A fun, contemporary astrology guide that's not afraid of adding a bit of snark to the mix. As with any astrology guide, the descriptions of signs are accurate-ish; I will never be the Leo stereotype these guides expect me to be, but I have my Leo moments for sure. I enjoyed the introduction quite a bit- I actually feel like I have some understanding of things like elements and essences now, and how moon and rising signs affect a person. Each sign gets the usual rundown, basic info, how they are as a friend and a lover, but there's also more 21st century information on style, texting, imagination (the most fun part of each sign's chapter- it covers things like if they were a city/ kind of weather/ punctuation mark/ flower/ etc, what would they be), a playlist, and a poem. To be honest, the poetry didn't really float my boat, but YMMV. A worthy addition to any astrology buff's book collection.

What a strange and interesting little book. The vibe is very '60s/'70s, but there are moments of humor and real insight, for anyone wanting to learn more about their own zodiac signs or those of anyone they're dating or related to. Each sign gets its own chapter, with sections on style, friendship, texting, love, and even an original poem and a playlist of songs. I am sure this will be very popular in our public library collection (by which I mean it'll be stolen almost immediately).

So I'd never heard of the Astro Poets when I first got this book, but they have definitely made a fan out of me. To be clear, I don't particular believe in astrology, but I have been somewhat obsessed with it since I was a kid. Doesn't make sense, I know, but still. I had the Taurus t-shirts, jewelry, I checked out books for the library, the works. This book and the authors' interpretations were wonderfully hilarious. I think I'm going to buy a copy for myself, just in case I ever need it.

Thanks to Flatiron Books and NetGalley for the eARC.

I thought this was a super fun book. It was a really casual, modern and interesting look at the horoscope signs with lots of emphasis on the everyday behaviors of each sign instead of the more textbook characteristics you usually get. For instance, they provide examples of what texting would be like between two signs. And some of them were laugh out loud funny. In fact I resembled a couple of them :)

Thank you NetGalley and Flatiron Books for this advanced readers copy.

This book reminds me of sun signs by Linda Goodman. I remember taking out sun signs from the library way back in the early 90s and I thought it was a great useful tool whenever I had met a new person or was getting close to someone. This book is the same way. If you want to learn more About someone without them having to tell you you can just pick up your copy of Astro poets and learn a little the inner workings of someone. I love the way this book breaks down each sign. There is an endless amount of learning within this book. I can’t imagine anyone except a skeptic not finding this book useful.

I'm a big fan of Astro Poets on Twitter, so I had high expectations for this book. And it exceeded them! This is such an engaging, approachable, and modern guide to astrology. Dimitrov and Lasky's voices are so strong and delightfully entertaining. Reading their overviews of the signs is like talking about the stars over coffee with your coolest hippie friend. The book starts with a general guide to astrology and their approach, then lays out a chapter on each sign, including compatibility, style, texting habits, a suggested playlist, and more. If you think astrology is garbage, then sure, you're not going to enjoy this book. But if you're open to learning more about the signs and how they relate to each other, I highly recommend Astro Poets as the place to start.

With most astrology books, I skip straight ahead to Capricorn (my sun sign), maybe read Leo (my rising sign) and Sagittarius (my moon sign) and then shut the book and never look at it again. With Astro Poets that is 100% not the case. Each and every entry is written like a fascinating social, pop cultural, personal and in-depth look at each of the signs, the way they relate to the world, personal (usually funny or heartwarming or fascinating) anecdotes from Dimitrov and Lasky made me want to read each and every sign and learn more about them. Each chapter and sign also comes with playlists, portions on style, and celebrity, along with (maybe my favorite parts of the whole book) and sort of "mood board" entry that compares each sign to a city, and lists out what can only be described as their ~vibe~ I didn't super relate to a lot of the chapter on my sign (it's sort of a running joke among Caps on Twitter that Astro Poets hates us and I felt that a lil" bit here, not going to lie haha) but I immensely enjoyed sifting through this book nonetheless. The most fun and unique astrology book on the shelves right now.

Astro Poets on Twitter is my go-to for all my astrological needs. I'm Sagittarius AF as Alex speaks to my archer on a fundamental level.

This will be a must-have for library zodiac collections. Each section is very thoughtfully laid out with familiar elements but the Astro Poet elan for language and description.

I received a free copy in exchange for a fair review.
