The author offers unique insight into a very human subject that all can relate to. Encouraging read.

This is a lovely devotional book for teen girls written by Wynter Pitts, who, sadly, recently passed away. She was a cousin to Priscilla Shirer who is also an author and writes devotional type studies. You’ll find a lot of gentle encouragement from her heart to those of teen girls. Having four girls of her own, Wynter was well equipped to write about topics applicable to a girl’s heart and does so in a low key, conversational style.

Each short devotional is introduced with a Bible verse and personal thoughts or a story from Wynter’s life. The material is more relational in emphasis than in depth. I would think this would make it a good introduction for those who’ve never read a devotional before, those who are not yet Christians and those who aren’t ready for deep theological content.

I’ll include a couple of highlights:

“Throughout the Bible, God uses the word “beloved” to describe how he feels about us. You can think about it like he is giving us a command: “Be loved.” He wants you to know what you are supposed to do - you are to be loved.”

And

“The more you listen for God’s voice and follow in obedience, the more you will come alive to His plans.”

This is a great first devotional for any teen girl.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was really interested in this book as it was written by Wynter Pitts before her untimely death. This book did not disappoint. Such great truths written to girls and women everywhere. It was a very enjoyable read.

I requested I Am Yours from NetGalley to se see if it would be a book that I would want to purchase in paperback for my daughter. It did not disappoint with a verse, devotion and a prayer for each day. They relate well to the tween girl and I think will be great for moms to read with their daughters. The book focuses on all the different relationships in a girl's life and how to deal with the people around her. The author, Wynter Pitts, passed away last year, but left a wonderful resource for other girl moms and I have pre-ordered this to do with my daughter.

I Am Yours by Wynter Pitts is a devotional meant for 10 -14 years old girls, however I felt it was more for older girls around 12-14 years old girls. Each devotion takes about five minutes to read and process. It starts with a Bible verse, then a summary of the topic and ends with a prayer. In each summary, it has an example of the topic even though sometimes the example could be more real world associated. Overall it was an pretty good devotional for girls.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
