I found this to be a very heartwarming book with a sweet romance. In this book, Liz Westmoreland suddenly has the opportunity to buy the inn that was once her grandparents' Bed and Breakfast. It has been her dream to own it one day, and she sets out to start her new life there with joy in her heart. Once she arrives, she finds that the inn has pretty much been gutted, and is far from ready to operate as a Bed and Breakfast.

Liz struggles with feeling like she might be doing the wrong thing in trying to make her dream of operating the B&B come true. She reconnects with people who were her grandparents friend and neighbors, and even some she knew when she visited as a child. Matt Hardy is one of those, and he offers to help her with the restoration of the inn. Liz has to decide if she should risk it all to stay and try to fulfill her dream, or go back to her old, more secure lifestyle.

My favorite part of this book was the interaction between Liz and Matt, both of whom i thought were great characters. I also really loved the setting of this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy.

Christmas Angels is the story of Liz Westmoreland and Matt Hardy, two people looking for a chance to realize their dreams. When fate brings them together in Antlers Creek they’ll find out if dreams really do come true. Liz loved the area when her grandparents lived there and ran an inn. She would love to do the same and, at the same time, help to revitalize the community. Matt has the same intentions and will use his contractor and construction skills to make things happen. The two will have to dodge occasional bumps in the road but they also have a lot of fun getting to know each other along the way.

This is a Christmas story with the theme of sharing one’s gifts being the best gift of all. Perfect for fans of Hallmark movies and all things Christmas.

I love Christmas romances but I just couldn't warm up to this one. I think it was because the heroine is not very likeable.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

3.5 Stars
The premise of this book had me eager to read it. Even if it isn't Christmas yet, I enjoy the feeling that I usually come away with in these holiday romances. Unfortunately, this one felt a bit boring. For me, the book as well as the pace did not pick up until the last chapters. The author's writing was easy to read but the pace of the story dragged. Thankfully those last chapters picked up and I lost my frustration.

Let me explain. The story itself had a lot of potential to be a five-star read for me. However, no matter how open-minded I was, I did not like Liz, the heroine. Matt on the other hand was the hero of my dreams. And I do mean that literally. I love strong, intelligent, handsome heroes who are also a selfless and caring gentleman; who will always put helping a neighbor before his own needs. That was Matt Hardy. He is a hero I won't forget for a very long time, if ever.

Liz grew up visiting her grandparents at Angel's Rest. A scenic inn in the mountains. All of her favorite childhood memories were made at Angel's Rest. I won't go into details but I'll tell you her grandparents no longer owned the inn. So, when Liz comes across an online auction and sees that very same inn up for sale, she jumps at it. Blindly. Liz did not have enough time to see the property before bidding and buying but she didn't care. She was compelled by her love for the place to own it and return it to what it once was. But when she sees the inn for the first time in well over a decade, Liz is heartbroken.

It's a total disaster. But with the help of Matt and the town, Liz works to return the inn to its former glory. I don't want to give a lot of details away about the townsfolk because in my opinion, they were the heart of the story, along with Matt, of course. Matt had a crush on Liz when they were kids. Not only did she not know that, she did not remember Matt which I though was unbelievable. She claimed to have spent so much time at the inn she should have remembered him; Matt lived there and the town was small; everyone knew each other. In addition to Liz not remembering Matt, throughout most of the book she showed no interest in Matt other than friendship. And that was what frustrated me the most. These are just my thoughts, but I felt no chemistry between Matt and Liz.

Now, after all that, after turning the last page, I was happier. Liz and Matt do have their happily-ever-after. So, while I was disappointed with certain aspects of this book (Liz), there were more aspects that saved it for me, especially the small-town feel. That and the townsfolk were perfect. That said, I do want to read more from this author because while I didn't absolutely love this book, there was that potential if only the heroine was more likable. As I said earlier in my review, the author is talented with weaving her words into a heartwarming story. I'd like to give her another try.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

This is a wonderful, heartwarming story that will definitely get you in the spirit of Christmas! I loved all of the characters right down to Elvis. Matt was my favorite though, and Liz took way to long to realize what was going on. This would make a great Hallmark movie.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Great story and a sweet romance.

What would you do if you happened upon a family home on the auction block? What would you do if that was your dream home with memories of happy times?

If you were like the main character who had saved for years upon years, you just hop in and buy it and figure it out later. I know that is what I would do.

This story radiates everything that we remember in our happy times with family. Special times with Grandparents and all of those fabulous heartwarming memories that can still make an impact years later.

With amazing descriptions of the lodge type homes and Christmas exploding everywhere, this story made me crave my home. Add in a fabulous guy who crushed hard on you when you were kids, and you have a story that is calling your name.

I loved Matt. OMG he was a fabulous character and literally would give this gal anything. He busted tail making her dreams come true.

I enjoyed Liz’s character too, but sometimes she came across a bit snarky and I would wonder why. Never did put my finger on it.

The author crafted and recreated an American Dream with this Christmas story. It made me so happy to read it! You have to put it on your list!

This is a “sweet and clean” book so if cursing and sexual situations bother you, there is nothing to worry about here. Ms. Naigle is one of the best at weaving the kind of wonderful stories that don't need to have sex on the page because the story is more than enough to hold a reader's attention.

Because this book reads like a Hallmark movie (that's a compliment!) there isn't a huge amount of angst or strife, but that is exactly what makes makes this the kind of book that I want to read at Christmas time. This story is loaded with warm-fuzzies from start to finish. I loved reading about Christmas in Antler Creek and the process of bringing Angels Rest to life. The town of Antler Creek is exactly the kind of small town that I would love to live in one day with its amazing Christmas traditions, and its wonderful people who go above and beyond for one of their own. Of course, Liz and Matt were great characters. They were the kind of characters that you can't help but root for from the start, and I loved that even though they were attracted to each other from the start, they took their time to get to know each other – they didn't just go from “hello” to “I love you” overnight.

If you enjoy a really well-written, sweet Christmas story with a great little town and wonderful storytelling, this book is a must-read.

***SLIGHT SPOILERS IN THIS PARAGRAPH*** I also had to laugh a little at the visitors who found their way to Antler Creek right before Christmas. I would have been disappointed if they'd gone by any other names. Well played, Ms. Naigle!

I requested to read and review Christmas Angels. This story was written by author Nancy Naigle. This isn't the first book I have read by author Nancy Naigle and the Christmas Angels doesn't disappoint!! This is great heart warming story. This book can be read anytime of the year dispite the title. I love the encouragement that Peggy gives Liz in this story line. And loves Liz determination to go after what she wants despite how some so called of her friends trying to talk her out of it. The town of Antler Creek is a welcoming town to tourist, and the newcomers. And to until Matt Hardy is introduce in this story. You won't want to put this book down. A definite must read for any type of reader.

I always love how quickly I am drawn into Naigle's stories. I love her descriptive writing style. I loved that Liz was able to buy her grandparents home. This story was a feel good story for me, it reminded me of my Mama who loved angels. The magic of this story just brought tears to my eyes. The timing of the relationship with Liz and Matt is realistic. It was slow, and sweet. The characters all felt like people you would love to meet I just cant say enough about how much I really loved this book. A perfect Christmas read.

Christmas Angels: A Novel
Nancy Naigle
October 15, 2019

Antler’s Creek is a mountain town. The people are friendly, help each other without expectations and live a life without the worry of what might have been. Liz Westmoreland spent summers there with her grandparents at their bed and breakfast. Her grandma was a terrific lady and a cook whose recipes were known throughout the town. Liz loved her grandmother but spent most of her vacation time with her grandfather. He taught her many things in their years together but his philosophic words stayed with her. After college, she worked in Charlotte, North Carolina. For years she had a job launching store openings for chains. She had the technique to bring them from start to successful business. Although she had a home in Charlotte, she spent time traveling to complete her projects.
Her grandparents sold the bed and breakfast hoping to relax in retirement. Liz had always thought they would continue then leave it to her, a regret she never got over. Her dream was to continue to save her dollars and find a place to buy and convert to a bed and breakfast similar to her grandparents. Her friends always maintained it was just the thoughts of a well spent childhood, that she would never take the leap and leave the successful world she lived in. If she couldn’t sleep she would spend time searching the internet for such a place. There were some interesting spots but nothing quite the same.
Ms. Naigle’s story continues on and frankly I thought it would be one of wishing and hoping to finally settle for romance and home in her space in North Carolina. Boy oh was I wrong. This adventure just took off at this point and I was completely absorbed into the welcoming world of Antler’s Creek. Yes, this is a Christmas story, a good one to read but I became so involved in Liz’s story. Her memories, the present and the future’s possibilities made reading this book so heartwarming. I enjoyed the holiday vision, feeling sorrowful that the end was approaching. It will be a fun re-read when November arrives along with the snow and seasonal promos.
Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is due for publication on October 15, 2019 by St. Martin’s Griffin. I would like to thank them for the opportunity to read the uncorrected proof. The title Christmas Angels gives true meaning to the characters to Nancy Naigle’s wonderful story. This is a definite ‘can’t miss this one’ for fall reading.

A heartwarming story from Nancy Naigle. The main character Liz is a firecely strong independent women who had a string connection to her grandparents inn. She has the need to do things on her own. As you read the novel you will experience the love of the town and it's residents for Liz and the inn. The love interest Matt is her Christmas Angel. A beautiful heart warming novel of love and Christmas. 5 stars. I highly recommend Christmas Angels, the perfect time to read this novel, would be curled up in front of a fireplace.
