Cara Pax is a researcher not a bounty hunter, but with the sisters spread thin due to their mother stealing a priceless necklace and (probably) skipping bail they need all hands on deck. The trouble is Cara isn't particularly good and her first trace, Henry Kavenski, catches her breaking into his hotel room and Cara is pretty sure he didn't buy her flimsy excuses about looking for her boyfriend.

After striking out with Henry Cara decides to try a simpler capture, which turns about to be anything but, weirdly Kavenski turns up at the same time as Cara is scoping out the local dive bar, and then rescues her from an attempted murder.

Cara goes from scrape to scrape and Henry keeps rescuing her.

I really enjoyed the first book in this new series, it combined humour, mystery and romance in a way reminiscent of Janet Evanovich's early books in the Stephanie Plum series. However, I didn't get the same warm fuzzies about this book. For me it felt like most of the book was spent with Cara and Henry on the run, getting captured, escaping, on the run, rinse-and-repeat. There didn't seem to be any advancement of the arc about their mother and the missing necklace.

Here's hoping that the next book in the series goes back to more traditional bounty hunting.

Risk It All
(Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters #2)
by Katie Ruggle

Paperback, 352 pages
Expected publication: December 31st 2019 by Sourcebooks Casablanca

Goodreads synopsis:
Five bounty-hunting sisters
Deep in the heart of the Rockies
Fighting to save each other
...and the men who steal their hearts

Cara Pax never wanted to be a bounty hunter. She's happy to leave chasing criminals and tackling skips to her sisters. But if she wants her dreams of escaping the family business to come true, she's got one last job to finish... Only problem is, she doesn't think her bounty is guilty.

Henry Kavenski is a man with innocence to prove. When he realizes that Cara believes him, he'll do anything to keep her out of harm's way. Escaping criminals and dodging cops might not be the best time to fall in love, but Henry and Cara won't give up, not when there's a chance at a new life ahead--if they can survive the fall.

5 Stars

This is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series by Katie Ruggle.

I had never even heard of Katie Ruggle before I picked this book up. And I am so glad I did. The author just hit this one out of the park for me! I was captivated from page one.

I felt bad for Cara who just wanted to do research for her family’s bounty hunter business and be a kindergarten teacher. She felt like she was disappointing her family by not giving more effort to their cause. They were nearing ruin and were broke. Bringing in an important skip would put them on easy street.

Henry Kavenski was no normal skip. He had stealthy skills like no other person she had ever met but claimed he was innocent of the murder charge he skipped out on. Skips always say that, right? Cara was at odds with herself. She was developing feelings for this stranger at the same time was fearful of him. So why did he keep saving her time after time? A normal skip wouldn’t be so altruistic, right?

I was so enthralled with the character of Henry that I had to keep on reading. I had to know what was going on. What a roller coaster ride the author put these characters on. I have no clue how they didn’t freeze to death in the latter section of the book. I will definitely be picking up more books by this author very soon. I have already bought a few on my Kindle reader.

If you love romantic suspense, this one is a mega winner! Definitely check it out along with the plethora of other books this author has in her catalogue.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Katie Ruggle is a MUST READ author for me. I LOVED this story. And yes, it absolutely deserves the capital letters. The plot was smart and not easy to figure out, offering plenty of unexpected twists. The heat between Cara and Kavenski was believable, palpable, and at times breathtaking. It was such a page turner that I read it in one sitting, even ignoring my growling stomach until I turned the last page. Cara and Kavenski were well written and funny at times. I wish I had a whole series written about just the two of them. I can't wait to devour the next Katie Ruggle book!

Risk it All by Katie Ruggle is the 2nd book in her Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. This series revolves around 5 Pax sisters who run a bail recovery business, with them also being bounty hunters. The girls are in need of money, as their mother has run away and stolen not only an expensive necklace, their car and put them deep in debt. Cara Pax, our heroine, prefers to leave the bounty hunter part to her sisters, and instead help with doing the research. While two sisters are away searching for the mother, Cara takes it upon herself to find one of the skips (bail runaways) at a bar, where she ends up being rescued by the skip.

Henry Kavenski, our hero, is trying to prove his innocence and knows that Cara is one of the bounty hunters looking for him, even if she is totally inexperienced. Henry takes it upon himself to save Cara, and continue to keep an eye on her, as she foolishly gets herself into trouble looking for another dangerous skip. In a short time, Cara, begins to feel an attraction to Henry, and begins to realize that he is innocent; Henry also knows he is falling for Cara, especially since she believes his innocence. But Henry has his hands full protecting her, as Cara gets kidnapped and Henry needs to find a way to rescue her and get them both out of danger.
What follows is an exciting, non-stop action-packed adventure that was intense throughout most the book from start to finish. Even though the slow burn romance was part of the story line, it did take a back seat to the wild crazy trouble Cara kept finding herself in. I loved Cara, as she made a fun, sweet, brave heroine, and Henry was pretty good himself; they were equally terrific characters.

I really liked the story line, love the premise of this series, as well as the 5 sisters working together. Risk it All is a wonderful exciting and intense story that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Once again Katie Ruggle gives us another fabulous romance suspense story filled with action, excitement, suspense, with wonderful characters. I suggest you read this series, and start with the first book, in order to meet all the sisters.

I love Katie Ruggle’s books and this one was no different. I liked the little bit of mystery and action intertwined with the romance. I found the storyline to unfold nicely without being predictable. I definitely would suggest this book to fellow readers.

I will admit I am a huge fan of Katie Ruggle and the characters she brings alive on paper. Cara comes off as little juvenile at first but as the story evolves so does Cara. The characters finds her voice and becomes strong and willing to take care things. AS always her male leads are too good to be true but are strong willing to right the wrong.

Katie Ruggle is able to bring to life a city, people, and a community as well villains who will have readers unable to put the book or series down.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Katie Ruggle Risk It All.

Katie shows is that women can make the best bounty hunter and the second book in the series, we get Cara’s story. Cara just wants to graduate and start her passion of teaching but things don’t happen as they plan and when she decides to take on a case along, she soon discovers she may just in a little over her head. I love Cara’s character, strong and yet not afraid to take help when it’s offered. Cara early on decides that may not be who he thinks he is. Katie has written their story with lots of suspense and gives them their very own HEA.
Highly anticipating Katie’s next book in the series.

Risk It All is the second full length story in Katie Ruggle’s Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters and what a wonderful, fast moving and exciting story it is!

Cara is the sister we have all loved from the very beginning, so knowing her big heart, it’s no surprise she falls for accused murderer and bail jumper Henry Kavenski. He’s scrumptious, imposing and oh so moody, but Cara is still enamoured by this enigma of a man. When combustible attraction is front and centre; why fight it?

Ms Ruggle packs each and every story with action, suspense, and a whole lot of sexiness, and this one is definitely my favourite so far. But we still have three sisters to go, so I’m sure there is much more excitement and entertainment to come. If you haven’t started this series, then you best get to it, as it’s only going to become more addictive!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. Wow, Henry and Cara’s story is electrifying. Caras quirky personality and the things she comes up with had me laughing throughout the book. Her bubbly personality brought out Henry’s softer side and it was endearing.
I was so enthralled I could not put the hook down and read it in one day.

I've read many books by Katie and they all are amazing. This book was nothing less than perfect! I loved everything about it! The twists and turns, action and adventure and romance of course. I love the chemistry between the characters.

I'm excited to read the next in the series!! If you haven't checked out "In her sights" which is book one of the series, I encourage you to do so!

Also the Rocky Mountain K9 series is fantastic!

Having read all of Katie Ruggle's books, I believe this is my favorite. I really love Cara and Henry, separately and as a couple. They are just so good together. The Pax sisters are definitely an interesting family and I am thoroughly enjoying reading about them. I never thought I would like quiet, studious Cara's book. But, it was just so good.

There are of course the crazy antics involving criminals and chaos and Cara is in way over her head. But, her instincts are good and she can kick butt when she needs to. Henry as a love interest is perfection and adorable. They work. Loved the book, looking forward to the rest of the series.

Cara just wants to be a kindergarten teacher not a bounty hunter like her sisters. After their mother steals an expensive piece of jewelry and puts the house her daughters have paid off and jumps bail Cara feels she must help bring in bounty’s. Henry has been accused of murder and Cara decides he is the skip she is going to bring in. From the start Henry knows Cara has been following him and things just go from bad to worse at this point in Cara’s life and all she wants is to be a kindergarten teacher. Love this book thanks for the ARC copy can’t wait for the next one.

(4.5) Great Read!!! Cara is berating herself as she picks a lock to break into a hotel room. That is where we start and then we are off! Cara made me laugh, feel and care. Henry stands for hunk. Suspense, mystery, action abound in Risk it All. I was enthralled with Henry and would have loved to hear his feelings as Cara quips along. Their escapades as they run from danger make you catch your breath and the bedroom was steamy and swoon worthy. Thank you Katie Ruggle, Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Kevin kavenski is a skip that is said to have murder 2 people. Cara Pax is trying to help her sisters by going after the highest paying skip. Their mom caused a whole mess of trouble the sisters are to get out of so Cara does something totally unlike herself and goes after kevin. Even though she is the researcher of the bounty hunting business of The Pax sisters. Kevin keeps saving her which causes her to see him as not a killer. Twist and turns galore. The chemistry between kevin and cara is instantaneous but great. I really enjoyed the funny through the seriousness of the situation between cara and Kevin. Is he who he says he is ? From what cara has seen of Kevin he doesnt seem to be the murderer. I received a copy of this book for my review by netgalley.

"Risk It All" was the perfect second book to follow "In Her Sights" in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. "Risk It All" featured Cara Pax, researcher extraordinaire for the Pax sisters skip chasing business and soon-to-be kindergarten teacher, and Henry Kavenski, murder suspect and skip on-the-run. From start to finish, this story was packed full of action that had my heart racing, including fight scenes and car chases left me on the edge of my seat; and charming, flirtatious banter that left me swooning.

It was great to see more of who Cara is, not only as a Pax sister but also as an individual. She was a fun and relatable protagonist with a strong sense of loyalty, a quirky sense of humour and the determination to do what’s right. While Henry is the perfect match for Cara. He’s the strong, silent type with a sweet side that begs the question “Why is he being accused of murder?”

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next book. Based on the epilogue in Risk It All, I’m going to assume book 3 is Norah’s book and I just know it’s going to be a good one!

I really enjoyed this book. I like the Pax sisters from the first book and this one focuses on Cara. She isn't like her rough and tumble sister from the first book but more of a researcher. The sisters' interactions were still great but seemed lesser in this book than the previous book. I love how they all stick up for one another and have each other's backs. That is how family should be.

Henry was a quirky character and I enjoyed getting to know him. The author did a good job with how the characters met and came together. I liked both Cara and Henry so their story was fun to read. Of course there were plenty of adventures because Cara is in the bounty hunting business. I enjoyed the twist at the end that I hadn't figured out!

It was a 4/5 for me. I can't wait to see what happens next with these sisters.

Cara is the sweet sister who doesn’t really get physically involved in the family Bounty business but instead helps by doing background checks in between studying to be a teacher. Still after the mess their mother left them in Cara is determined to do more to help and decides to track down a dangerous man who hasn’t returned for his bail hearing but getting caught by him trying to get into his motel room is just the start of Cara’s problems !
Ok I’m going to be blunt and say I wasn’t impressed initially by Cara as she came across as juvenile and pretty much acted like a teenager with a really pathetic crush ! However yes there’s a but coming I soon realised that as part of a large family she was perhaps just a little more quirky than I expected considering she’s about to become an educator and when things go downhill fast she really impressed me . Now naturally we have a hero and his name is Henry and he is gruff, pretty much the strong silent type and actually also adorable and I want a Henry of my own ! The action was non stop and so intense that I almost wanted to read from behind my hands which should let you know just how much hot or not water this couple get into ! Fabulous characters and simply a very entertaining story so an easy five from me.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I received this ARC for an honest review. This story is about Cara and Henry. Cara and her sisters are bounty hunters. Normally, Cara just does the research part not the field work when she is not at college for her teaching degree. After her mother skipped bail and used the house as collateral, Cara decides to help by going out in the field. She decides to do this in secret. Her first skip is an accused killer, Henry Kavenski. She tracked down his motel room and she breaks in to plant a tracker, but Henry catches her in the act of breaking in. So she played it off as if Henry was in the wrong room. Cara decides to try for a different skip, Geoffrey Abbott for tax evasion. When she goes to a seedy bar to watch for Abbott, Henry is also there. The bar is full except by Henry, so she decides to sit my him. Henry asked Cara why she is there and why she following him. She said that she is not following Henry but following Abbott. Henry said to leave Abbott alone. When she followed Abbott out of the bar, someone tried to run Cara over in the parking lot. Luckily, Henry was there to save Cara. There is so much more to this story. I highly suggest to give Katie Ruggle a try. I really enjoyed this book. It kept my attention and made me want more.

I adored this book! It was fast paced and exciting with a steamy side of romance. Cara and Henry were so cute together. I love a smart, logical heroine and a grumpy but sweet hero. Definitely recommended!

Action, action and more action. This book has it all suspense, thrills, feisty heroines and a very hunky hero. Can’t wait for the next one in this series.
