Thanks to St. Martin's Press for the free review copy. All opinions are my own.

I am definitely not the intended audience for this book, but I do occasionally enjoy a Christmas story, so I decided to read this ARC. Unfortunately, I found there to be a lack of development with the characters. Some friendships felt forced. There were plot points that were mentioned a time or two but not mentioned enough to be important, so I wondered why add it at all.

This book is perfect for those that enjoy the holiday romance stories. Hallmark movie lovers will enjoy this one.

Thank you in advance to JustRead tours and the author for a review copy. A positive review was not required and all words are my own.

If you’re not into the “Hallmark”-esque movies, then this isn’t a book for you. It is a clean read, clean romance which means there is not much more interaction beyond kissing, holding hands – those things. There are some “Christian” elements, but the author isn’t preachy in her tone.

This is my first introduction to author Nancy Naigle. I LOVE a good, clean romance. I LOVE Christmas stories even more. And, when this was released in October, I HAD to have it. I could tell by the cover and the description this was a book I was going to LOVE!

The premise of this book is so cute!

“Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents’ inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there, she finds the property in significant disrepair.

When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn't another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories.

While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance—that restoring the inn is what she's meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt—and the residents of Antler Creek—be able to show Liz that she's found a home? And possibly true love as well?”

The cover is darling! Almost instantly I want to run off with it and curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and spend every moment I had with this book.

This book definitely has a “Hallmark" movie vibe about it – in a good way, complete with a small town with the cutest name – Antler Creek. You can almost close your eyes and hear/see it as it moves along. And, even one of the characters makes a “Hallmark Movie” remark in it. There are references to Hallmark in it. But, that didn’t detract from this cozy read.

I love how positive Liz was, despite the warnings from her co-worker about buying it sight unseen, and even after seeing the disrepair – still held out hope. There are some sad moments after the “accident”, but she had friends who wouldn’t let her give up.

It is a true “you know who your friends are when you face adversity” scenario with an honest “small town” scenario.

Not every character is perfect; then again, no real person is either. The characters are written like some people I’ve known and been around. Obviously the good/bad equal each other out.

The characters are real for the geographic area, and I could almost picture the town in my mind with the writer’s vivid writing style.

This is a simple little "feel-good" read for the holidays.

Color me a sucker for Hallmark holiday movies and Nancy Naigle's book, Christmas Angels was like reading the script for just that! It ticked every box for me: Restoration of an Inn - check. Romantic man to help with the restoration - check. Small town pitching in - check. Christmas! Check Check Check.  I loved it all!

Liz has very fond memories of her grandparent's inn and always wanted to own an one just like it. Each night she pores over real estate listings hoping to find something just like theirs when one night she sees an ad for what appears to be their very inn for auction. Putting in a bid, sight unseen, Liz wins the inn. However, upon arrival, she discovers she should have seen the place before bidding. Not to have her enthusiasm dampened, she finds Matt to help her rebuild/restore the inn to its former glory. What she doesn't realize is that Matt also put in a bid on the inn. Will these two rivals find harmony and love at the inn? Will the small town people welcome her into their fold? Welllll, it IS a Christmas love story but it is also one that you will enjoy reading from start to finish, knowing there is a happy ending

Christmas Angels is the picture perfect Christmas romance. As not only was it super sweet but it had lots of welcoming characters who all pulled together beautifully to help Liz achieve her dream. If you're looking for a heartwarming festive tale to read in the build up to the big day, then you should definitely check this story out.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a most delightful Christmas contemporary novel that will get you in the festive mood.
The novel is about following your heart’s desire and new beginnings. When God places a dream in your heart, you need to grasp it with both hands and hold on. When others come on board with your dream, amazing things can happen.
Nancy Naigle has perfectly captured small town living. Needs are met, warm welcomes await, hearts are opened to stranger, family and friends. A warm atmosphere envelopes the reader as we catch the Christmas mood.
Nancy Naigle’s words evoke all that Christmas should be – snow, lights, festivities, family and friends. She lights the fire of the perfect Christmas within hearts.
Characters are recovering from bereavement. We all have that safe, go-to place in our mind where our memories live on. As an old inn is renovated and brought back to life, so a character is revived and fulfilled.
Christmas Angels was such a delightful, charming read. It was my first book by Nancy Naigle but I shall be reading more.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Christmas Angels was a perfectly sweet holiday romance about a career driven woman who purchases the mountain resort her grandparents used to own, sight unseen. Naturally, everything that can go wrong does. But one thing that goes right is meeting her hunky contractor. She saves Christmas for the town, falls in love, and even finds room in her in for a young pregnant couple who are down on their luck.

Maybe it's just me but I prefer my romance with a little more edge. If you don't, then this one will be perfectly sweet for the holidays.

Christmas Angels is a sweet, heartwarming, feel-good romance: a nice, light Christmassy read that reminds me of the best aspects of a Hallmark movie.

The book starts off a little slowly, and didn’t really hold my attention until about a quarter to a third of the way in, when the main characters finally start actually working on the lodge renovation. The heroine and hero are both likable, possibly a little too much so. Matt appears to have no flaws and even his sister thinks he is quite a catch (not in a squicky way! She’s encouraging Liz to take a chance on Matt.) Liz has a few flaws, but they aren’t deep. Despite the characters’ near-perfection, I enjoyed their romance and was rooting for them to get together.

The town of Antler Creek is idyllic (again, perhaps a little too idyllic, but in a very comforting way.) Everyone there seems delighted that Liz has bought her grandparents’ old lodge and supports her plans to reopen it. The secondary characters in the town are all down-to-earth, kind, cheerful people; I wouldn’t mind living in town like that! I especially liked the cafe owner/waitress, Maizey, and the young mother who invites Liz to help make Christmas cookies.

The plot really centers around Liz and Matt’s efforts to renovate the lodge, and whether Liz will stay and realize her dreams, or give up and go back to her old job. Other than a physical injury, there are no real setbacks and very little tension, which is quickly resolved… all of which is just fine in a holiday novel. The only secondary character I didn’t like is Liz’s friend Dan, who is self-centered and unsupportive. I couldn’t see why she put up with him, let alone liked him.

I mentioned that the romance is sweet, and I mean that in both senses of the word. Liz and Matt only get as far as kissing. Also, they are both Christian, of some unspecified denomination; they attend church, and Liz prays on page at least once. However, if you prefer your fiction on the secular side, don’t worry; the faith aspects are neither preachy nor overly emphasized. It’s simply one facet of each of the main characters, and doesn’t dominate the novel as a whole, or the characters’ thoughts. Personally, I would have been happy with a little more of it, as I suspect their faith motivates both Liz and Matt -- if not regarding the lodge, then in their dealings with the people around them.

I would definitely recommend Christmas Angels when you’re in the mood for a light, charming, and comforting holiday romance.

3.5 Stars

Such a beautiful Christmas love story. I am blown away by the beauty described and the magic that was sprinkled throughout. I’m not talking about paranormal magic but the magic that occurs during Christmas when people are kind and work together to make the spirit of Christmas come alive.

Christmas Angels is a clean read with no sex and very few curse words. I would have no problems letting a teen girl read this Christmas romance.

If you loved Nancy Naigle’s Christmas in Evergreen books then you need to hurry and snatch Christmas Angels up for this Christmas season. You won’t be sorry. Your heart will thank you.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, St. Martin’s Press, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

I don't usually read books that are pure and wholesome, as I generally like a little heat in my stories. I'm glad I made an exception because this story is so sweet and absolutely perfect for Christmas. Liz and Matt were written so well, they could've easily been real people in my life. I loved the plot. I loved the interaction between the characters. Simply put, I loved this book. I'll definitely read more from Nancy Naigle!

Liz Westmoreland has fond memories of visiting her grandparents in the mountains at their inn. When they sold the inn, Angels Rest, all those years ago she was devastated and always dreamed of reopening it. When the opportunity for her to purchase the property comes up, Liz can't resist. With the help of Matt Hardy, a local man and contractor, will Liz be able to restore the inn to it's former glory and maybe find love along the way.

This story was absolutely adorable, and one of the better Christmas romances I have encountered. Liz and Matt were great characters who I cared so much about by the end of the story.

The conflict at the end was a little lackluster but the resolution happened fast so I didn't mind.

Overall, this is a great novel to get your sweet Christmas romance fix.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a heartwarming and inspirational Christmas story about Liz Westmoreland. She dreamed of continuing to run her grandparent’s inn but it was sold before she had the chance. Years later, she sees it is for sale again and buys it. Working with realtors, knowledge that it was being sold happened to fall into her hands. She immediately goes to see it and is disappointed at the condition as it has been gutted. She buys it and vows to restore it to it’s previous grandeur with handsome handyman, Matt Hardy. This book was well-plotted. The author’s view of the mountains, the friendliness of the town and the peace of nature was great. I enjoyed this book very much and am glad I read it at the Christmas Holidays. I loved Grandpa’s saying, “Everything happens to the timing of our life and no two lives are the same.”

Liz Westmoreland has many fond memories of spending time with her grandparents at Angels Rest in the Appalachian Mountains, but the resort closed, and the new owners converted the inn into an art gallery. Now, years later, she is able to bid on the property as it goes on auction and purchase it. The property is going to need a lot of work and she feels lucky to meet Matt, who also has a great interest in restoring Angels Rest to a beautiful resort. Liz has an opportunity to change her lifestyle and career by moving to Antler Creek and her social life also improves dramatically.

This story reads like a Hallmark movie and that is a great compliment! Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC; all opinions are my own.

Definitely a fun and sweet holiday read. When Liz spots a real estate auction for her beloved Angel’s Rest she views it as a sign. When she first visits the property she is disheartened to see the physical changes the previous owner did to the property.

Determined to fulfill her dream she begins to sketch ideas and make plans for restoration. Enter the handsome Contrractor Matt who remembers Liz from their childhood. Matt is determined to help Liz recreate the special place from their childhood. Will Matt win Liz’s heart? Can they do something to help the town?

I love Nancy Naigle’s books, and I think this one may be my new favorite. Angels Rest would be a wonderful place in which to celebrate the Christmas season. My favorite part of the book is the way the townspeople worked together to help Liz restore her family’s lodge. Liz’s story was heart touching, and Matt was the perfect hero to make everything come together. This book highlights the theme of loving and helping those in need. This sweet, clean story with a touch of faith is the perfect book to read during the busy holiday season. One of the best Christmas themed books I’ve read this year. This one could easily be a Hallmark movie.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

I loved this books. It was very cute, sweet and heartwarming. So perfect for the holidays. The small town setting was so great. I love books with small communities “where everybody knows your name”. Perfect holiday read.

Christmas Angels is a tale of taking chances in life and especially love. Liz always cherished her Christmas memories of being with her grandparent’s inn over the holidays and her wish is to start an inn of her own so when her family’s old inn goes for sale she takes the chance and sees it as fate coming in and making things happen.

Matt is just trying to put his life together after a bad breakup. He is a simple man who wants simple things and doesn’t think love is on the horizon, that is until he sees Liz and he can’t believe his eyes that this is the same girl from his childhood, his old crush.

I really enjoyed this tale of second chances. I liked how these two were brought together to help each other go through this rough patch in their lives. I liked the characters and how they all came together to help each other in times of need. I found this story cute, cozy and inspiring just what I want in a Christmas read.

This book had all the right pieces of a lovely Christmas read. A sweet romance that started with one of the characters as a childhood crush (swoon), a run-down inn that’s purchased to hopefully be restored back to its festive self in time for Christmas, and a caring small town community that comes alongside it all. It had cheesy Hallmark movie written ALL over it.

Here’s my verdict: This was one of those instances where I didn’t totally love Liz (the main character) which was a total bummer, but instead Matt (her love interest) and all of the sweet residents of Angel Falls... I thought they added so much to the story and really carried it along. It was a cute story, don’t get me wrong, and I did like it. It just lacked some of that memorable charm and “magic” that I look for and love in my holiday reads. I could have taken or left this one. If you are looking for a recommendation-worthy holiday title by this author from me though, I did read her book Dear Santa last year and loved it!

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the free copy.

This book touched me in so many ways that I don't know where to begin, except to say that this book is a keeper and needs to be read over and over again. I smiled and cried and cheered and remembered a lot of my own childhood Christmas and how special different events were. Antler Creek and especially Angel's Rest have always held a very special place in Liz's heart and when she gets the chance to purchase Angel's Rest back, as it had once belonged to her grandparents, she jumps on it and buys it from an online auction. Unfortunately once she arrives, she discovers that previous owners basically destroyed the interior of the lodge. Fortunately she is put in touch with Matt who has fond memories of his own of Angel's Rest and Liz and Liz's grandparents. Matt and the residents of Antler's creek come together to help Liz make her dream come true of reopening the Lodge and the traditions that her grandparents had, especially the Christmas light display. Liz finds pieces of her grandmother's angel collection left in different places and takes those as a sign that she is doing the right thing, but then she accidentally breaks her ankle and she takes that as a sign that maybe she didn't make the right decision. It will take a lot of help from a lot of special "angels" including a very special dog named Elvis to help Matt show Liz that she is where she belongs. Read to see if Liz will come around and embrace her dream again also read to see just how many lives can be touched by the simplest things. This story reminded me that one can never know just how far reaching one act can travel.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. The above is my honest and freely given opinion.
