An enjoyable read. Having recently read the first book, I greatly enjoyed continuing to meet the characters and see how the interact & move forward. I look forward to the next in the series.

In the first book in this series, In Her Sights, readers met the five spunky Pax sisters. They have running a lucrative bail recovery business. Keeping their mother Jane on the right side of the law was a job all on its own. Now that she has committed yet another crime, skipping bail after putting up the girls' family house up as bail, the business and family home are now in jeopardy.

Now Cara has her turn at bat. However, she is the least likely sister that has a chance at succeeding in this business. Give her the background work, and she is golden. So, she takes a chance at a huge skip in the name of Henry Kavenski. Try as she might and she runs into many obstacles. If she could just nab him, Cara is sure she will prove herself to her sisters once and for all. Meanwhile, Henry has a convincing story. However, will he get time to tell it?

Cara and Henry end up working together, giving Cara a chance to prove herself. She has to divide her time between classes (in college to become a kindergarten teacher) and the next skip, and things are far from easy. Cara is actually a magnet for trouble and Henry is never far behind keeping her safe. Meanwhile, Cara is drawn to Henry, and, if they could stay alive long enough, the pair just might have their turn at love.

I am enjoying these sisters. The fare in the first two books is rather lighthearted, but I did love seeing five women in a field I've not often seen in books. They certainly have plenty of work in front of them, and danger is always nipping at their heels. Factor in humor and romance and Katie Ruggle has the right formula for what should be a successful series.

Many thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Katie Ruggle keeps getting better and better. Risk It All is part crime drama, part survival adventure and all excitement.

The Pax sisters all contribute to the success of their bounty hunting business. But as a, hopefully, soon-to-be kindergarten teacher, Cara prefers research to field work. Yet with two of her sisters trying to track down their own bail-jumping mom, leaving Molly handling all the field work, Cara feels she needs to do her part in the trailing and tackling portion of bounty hunting.

That is what has Cara following a great big brute of a man who jumped bail on a double homicide. All she needs to do is put a tracker in his personal items when he steps out of his hotel room. Easy though it should be, Cara thought it would be the last mistake she would ever make when Henry Kavinsky catches her in his room. Except instead of brutally murdering her, just like the two people he is accused of killing, Henry simply lets her leave.

With each further encounter, Cara becomes more intrigued with Henry. Everything she learns screams that he couldn’t possibly be a cold-blooded killer. But before she can sink her teeth into an investigation of his supposed crime, Cara will have to put all her trust into Henry as they run for their lives from what might just be the true killers.

The only thing keeping Cara alive in the Colorado wilderness is a dangerous man who she has been consuming her thoughts. She knows that there is something not right about Henry’s case. But can her hormones really be trusted to correctly judge a man who is clearly dangerous, regardless of whether he is guilty of any crime?

Katie Ruggle has been on my favorite authors list for awhile now but I am really enjoying this Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunter series. I like these Pax sisters and as much as I liked Molly and John’s story, I was absolutely caught up in Cara and Henry’s story. I audiobooked this story but instead of switching to my eReader when I got home, I popped in my headphones so I could keep going with Cara and Henry. You knew something was not right about Henry’s story. He jumped bail but he didn’t leave town. He is accused of a brutal double homicide but he is gentle with Cara and becomes very protective. This whole thing stinks but how was he involved with all this? Not only did I need to get the answer to that but when Henry and Cara are forced to run from someone trying to kill them (her? him? both?) and end up stranded in the wilderness, needing to trust in each other for survival, I couldn’t stop listening.

Between the sweet Cara/Henry moments and all the action, I would highly recommend this story and the whole series because I am now looking forward to sister Nora’s story which was hinted at in the epilogue.

Risk It All is the second book in Katie Ruggle’s new series called Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters. This series is about five bounty-sisters who live deep in the Rocky Mountains and are fighting to keep their family together, as well as save the men they love.

Book two in this series focuses on Cara Pax, who is studying to become a kindergarten teacher, while trying to keep the family house and business afloat. Unfortunately, Cara gets in way over her head when she tries to bring in accused murderer Henry Kavenski, for jumping bail. Even worse, she doesn’t think he’s guilty of the crime and soon Henry’s enemies begin to target Cara.

The attraction between Cara and Henry is undeniable, and the chemistry ignites when they are forced to work together to stay alive. But can a bounty hunter and her bounty have a HEA? Read it and find out.

This book is written in third person from the point of view of the heroine only. This is a great storytelling technique as it leaves the reader in the dark about the thoughts and motivations of the hero. It makes for a lot of interesting plot twists.

This series has great characters, suspense and a sense of humour. I am looking forward to reading more about the Bounty-hunting sisters as they discover their own paths to love. Book two in this series ends with an epilogue that hints at Norah’s story as being the next in the series. I can’t wait!

All the books in Katie Ruggle’s series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself.

Cara Pax is normally a behind the scenes supporter of her family’s Bounty Hunting business doing research as she finishes getting her degree to be a kindergarten teacher. When her mom takes off which their house as collateral on her bounty, the sisters are forced to up their game taking on more dangerous jobs. Cara decides to go off on her own and try to bring in a possible murderer, Henry Kavinski. When she actually comes face to face with him and he doesn’t kill her? She decides he’s innocent and Henry will do everything he can to keep her safe.

This Bounty Hunters series is off to a great start! While Cara is more like a librarian than a bounty hunter she’s been trained in hand to hand combat and has plenty of backbone despite her quiet demeanor. When her kidnapping forces she and Henry together they don’t fight their attraction very long. Despite a predictable ending I did enjoy the sweetness of their love story.

The only thing that bothered me even a little bit was that I couldn’t get a very good picture of Henry in my mind other than that he was a big kind of quiet guy. Cara was vivid and bright, he just kind of paled in comparison. Despite that small thing, I still really liked this couple and this story. If you are in the mood for a quick paced romantic suspense novel pick this one up! Even though there’s an underlying series story I do think this novel could stand on it’s own.

The Pax sisters are bounty hunters, and Henry Kavenski is the latest skip they’re chasing. Cara, who’s also studying to become a kindergarten teacher, usually sticks to research, but she's been following Henry and takes a chance on searching his motel room after he leaves. And that’s just the first step of Cara being in way over her head.

Holy wow, this one starts off with a bang and then builds from there! It had me glued to the page, chewing my nails and forgetting to breathe at times! Hold on to your hats, because not only does Cara find more trouble in a few days than most people find in a lifetime, but the mysterious bail jumper, Henry, is all hot, mysterious and still waters that run ridiculously deep.

I haven’t yet read the other book in this series, but you can bet I’ll be catching up quickly. Although these books all stand alone, there is the mystery of the mother that looks like it will run through the series and be answered by the end. If it bothers you to have any loose ends, then read these books in order. Personally, it wasn’t an issue for me that I hadn’t read the first book because enough details are given about previous incidents that I didn’t feel like I was missing anything in this one.

Cara is completely adorable, and following her through the book took me from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other, and back. And Henry? Wellll, now, that man, all gruff, stoic and stone-faced practically leaped off the page and brought his big gooshy heart with him. These characters are both incredibly endearing and I was all in from the very beginning. So however you choose to read this series, just be sure to read it!

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute, fast paced thriller romance. Cara is a bounty Hunter following Henry around. He catches her and there begins a reluctant attraction and connection. I liked that Cara is quirky but also tough. She defense herself and goes after the answers she seeks. I also thought Henry was super sweet and protective. He constantly helps her feel safe without being overbearing.

Risk it All by Katie Ruggle is a fun romantic suspense. This is my first book by Katie and I enjoyed it. It is part of a series of five sisters that are running a bounty hunting business. Risk is All is Cara’s story. She is a very likeable character. She is helping her sisters with research and tries her hand at trying to bring in a skip. I enjoyed this scene where she meets Henry.

As a result she and Henry happen to end up in the same place and he saves her from danger a few times as she works on another skip. She ends up believing him that he is innocent and they work together. They had great chemistry together and one physical scene.

There is an undelying story through the series about their no good mother who has stolen something and caused the sisters all kinds of problems. Each book seems to stand alone.

I enjoyed the mystery and the characters and plan to read additional books by Katie.

Sexual content - one physical scene
violence - some minor violence, kidnapping

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

Risk It All is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series by Katie Ruggle. I do recommend reading this series in order, to have all of the characters in context, but I think newcomers could enjoy most of the story even without having read the previous book. It is currently scheduled for release on December 31 2019.

Cara Pax never wanted to be a bounty hunter. She's happy to leave chasing criminals and tackling skips to her sisters. But if she wants her dreams of escaping the family business to come true, she's got one last job to finish. Only problem is, she doesn't think her bounty is guilty. Henry Kavenski is a man with innocence to prove. When he realizes that Cara believes him, he'll do anything to keep her out of harm's way. Escaping criminals and dodging cops might not be the best time to fall in love, but Henry and Cara won't give up, not when there's a chance at a new life ahead—if they can survive the fall.

Risk It All is a good continuation of the series, and I think I enjoyed it more than the first. Cara was such a great character and I loved getting to know her better. Henry was a fun character to slowly discover as the layers of his personality were revealed. The danger elements were nicely balanced with the banter that I love so much in Ruggle's books. Seeing Cara come into her own and I enjoyed seeing her strength and determination play such an important part in the story. I was surprised a couple times along the way, and I enjoyed every moment of the ride. I will be continuing with this series.

Risk It All is another great read from Ruggle with a blend of heat, sweet, and danger to keep readers turning pages past our bedtimes.

A romance with bounty hunters, an accused murderer, a homicidal crime figure, car chase, and kidnapping shouldn't be cute and cuddly, but Cara and Henry's story is full of adorable. This was pure rom-com sweetness, mixed with a lot of lethal threats.

“Henry Kavenski, did you just save me from death by speeding car?”

Despite her family's bounty hunter business, Cara really is a lover, not a fighter. But despite her goal to become a kindergarten teacher and the murder charge pending against Henry, these two kids just get each other. Even with killers chasing at their heels and several brushes with death, Cara and Henry are just sweetly, quietly digging each other.

Katie Ruggle crafted a super entertaining story where a timid bounty hunger falls for an enigmatic man charged with murder and the chemistry between Cara and Henry is so good that their logic-defying story somehow make a whole lot of sense.

I'm not really invested in the overall arc involving the Pax sisters' larcenous and missing mom, but the Pax sisters themselves have been such adrenaline-charged romantic adventures that I can't wait for the next one.

Katie Ruggle’s Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series, about five sisters who live deep in the Rocky Mountains and are bounty hunters, isn’t one about sarcastic women who leave their guns in the cookie jar, no ma’am. They are badass forces to be reckoned with, and the worthy men who win their hearts. RISK IT ALL is the second installment, and follows Cara Pax, who we’ll call ‘the reluctant sister,’ because being a bounty hunter was never her forte. But she falls in line because she believes in the family part of ‘family business.’ She’s after Henry Kavenski, who, as it turns out, really is innocent. Though their romance builds with a slow boil, they have great chemistry and it’s enjoyable to watch their connection. Cara is quirky and optimistic, and Henry is protective and nothing like the cold-blooded killer he’s reputed to be. There’s a great overarching story arc running through the series, but each book is its own standalone powerhouse.

I just couldn’t get into the story . The h seemed a little too impulsive , not really well developed as a character. I also didn’t like the single POV.

Cara is the one who does research so why was she picking the lock on a motel room. Why was Henry Kavenski more amused than upset when he catching her. That is the start of a very dangerous journey for both. I loved both of the main characters. I could tell that they belonged together. I did get tired of the long deceptive section as they were on the run. I also thought Cara was a little slow on the uptake about who Henry really was. All in all a good second book in the series.

Risk It All is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series by Katie Ruggle. A captivating romance that is full of mystery, suspense, family, and lots of drama. The characters are well-written and intriguing. Ruggle writes with a loving touch and a hint of mystery that is full of twists and turns that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. While this is part of the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. However, once you start this series you will want to read them all! I am a huge fan of Ruggle's and cannot wait for the next book in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series

Cara is fun and sweet...trying to a badass but not quite succeeding...Henry is a little rough around the edges, and while he's had his issues...he seems to want to protect Cara even if it means he's going to get in trouble ;) Action packed, intriguing story with great characters!

This series is fast becoming a favourite! The Pax sisters are funny, fierce and all about distancing themselves from their mother...all whilst making sure they find her before she skips out on her court date!

Cara is the woman least likely to be a bounty hunter! She wants to concentrate on college and her dream job in Education. She can't leave her sisters holding the bag though. She decides to spread her wings and take on more of the high value skips, leaving her usual research role behind. However, she did not expect to come face to face with another Most Wanted while tracking down her original quarry. More worrying she didn't expect him to save her!

Henry has been labelled as a cold blooded killer but he is determined to investigate and reinstate his previous good reputation. If he could only get a certain bounty hunter out of his mind. Working together is only going to lead to trouble...of the romantic kind.

I loved this. It kind of reminded me of an old fashioned Hepburn/Tracy movie. Henry is a brilliant leading man. Cara may be naive but she isn't an idiot and I loved that she was passionate about her education and her family, she just doesn't want that life for herself.

Great read, superb characters and slow burn romance with plenty of tense action!

3.5

Ruggle balances romantic suspense tradition—non-stop action, a protective, taciturn alpha hero—with an unexpectedly un-kick-ass heroine to appeal both to those who enjoy the standard RS tropes and those who appreciate them leavened with a bit of humor and a whole lot of cuteness.

Twenty-two year old Cara is the odd sibling out in the Pax family's Colorado bounty-hunting business. Unlike her sisters, Cara isn't tough and adventurous; good on background and research, she's not all that comfortable on the bringing-in-the-skips front. All in all, she'd rather be studying to be a kindergarten teacher and hang out with cute kids all day long. But after their mother is caught stealing a priceless necklace and skips out on her bail after using their house as collateral, all the Pax sisters have to pitch in to save their home. The story opens with the humorously hapless Cara breaking into what she thinks is the hotel room of an on-the-run murderer, hoping to find something that will help her trap him. But when said murderer returns unexpectedly, and Cara's forgotten her Taser, she doesn't end up dead; the purported murderer, Henry Kavenski, seems to find the chattering Cara amusing, and allows her to leave, despite the lameness of her cover story.

After such an unexpected comic opening, the story fairly quickly shifts into action mode. Cara, who has a hard time believing such an attractive and kind man could really be a serial killer, continues to follow Kavenski, and he saves her life several times. After she is kidnapped, he helps her escape, but the subsequent chase leaves them stranded in the winter wilderness. Together. With a storm coming on and no rescue in sight...

I can see why many readers are charmed by this romantic pairing. The quiet, unflappable Kavenski is über-competent, and of course falls for his complete opposite, the talkative, funny, unselfconscious Cara. And Cara has an engaging narrative voice (the story is told entirely from her point of view)—"She shifted back, but he followed, and she realized that he was herding her away from the entrance like a sheepdog with a recalcitrant ewe." I can appreciate Ruggle's skill here, even if Cara is a bit too hapless for my taste, and Henry by comparison, is far too good at his job. Cara does end up showing major spirit and physical grit during their flight from the kidnappers, and during a later physical fight with the baddies, though, so an extra half-star for that. Although of course it is Henry who completes the final baddie take-down...

This is the second story featuring Rocky Mountain bounty hunting sisters. Cara Pax is the sister least likely to go after a big skip. She is in school to be a kindergarten teacher and does research for her sisters who do the fieldwork. But as things keep getting tighter due to her mother's transgressions, Cara decides to try to help out more in the field.

Her first attempted skip turns out to be a big, burly fascinating man named Henry Kavenski who happens to be accused of murder. He had every opportunity to punish her for her amateur stalking and even breaking and entering. But as their paths seem to keep crossing, she just cannot shake the fact that she does not believe he is a cold-blooded killer. And the fact that he seems to keep coming to her rescue seals the deal.

He is resourceful, protective, and there when she needs him. She is plucky, smart, tenacious, and being pushed out of her comfort zone. He has secrets and a shady history that should bother her. And he should be concerned that her original intent (and that of her family would be) to bring him in for bail money.

But someone is out to get them, either due to her family, her other investigation, or his past. And now they are in it together for better or worse. Cara is getting a crash course in the dangers of bounty hunting and hanging out with the seedier part of the world. Henry is getting a glimpse into what it feels like to have someone believe in him. They have each other's back in a host of hazardous situations, but they will have to escape all the trouble following them if they want a chance to make it out alive.

There is a lot of on-the-run action versus relationship development, but I did like both of them and felt they had chemistry. This brings back her four sisters, Charlie, Felicity, Norah, Molly, and her boyfriend, John, and throws in a few antagonists. It is full of suspense, danger, action, and some twists. There are some humorous scenes and a fish-out-of-water element due to Cara being inexperienced in the field. And in between all the danger and drama, there is an unlikely love story, personal growth, and redemption. There is still an ongoing story arc continuing throughout the series, though each book focuses on one couple. Next up seems to be sister, Norah.

This author never lets me down, she's one of my favorite romance authors that I love to read , each series is always a series I know I'll read over and over again

Katie Ruggle has done it again; I loved, loved, loved this book. I cannot get enough of this series and author.

Cara is part of a bounty hunting family and is sweet, adorable, and quirky, with a great attitude no matter what. Henry has skipped on his bail (he' was arrested for murder) & Cara's out to get him. Now the fun begins.

This is a fun, sexy read and I adored both of them. I would recommend reading the 1st book in the series before reading this book, but the author does give enough back story so you won't be lost if you don't.
