cara's life is endangered due to her contact with Henry, the two go on the run, pursued by real killers.

Though this book has an abundance of action, it is once again Ms. Ruggle's enchanting characters who drive the story. Cara seems to be a lot more innocent than her kick-ass sisters; but when she begins to believe that Henry truly is innocent, she finds out she is much braver than she ever imagined she was. Henry is a strong, silent mountain of a man, but he is quietly charmed by quirky Cara. Their romance is slow burning, but when it ignites it's both steamy and funny. I found myself both laughing aloud and getting misty-eyed. Cara's sisters don't have large roles in this installment, but their love and support for each other is obvious even when they aren't together. This has quickly become one of my favorite series, and I am beyond impatient already waiting for Norah's story!

I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Risk It All is the second title in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series – and am I ever enjoying, no, make that loving the adventures and the personalities of the Pax sisters. Talk about kick butt and take names… even Cara who usually does the research part of their bounty hunting operation gets into the action this time, to dangerous, intriguing, romantic, and at times, humourous results. I’ll say up front that I loved this one and definitely need more, right now, please.

Cara and Henry make that couple that I just smile at throughout their story. Henry has been accused of murder, he’s innocent but he fled in order to track down the true villain in his situation. Cara has research experience but no actual in the field experience on bringing in a skip but she’s decided that Henry will be her first. Her mother’s actions have put the entire family in danger so she’s going to do what she can to help. Only things don’t go exactly as she envisioned when she left home to start this self-assignment.

I enjoyed Risk It All so much. Without going into details for this story should be read firsthand for your own enjoyment, Cara’s and Henry’s story is full of danger, laughter, intrigue, sweet moments and sizzling chemistry. There are twists, a vile villain, and an intriguing secondary character cast. The story flowed for me and I was easily caught up in it all. Although this story “could” be read as a standalone I believe you’ll understand the underlying thread woven throughout the series more if you’ve started at the beginning. But that’s my opinion. In all, I had a great time with this adventure and would not hesitate to recommend it to any reader who loves Romantic Suspense or simply a damned good story.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This is a great addition to the series. I love all of this authors books and I can't wait to read more books in this wonderful series. Risk it All had great characters and an intriguing storyline. It was a little slow at the beginning but, it was a great read and I would definitely recommend it.

I really enjoyed this slow burn RS. Cara was quirky and fun and Henry brooding and mysterious. I had my suspicions early on. Lots going on in this one. The one sided POV takes some getting used to. Usually you only get that with first person.

It took me a bit to get into it. Was a little slow at the beginning but wow! This story is about Cara a bounty hunter, although she’s kinda new at it, chasing a skip. When said skip, Henry, catches her breaking into his apartment something happens. Can Cara clear him of a murder it didn’t do? Join Cara and Henry as they run from kidnappers and find the forbidden love!

Risk It All is the second novel in Katie Ruggle's Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series, and while I wasn't a fan of the first novel in the series, In Her Sights, giving it only 2 stars, I decided to give this series a second try and requested an advance reader copy. Happily, it was a huge improvement over In Her Sights and I found it impossible to put this one down, reading it cover-to-cover until 5:00 a.m., and it gets 5 stars from this reader.

This series features the five Pax sisters, whose grab-it-and-go, disreputable mother stole a $2 million dollar necklace, got arrested, put their house up as collateral to get out on bail and skipped town, even though the sisters were the house's true owners and had made all the payments on it, the shady bail bondsman is now blackmailing the sisters. There are people constantly breaking into their home, believing that the necklace is hidden there (it isn't). Even worse, the bail bondsman their mother used is one shady, manipulative character, and he's blackmailing the sisters. If they don't chase down and capture his bail jumpers, he'll sell their house out from under them. Two of the sisters are busy trying to track down their bail jumping mother, two are committed to tracking other bail jumpers by doing on-line research, and leaving only one sister who is actively trying to catch bail jumpers to earn enough money to pay for food, and pay their bills. Admittedly, the premise for this series is a bit out there, but in this novel, it all starts to make a strange kind of sense.

Cara, one of the research sisters, hasn't done any fieldwork at all, and is feeling guilty because she's not contributing much to their business, and their survival. Without mentioning it to her sisters, she decides to try her hand at nabbing a skip, and she doesn't start small. Instead, she decides to go after the skip that will earn her the most reward money, notorious accused murderer and major hunk, Henry Kavinski, and she's been spending her time following him around town, eventually deciding to pick his lock when she's sees him leave, but we soon learn that he's been aware that she's been following him all along, and he sets a trap for her. However, when he catches Cara in the act of breaking in, he doesn't harm her at all, instead, he let's her go, warning her to stay away from him, but Cara is not easily deterred, and she's nothing if not persistent. Henry soon comes to her rescue and saves her life as she leaves her stakeout at Dutch's Bar, only to have a speeding car come barreling towards her in the parking lot. It's incongruous to Cara that Henry would risk his own life to save hers, especially since he knows she's trying to bring him in for the reward money, but because he saved her at great risk to himself, she can't believe that he's a cold-blooded killer, or deny her attraction to him.

During Cara's next attempt to bring in another seemingly less dangerous skip than Henry, she ends up getting kidnapped, drugged, and left in a dingy cabin in the middle of nowhere, her arms and legs zip-tied, and even though she does manage to eventually free herself from the zip ties, it's Henry to the rescue again, and that's just for starters, because Ms. Ruggle has written one of the most exciting, death-defying, and high-gear chase sequences I've read in years, and, combined with the slow building attraction between these two seemingly mismatched characters., it's soon obvious that someone is trying to kill both of them, and thanks to Ms. Ruggle's sense of the absurd circumstances, Henry's valiant attempts to get them both to safety, and Cara's quirky sense of humor, it all worked for this reader.

While billed as romantic suspense, there's far more suspense than romance in this novel, but there is no denying the attraction and chemistry between these two characters, nor is there any doubt that Ms. Ruggle can write one heck of a suspenseful, exciting and dangerous novel, and lighten up the action with some comedy, sex, and affection. Even though this novel works fine as a standalone, I do recommend reading the first book in the series to get a handle on the dynamics of the relationships between the 5 sisters, and the background information on their relationship with their mother, as well as how they reluctantly became bounty hunters. The next novel in the series will feature Norah Pax, and I'm eagerly looking forward to reading it.

As stated, I read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
