“The Other Mrs” is a tense psychological thriller that will definitely keep your interest right to the last page. The story is told through alternating narrators, which ratchets up the suspense as more and more pieces fall into place, building to an unexpected conclusion. Nicely done!
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through @NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Great thriller! Even when you think you have figured out the twist, there is so much more to it than you imagine. Kubica is great at creating interesting character but she is brilliant at plotting. Great domestic drama that you will want to read in one sitting!

The Other Mrs is a wonderful twisty thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sadie and Will have moved to a tiny island in Maine from Chicago following the death of Will’s sister. They inherited the house and custody of the sister’s teenage daughter. Although Sadie didn’t want to move she realized that they needed a fresh start after Will’s affair.

Not long after their move one of their neighbors is found murdered in her home just down the street from them. What comes next is an unraveling of Sadie as she tries to piece together what happened before the police pin the murder on her.

Love Mary Kubica in general, and this one kept me guessing. I thought I had everything figured out, but was hit like a ton of bricks with all of the twists at the end! The island setting in Maine is almost a character itself in this twisted novel of suspense.

THE OTHER MRS. is a hard to put down mystery with so many twists that I never saw coming!

Sadie and Will have just moved to a tiny island in Maine from Chicago. They have their two sons with them and due to unforeseen circumstances, they inherit Will’s niece when his sister passes away. They also inherit her house. Will tells Sadie that this will be a fresh start after their lives have recently had some troubling moments.

When their new neighbor, Morgan Baines, is found murdered in her home, Sadie adds another check mark to her growing list of reasons on why they shouldn’t have upheaved their lives. While they inadvertently get pulled into the mystery of Morgan’s death, more secrets unravel and it’s apparent that one, two, or all of Sadie’s family may be in grave danger.

Mary Kubica is a brilliant writer who really delves deep into her characters to make them fully developed. She also has a way of making the reader constantly want to read more at the end of the chapter. I was hooked from the beginning, and after the 75% mark, actually gasped at the way revelations were revealed. Then it happened again, and again. This is the kind of book I did not want to end because I was so entertained. Highly recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley, Mary Kubica, and Park Row for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A great, twisty, domestic thriller! I had a great time with this book. I feel like pages before it happened I figured out what was about to happen, but it didn’t bother me. I liked the ending. I liked the characters and cared about them. Overall a very solid thriller from an author I haven’t read before!

At the point of being 10% into The Other Mrs. I was pretty certain that I knew the secret that was at the heart of the book and had thought to quickly read through to the end. That plan came to an end very soon as I became invested in the story. Turned out that there was a lot more to that central theme and the novel is more than a “who done it”. I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining thriller.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC

This book starts so slow and stay that way for about 70% of it and then eventually picks up and gets quite interesting . Quite a bit of it was predictable ... although there is a twist at the end that’s quite good .

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of this book.

A spooky atmosphere in Maine, unsettling questions about the husband and wife, and a local murder. This should be right up my alley. But for some reason I cannot put my finger on it was just okay for me. I enjoyed this for what it was, a nice thriller, but it doesn’t stand out in any special way.

“The Other Mrs.” by Mary Kubica is a new author to this reader. It is a well written, twisted, hypnotic and addictive story that draws you into the Foust Family, the little quirks, and the murder of their neighbor Morgan Baines. I typically do not read psychological thrillers but am incorporating them into my list of reads and this story did not fail.

The Foust Family are very dysfunctional i.e., the husband is a big flirt, the niece is a loner who has a dark past, the normal and troubled sons and the mother who suffers from what appears to be bipolar with hidden secrets. As soon as the family uproots to a new city, low and behold there is a murder next door. The neighbor is found dead the new family on the block and Sadie, the mother and wife become the lead suspect. The only way to clear her name is to find the real murderer.

This suspenseful novel kept my eyes glued to the pages…page after page pulling me into wanting to get to the end to find out “Who dun nit”. There is so many twists going on in every phase that when you thought you knew one thing, an “ah ha” moment happens and turns you in another direction. Sadie’s character was complex, Imogen was heart-breaking and Will was unforgiving. I won’t get too much more into the novel but to say tangled web and unpredictable. The suspense is never ending and the pace if perfect.

This book was amazing from start to finish and I have become a fan of this author. Will be looking forward to reading more from her.

Thanks very much to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved this book! Lots of great characters and many many twists and turns. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something else would happen and I was totally wrong. Great twisty thriller! Highly recommend.

If I would have known that this was a story involving multiple personalities I probably would not have read the book because I find that storyline rather simplistic. However, I am glad that I did read this book. It was another winner from the author. Putting aside my personal preference, I found the book to be well written and to do a good job of building on mystery and suspense. It is a book that I would recommend to others.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review -
A thrilling psychological thriller you will devour -
Will and Sadie move to Maine, to a house he inherited when his sister died. With the house came Imogence, a troubled teen. Sadie is worried when their neighbor is murdered and all eyes begin to look at them, the new family in the neighborhood.
With Sadie's and Will's troubled past and Imogence troubled soul - you will be turning the pages quickly to discover a shocking ending!!!

Sadie and Will and their two kids move to his sisters house on an island in Maine after she dies. She also leaves her daughter to them to care for. Soon after someone is murdered and the police think it was Sadie so she makes it her business to find out what’s going on. There is a lot going on in this book. It’ll make you think you know what’s gonna happen and then something totally unexpected happens.

I really didn’t connect with Sadie and found her to be boring yet the writing kept my attention. I rather enjoyed Camille and Mouse and the way they “spoke”. So this tells me I will like other Mary Kubica books (this was my first).

I’m not sure if it’s just the ebook version but anywhere the letter “f” and “l” we’re together a space followed. (Muff led instead of muffled) and it became rather annoying I couldn’t always float over it naturally. Since it’s not a published book yet I haven’t let this affect my rating but I wanted to mention it for the publishers/editors.

I totally flipped out to get to read another Mary Kubica novel! I love her previous novels and I wasn't disappointed! She has nailed it again! This thriller will have you up all night to finish this one just like The Good Girl, Pretty Baby, and Every Last Lie. The Other Mrs. is the perfect fall read with murder and creepy houses!

Brilliant, my favorite Mary Kubica book. It was dark and touched upon subject matter is a well-researched and creative manner. I had to finish this book, it was like going down a rabbit hole. The cover is stunning and suits the book perfectly and the story itself shines. It will be a book that I will high recommend and I appreciate the opportunity to have read it earlyl

I received a complimentary advance reader copy of this book from NetGalley. This did not influence my review in any way.

Although this book started out really slow it did pick up in the second half of the book. None of the characters were particularly like-able so it was hard to really root for any of them. The "twist" at the end of the book did surprise me but I think I should have inferred it a little quicker and many other readers may catch on quicker than I did. The ending wrapped up rather quickly and I do feel like there were some unanswered questions. All in all, this was a good thriller.

This book felt very rushed and formulaic to me. She has some good ideas but maybe the author needs to take more time writing the books vs publishing so frequently? This book was all over the place and while they dropped clues, they were not subtle at all. It was like being hit over the head.

Oh! How you only think you know someone.... I have to say this book left me feeling a bit unnerved (good thing). I don’t think I need to give any summary/synopsis, just know this— it will have you hooked if you’re taste in books is anything like mine. It is fast paced, gripping with continuous suspense throughout. 100% worthy of 5 big shinny Stars.
