Mary Kubica has done it again!! This book does not disappoint. Plot twists, suspense and excitement are the main ingredients that you will crave until the very end, Told through 3 female points of view made this a thrilling, unputdownable read!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! A perfect and creepy fall thriller. This story starts out with Sadie and Will moving to a small coastal island in Maine, where murder and killers on the run are not the norm. Eerie old homes and characters surrounded by mysterious circumstances and death are sure to give you the creeps. I loved this book and all of the twists and turns it contained. Another good one by Mary Kubica that will keep you turning the pages!

Sigh. I wanted to love this book. I REALLY wanted to love it. I have been so enamored by all of the Mary Kubica's other books, but this one fell short for me. I am typically a fast reader so any book that takes me more than two or three days to read is usually not a big winner for me. The first 75% of the book dragged on for what felt like forever. I had such trouble reading the chapters written by Mouse. It was very difficult emotionally and mentally to read the abuse she lived. I know this is fiction, but it was still very difficult.

Picture this: you live in an old, decrepit house with an insolent teenager on an island in the middle of winter. Oh, and sometimes that island leaves you cut off from the rest of the world.
Throw in a dead body and you're sure to stay up late into the night to find out exactly what's going on in Mary Kubica's newest novel.
Told in 3 different points of view (with a 4th being thrown in at the very end) I absolutely devoured this book. Sadie starts of as a pretty normal wife of Will Foust and mother to Tate and Otto. After the death of Will's sister they move out to an island in Maine to live in an old home and take care of their niece.
As the novel wears on Sadie starts to go a little crazy, although it's hard to tell exactly from what. And I had no know, so I devoured this book. And the end? Yep, it was amazing.
It is the best time of year to read this book and I cannot recommend it enough!

Sadie and Will have been going through a rough patch since Will's affair, so a new start in a new town sounds great. They inherit a house in Maine from Will's sister and also guardianship of Imogene their teenage niece. Imogene has a defiant personality and Sadie is worried about her son's Otto and Tate being around her.
A neighbor is murdered and then the twists and turns begin. I felt the story was a bit slow in the beginning but then, WOW, so many twists and turns. A very surprising ending.

I have read all of Mary Kubica's books and typically enjoy them but the endings can call flat for me.
Sadie and Will Foust have just moved their family from Chicago to a small-town Maine when their neighbor, Morgan Baines, is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie, who is terrified by the thought of a killer in her very own backyard.
The story is told from three POVs and it is a very character driven story, but two of the POVs do not seem as flushed out or developed and feel disjointed. Eventually all the characters and twists are revealed and fall in place. I would have liked a bit more of the investigative piece, I thought this fell a little short and the characters had more weight than the investigation, sometimes I even forgot there was a murder investigation going on. Many suspicious seeds were planted throughout giving a good tone of who to trust and be wary of.
Sadie's own questioning of others in her house and around town did not necessarily make me suspicious of others but more questioning her state of mind. I did figure out some of the twists early on and was pretty surprised by a couple of them. The story was intriguing and a quick read. The last about 20% everything really started falling into place and became much more captivating than the rest of the book. However, the ending was such a quick wrap up to the story and one coincidence that seemed implausible.

Mary Kubica always does a great job with twists in her books, and this one is no exception. Definitely a book that makes you think about what you've read after the twist is revealed. Sadie and Will move their family to Maine after Will's sister Alice passes away and leaves the creepy old house and the guardianship of her goth daughter to Will.
A short time after they move in, their neighbor Morgan Baines is brutally murdered. Sadie becomes obsessed with solving her murder and starts befriending people in the small town to get their thoughts and the local gossip.
If you carefully follow the bread crumbs the author leaves, you could probably figure out what is going on... I definitely had my suspicions, but it is an entertaining and creepy read nonetheless.

Oh man oh man!
This is the second book I read by this author and oh man was this a great thriller!.
The twists and turns that Mary KubiCA takes you on!. I kept thinking I had it all figured out, but I was so wrong! I love the suspense of the story as well as the characters! Can't wait to read more books by this author!!!

Following the death of her sister-in-law, Sadie and her family leave their lives in Chicago behind and move to an island off the coast of Maine to raise her niece, a girl who has made it clear she doesn’t want Sadie anywhere near her. When the woman next door is murdered, Sadie begins to believe the person responsible is living under her roof.
I have read all of Mary Kubica’s books and I anxiously await each new publication so I was thrilled to receive an ARC of The Other Mrs. from NetGalley. As I read the book I repeatedly thought the “twist” in this novel was glaringly obvious but I should have known better. The Other Mrs. features a twist so surprising that I never saw it coming and I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a well-written thriller with strong female leads.

#theothermrs #marykubica #netgalley #netgalleyreview #arc #books📚 #booksofinstagram #bookstagram first off. I adore this author. EVERYTHING she writes is beyond phenomenal. If you haven't read her yet #google her name and #readthemall. This book I could NOT put down. #adulting #working #parenting they all got in my way but thank God I am a #nightowl and kept chugging along. This book talks of mental illness and fibromyalgia. It twists and turns. You're confused. Trying to solve this puzzle and then BAM. She slaps you hard across the face with a #gotcha. You have zero idea what's happening. The road your traveling on. These books are my favorite books. The story is wonderfully told. No gaps. It's just right. I can NOT recommend this book enough ❤️ #bookhangover #whatnext😂

Mary Kubica always has riveting books. This one was told from different perspectives. The story line had unexpected turns and twist. The charcters were engaging and the scar.y components keep my interest..
It all came together at the end and it was definitely a good read..

Great thriller of a ride. I enjoyed this book so much. I was shook at the ending cause it wasn't expected. All the twists and turns kept me reading from beginning to end and enjoying every minute of it.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Other Mrs. tells a story from 3 different perspectives - the reader does not immediately know the time line or how the perspectives relate to one another but you quickly learn about at least one murder and some other side stories. The book is fast paced and pulls you in right away.
I had been wanting to read Mary Kubica for a while so I was excited for this. To me it became pretty clear about 2 of the perspectives and then the 3rd one became clearer later on. BUT although I felt like I had figured out a lot of what was going on there was still a piece of the story that I did not figure out on my own that was very interesting. Although I solved a lot of the puzzle, which I prefer not to be able to do, the story was still intriguing and kept me reading quickly. While the ending had a surprise, like I said, it also seemed to button up a little too easily at the end AND there was one "coincidence" (who they moved near) that is so insanely unlikely. I didn't enjoy that part of it because while most of these thrillers are insanely unlikely this one piece was over the top and a reason for it was really never offered up.
I will definitely be reading other Mary Kubica books after reading this. I will try another one soon!

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Mary Kubica knows how to write a thriller that will keep you turning the pages. I also love the fact she shines a light on mental illness in this book. Sadie and Will are starting over in a small town after Will's sister dies and leaves them a house in Maine. We soon quickly see they are running from many secrets left behind in Chicago. A great read!

The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica..... Will and Sadie move their family to an island off the coast of Maine after Will’s sister Alice commits suicide and they inherit the house and custody of his niece. Sadie a doctor and Will a professor ....it is told in different POV. A murder just a couple houses down. Sadie who loses track of time. A detective who is determined to solve this murder. You think you have it all figured out....your wrong!
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for my advance copy!!
I am giving this 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 only because I thought the build up was just a tad slow. But once the author got you there it was hands down a page turner I didn’t want to put down! The twist!!! I thought I had it figured out....nope wrong! A good author keeps you guessing until the very end and I love being shocked! Great book!!

Such a good book with so many twists! I have always loved Mary Kubica, and she did not disappoint. This book keeps you guessing until the very end.

Sadie and her family move into a creepy home, the same house where her sister-in-law died. She also becomes a guardian for her angsty niece who hates her. If that isn’t enough, a neighbor dies, and Sadie has to wonder who can be trusted. This book is twisty and suspenseful with tons of unreliable characters. I couldn’t put it down.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing advance review copies to review. All opinions are my own.

A special thank you to NetGalley and Park Row Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Fousts are starting over in Maine. Sadie and Will have moved their family from Chicago to a small island town. Shortly after moving, their neighbour, Morgan Baines, is found dead in her home.
Sadie is not only shaken up by the murder, but she's also creeped out by their dilapidated old home that was inherited from Will's sister after her sudden and unexpected death. As Sadie obsesses over what happened, she also has to deal with Will's niece, Imogen, who they are now guardians of. But the more Sadie discovers about the town, and its residents, the more she realizes that she may be involved in the murder.
One woman's struggles, another's obsession, and a little girl named Mouse collide in this hypnotic and complex narrative. Told from multiple perspectives, The Other Mrs. has strong pacing and incredibly complex characters. This story is hypnotic and well-sculpted and I was hooked from the first page.
Kubica is a master at this genre and this is my favourite book of hers to date.

Sadie and her husband, Will, move to a creepy old house to take care of their niece after Will’s sister commits suicide. Sadie is a doctor and seems to have a perfect life. Surprise! Things are not as they seem! I felt like this was a slow story with a couple twists that might surprise some readers. Unfortunately, I saw it coming a mile away. I enjoyed the story but just wish it was a bit faster.
***I received this ebook from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Sadie and Will Foust moved their family from Chicago to Maine after his sister died, leaving him in charge of her sixteen year old daughter. The island itself is home to less than a thousand residents. They live on the more populous part, in walking distance of the ferry. Living on this remote island has its advantages and disadvantages.
Maine was meant to be a new beginning, a fresh start. Instead it had a detrimental effect on everything, Will and her marriage, there family, there lives.
Overall:
The story being written in three points of view was confusing. The other two characters Mouse and Camille didn’t receive the same type of introductions as the rest of the characters. They remained mysterious and somewhat suspicious. Eventually, the characters all come to a head where reality takes hold unveiling the big mystery.
It’s a character driven driven story with much speculation about these characters actions. Therefore, the character developments took up a big chunk of space by painting most all of these characters in dim colors. Minus the two other characters whose points of view were separated into isolated chapters.
As for an investigative standpoint the story was lacking. I was so busy trying to piece together all the working parts that it took away from the concept. I think it was intentional to throw the reader off course to better hide the real cause of danger.
The officer assigned the murder case was only a supporting character with very little relevance to the story. Most of the time I had my doubts that a murder even occurred. To me the murder was not the main focus.
There were great moments and some weak moments. I found myself stepping away from the story numerous times. It didn’t hold my interest at all times. I was going thru the motions of reading even skimming at some points thinking to myself what is the point in all this? When will it come together and make sense? As it stands it’s just mediocre. I’m looking for exceptional. I want chills to creep along my skin and feel the power of the words. This story doesn’t have powerful moving words. It’s stagnant. I’m disappointed with the lackluster of these characters lives. In order push things along I made a choice of my own as to who I deemed suspicious ignoring the way Ms. Kubica delivered the information. Doing this allowed me to focus of Sadie’s character more acutely.
Ms. Kubica has a lot of moving parts in the story. It’s a great deterrent from what’s hidden beneath the surface. The way Sadie views and analyzes everyone around her is very telling. Yet the way Imogen was defined was disappointing. I don’t much care for trying to define a character by the way she dresses or with whom she socializes with. It’s their actions and behaviors that define them. Imogen’s character is painted as this brooding troubled teenager whom is disobedient and defiant towards them.
The seed of suspicion was planted regarding Will’s past. Nothing he could do would redeem him of the suspicious thoughts Sadie had of him. Yet his present behaviors warranted no mistrust. Ms. Kubica planted many seeds some with suspicious activity and some with comforting and supporting activity.
Things got messy when Sadie tried to play detective. Her convoluted ideas regarding the other characters behaviors had me questioning her own state of mind. I’m certain this was intentional.
At the eighty percent mark the story came alive. I wasn’t totally invested in this story from the beginning having struggled with the three different points of views, but once all was unveiled I quickly got back on board. The remaining twenty pe recent of the book was a page turner. I just wish the rest of the book held the same caliber of suspense.
