If ever a book was written with the sole purpose of becoming a Hallmark Christmas movie, Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is it. Set in a small mountain town that is populated with good hearted and helpful people, this book is bubbling with good cheer and Christmas spirit.
Liz Westmoreland has always had a dream of leaving her high powered career behind for the simpler life of being an inn keeper. Fueled by happy memories of visits to her grandparents’ inn, Angels Rest, she knows the time is right when she discovers that very property up for auction. She immediately purchases it sight unseen and “as is” only to be dismayed by the amount of renovation it will require. Enter Matt Hardy, an architect, contractor and former town resident home for an extended visit. Matt, who has harbored a secret crush on Liz since their early teen years, immediately signs on to oversee the return of Angels Rest to its former glory. Both Liz and Matt are supported by the heart-of-gold town’s people who are thrilled to see the resurrection of the once thriving but now dilapidated inn. What ensues is predictable but enjoyable, sure to bring warm feelings and holiday cheer to the reader and is perfect for anyone who enjoys a Hallmark Christmas movie.

This book is destined to be a Hallmark Christmas Classic, I can see it now! I love it because it’s set in NC - which is where I live, and Boone is mentioned a time or two - as well as Appalachian State - which is my Alma matter! But, most importantly, the story involves such sweet and wholesome characters that are out to make the world a better place for themselves and the people of Antler Creek.
I hope you enjoy this sweet Christmas story about Angels and memories from the past!

Matt remembers Liz from when they were children. She used to visit her grandparents in Antler Creek, North Carolina. He had a crush on her then and truth be told, he carried that crush up to the present time.
Liz’s favorite childhood memories are of the time she spent in Antler Creek with Pop and Gram. She could not believe it when her grandparents sold their lodge, Angels Rest, and decided to travel by camper to see the world. She thought the best place in the world was exactly where they were living!
Since then, she always dreamed of owning and running an inn like her grandparents and when she stumbled across an ad for the lodge her grandparents used to own, the day before the auction, she put in a bid, sight unseen, the next morning!
Well, that makes for an interesting story , right? Making a huge decision based totally on your heart can turn out wonderful or a disaster. This being a romance story, we are assured that Liz’s dream will not be a nightmare. In Matt, she finds the best person to help her repair the lodge and also win her heart in the process.
I loved this book. Nancy Naigle writes heartwarming stories that enfold me and I never want them to end. She creates wonderful characters of all ages that I will not soon forget. This story also has an adorable huge puppy, Elvis, that is 6 months old and weighs over 90 pounds. He definitely brought some smiles while I was reading. The author’s scenery description puts me in the snowy town of Antler Creek and I want to wrap myself in a warm blanket from the chill, even though I am reading this book in July!
Several of Nancy Naigle’s books were made into Hallmark movies and I hope this story will also come to life on the screen.
I want to thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for giving me the pleasure of reading this ARC. This review is my own opinion, not influence by receiving the ARC. I love to read Nancy Naigle’s Christmas stories any time of the year and eagerly wait for the next one.

I received an advance reader copy of this book through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. If this book isn’t already scheduled to be a Hallmark movie, it should be optioned immediately. Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle was an enchanting story. It was a clean romance. I loved the angel figurines that kept appearing. Although I really enjoyed finding out how the figurines really appeared. I would highly recommend this book. Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to preview this book.

Christmas Angels is a wonderful book that makes you want to live with these endearing characters! Nancy Naigle has brought this book to life and I am sincerely hoping we will get many more books in the future!

This is one of the sweetest books I've ever read. Nancy Naigle captures the perfect mix of delightfully entertaining characters and charming story line with this novel.
As a renowned project manager, Liz Westmoreland is known for finishing projects on time and under budget but when she suddenly finds herself the proud new owner of her grandparents old Inn in Antler Creek, sight unseen, she may be in for more than she can handle. She loved spending summers there, and although she hasn't been back in fifteen years she has always dreamed of some day owning the place that held such incredible childhood memories. Hiring handsome, kind-hearted local Matt Hardy is her first order of business, but Liz has some hard and fast rules and one is to never ever date a co-worker or employee.
Matt Hardy has built a home and settled in Antler Creek and loves the laid-back, easy going, and friendly small town life. He isn't much into city women after his experience with his ex yet all of him seems to be on high alert after seeing the pretty new lady in town.
This story takes us on a wonderful journey as Liz assumes ownership of her grandparents inn and the drama that takes place over it's current condition. Will Liz be able to get the Inn up and running on budget, and how will she deal with her feelings for her contractor?

A true Christmas story. The spirit of all that it should be runs through this beautiful and romantic tale. A feeling of community and goodness threads together the desire to recapture the feeling of her childhood spent with grandparents in a special place.
Wonderful, spiritual and entertaining.

Some of Liz’s fondest memories are of her parents mountain lodge, Angel’s Rest. In fact, she always dreamed of taking over the lodge one day. Unfortunately, her grandparents sold the lodge after her grandfather was diagnose with cancer. It fell into disrepair under new ownership. Liz discovered that the property was going to be auctioned off and purchased it.
Matt is an architect temporarily residing on the property adjacent to Angel’s Rest. He has fond memories of Liz’s grandparents and of Liz herself as a child; although, Liz doesn’t remember Matt. They become reacquainted as Matt helps Liz navigate the many repairs needed in order to reopen the lodge.
Despite failed relationships, they develop a rapport and friendship as they get to know each other better. Can two independent thirty-somethings who have lived through bad relationships open themselves up to a new relationship?
Nancy Naigle once again brings us a sweet holiday story about two people who take a chance on love!

A sweet Christmas story. Great for Christmas in July or a holiday feel good. An easy read and a happy ending.

I adore Christmas romance novels and Christmas Angels did not disappoint. Liz and Matt’s story is about coming home and reviving Christmas childhood traditions to carry on into the future. The main characters and secondary characters alike are relatable and well rounded with a great story which really pulled me in. I didn’t want to leave Antler Creek. Hope there’s more to come!

This was a really sweet Christmas story, perfect for a hallmark movie. Great characters, beautiful scenery and an interesting plot. Really enjoyed it

Cozy warm up to get into the holiday spirit. This book has it all. Finding home & where you belong. Sticking to your dream even though there wasn't much support from friends & family in the beginning. Gaining a sense of community support. A little mystery as treasures are slowly revealed, and romance.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a Christmas tale you won't want to miss. Ms. Naigle has once again delivered a well-written book populated with a stellar cast of characters. Liz is great at her job, but her dream has always been to own a B&B like the one her grandparents owned. When she finds her grandparents B&B on an auction website, she jumps at the chance to own it. Matt lives on the property next to Angel Rest B&B and remembers Liz from when she would visit her grandparents. Liz and Matt's story is packed with drama, humor and is a perfect holiday read. This book is appropriate for any age, a clean read. I enjoyed reading Christmas Angels and look forward to my next book by Nancy Naigle. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book mentions "Hallmark Movies" five times, and reads just like one. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you were expecting, or hoping for that.
The book was well written, but at points was repetitive, very much so, and got a bit slow. Ironically, the end was rushed.
Overall, this was just an okay read for me.

This is a very heartwarming story. It is about Liz a successful business woman with a dream of opening a inn in a small town where her grandparents previously had an inn. Her memories of Christmases and happy memories of family have her yearning to find a place. When our Grandparents place goes on the market Liz decides to buy it sight unseen. Liz comes to the small town and is heartbroken with all the work required to open the inn. Matt a neighbor and architect steps in to help Liz. Will Liz be able to get this inn open? Can she help bring back the small town? Will Liz fall in love with the town? Will Matt and Liz find love together?

3.5 stars
Liz purchased her grandparents old lodge, sight unseen, and wasn’t fully prepared for the state of disrepair it was in. With the help of locals and Matt, an architect and local favorite who’s harboring a childhood crush on Liz herself, Liz starts working on restoring the lodge to its former glory. Seeking reassurance that she’s on the right track, Liz is constantly looking for signs to back up her hasty purchase. All is going well until an injury sidelines her and then she’s got plenty of time to sit, stew, and question if she’s bitten off more then she can chew.
I thought this was a really sweet, yet very slow read. I loved the locals, Maizey, Flossie, and Matt’s workers were a riot! Enter good gossip to the mix and I found myself laughing at the information highway! I also liked the concept of restoring the lodge and uplifting not just Liz, but the town itself too. However, I didn’t care for the romantic aspect. Matt’s interest in Liz was cute and in his defense, he worked hard to get her to notice him romantically, and I truly believe he had feelings for her. But Liz was a hard sell. She was wasn’t just wrapped up in the lodge. She lived and breathed it to the umpteenth degree. And she was completely oblivious to Matt. Even when the entire town clued her in, she still doubted his feelings. So when her about-face happened, it was hard pill for me to swallow. What kind of guy gives cheap labor, cooks great meals, checks on you in a snow storm, is available to you at all hours of the day and lets you keep his number on speed dial, and drags the whole town into a huge plan to cheer you up if he isn’t interested in dating? There’s being neighborly...and then there’s being neighborly!
I do have to mention Elvis, Matt’s dog, because he was my favorite character. I thought he had some of the cutest moments! This adorably, lazy puppy had a knack for presenting himself at just the right time and was appropriately named with his smirky smile and hip wiggling!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Liz has the best memories of her grandparents' inn in the town of Angel's Creek and was heartbroken when it was sold. But while looking at inns on the internet she sees her Inn. For sale!
Thanks to a great job and tidy little savings, she not only puts in a bid, but she is also the winning bid! Alas, the place was gutted to put in an art gallery and now the place looks nothing like what she remembers.
Matt is just hoping the new owner isn't planning on the same thing. And when he sees her, his childhood friend and crush, he knows he is going to help her re-build the inn to its former self.
What a great story with all of the feels. Hope, Loss, Joy, Love. Matt and Liz are great characters and I hope we see more of them.
A perfect holiday read!

'Christmas Angels' by Nancy Naigle was just perfect for me. It reminded me of the goodness in the world, and that love of family, friends and even strangers is still the most important thing there is to cultivate in our lives. The setting and the town was delightful. The growth and progress of the characters was wonderful to share in. I enthusiastically recommend this book and would give it 10 stars if I could.
