I love Mary Kubica! I've been a big fan ever since reading The Good Girl back in 2014. Her thrillers are quick and suspenseful without being too heavy or literary. The Other Mrs. presents an unreliable narrator in Sadie, with her motives becoming more and more questionable as the book goes on. I had my own theories about The Other Mrs. some which were accurate, some which I never saw coming. I was overall pleased with the creativity and delivery of this story. Another solid one!

Mary Kubrick has been one of my favorite authors since “the good girl.” In the “The Other Mrs.” I feel like you really don’t know who to sympathize with. The story weaves around and pulls at your emotions and you’re moral compass in the best way possible.

Mary Kubica is back with another solid thriller with The Other Mrs. Sadie and her family have relocated to avoid the mistakes and issues of their past, but everything is still unsettled. When their neighbour is murdered, Sadie starts questioning what is happening around her and in her own home.

I found the middle dragged a bit. I'd figured out the major plot twist relatively early, so it felt long, but I will admit that I still had a surprise coming so I am glad I didn't decide to walk away. However the lull is what stopped me from giving The Other Mrs. a 4 star review... but close!

The author starts this mystery out a little slow, but when it picks up, you won't want to put it down. Just when you think you have it figured out who the Other Mrs. is and who the murderer is, there is an immediate switch. This happens more than once and with more than one of the characters and there's more than one murder. On a deeper level, the story exposed how the wicked can exploit the weaknesses and disabilities of the unexpecting. A very worthwhile read.

I love Mary Kubica's writing - i've read all of her books. I think that The Other Mrs. was a bit predictable for me but I read a lot of thrillers; I liked it a lot better than her previous book but so far The Good Girl is still my favorite.

I have loved Kubica since her first novel. I stalk this site and others for news of her next work and when I can read it and share it with others. The Other Mrs. was satisfying....creepy, twisted and classic Kubica!

This book definitely kept me guessing!! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy to read! About 3/4 of the way through I got mad at Sadie for not realizing more. Then suddenly I understood and didn’t harbor much more annoyance with her. I was glad it ended just the way it did.

I have read a couple of Mary's Kubica's novels, one I thought was ok and the other I didn't finish. I think this my least favourite of her books, it's definitely the creepiest. The main character's husband has a a niece that comes to live with them who is very clearly disturbed and a terror of a teenager. Add in the fact that her own child seems to be having some psychological issues. Just not for me

Dr. Sadie Faust, her husband, Will, and their two sons have just moved from Chicago to the coast of Maine. They moved there when they became the guardian of Will's teenaged niece after Will's sister committed suicide. It has been a tough adjustment period for all of them, but then their neighbor is brutally murdered. Sadie is freaked out by the whole situation. Their teenage son has something going on that worries Sadie and Imogen, their niece, is in a very dark place that makes Sadie think that their family isn't safe. What is worse is the local cops think that Sadie had something to do with the murder, which is crazy because Sadie never even met Morgan. Will Sadie be able to prove her innocence, find out who killed Morgan, and keep her family intact?

The Other Mrs. was an absolutely brilliant thriller. A phrase being thrown around these days is "unreliable narrator" and there was absolutely no other way to describe Sadie. Sadie Faust was full of contradictions. She was a doctor who let her husband give her pills. She was a highly educated woman who let herself get swept away in fear and paranoia. There are multiple narrators, Sadie, Camille, Mouse, and eventually Will. I couldn't figure out who Mouse was to the rest of the main characters. I wondered if it was the daughter of the woman murdered, but I was wrong. - CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS. I was really not expecting the way things ended, I am not sure that there has a book in recent memory that surprised me that much.

Bottom Line - The Other Mrs. is one of those books that is going to be buzzed about all year. Mark my words, people will start talking about it at book clubs and in libraries all over the country. Everybody will be asking "Have you read The Other Mrs. yet?" So have you?

The market is becoming saturated with mysterious wife psychological thrillers. The mystery is fine, but I'm getting a little bored with this genre. Overall, a decent thriller.

The Other Mrs. had a strong start, but I didn't feel that it followed through to the end. I'm a fan of Mary Kubica's, but this wasn't one of my favorites. I just found this one to be too predictable and not all that thrilling. Also, no particularly empathetic characters. It's a good, quick read though.

Yet another book about a wife with secrets and an ending that seems like a cop out. Entertaining, but nothing truly unique.

This book certainly did not disappoint. The multiple point of views were interesting and suspenseful. The characters were easy to follow and invest in, and it felt like none of them could be trusted. Everything was so relatable, from the stress of the Foust marriage to the joy that was Imogene, the teenager Sadie is forced to deal with after Will's sister dies, leaving her in his care. You'll definitely want a chunk of time to devote to this book, because you won't want to put it down!

This was only my second Mary Kubica book and I'm hooked on her. She is a great thriller writer and keeps up the suspense throughout the book. I didn't see the ending coming either - which I love when books aren't predictable like they usually are. Definitely recommend. I plan to read all her backlist books now.

This book has a few different layers to it and it’s fun to uncover everything going on. The story moves quickly and kept my attention and I wasn’t entirely sure where it was going. A few of the twists surprised me and a few were set up in a way that I could guess what was going to happen before the reveal. Overall, it was a great ride. My only complaint is that I felt that one of the characters could have been explored more and I would have loved to hear some of the story from her point of view or even just get a little more insight into her character.

I have a hard time reviewing this one, it just, it wasn’t for me. The breakdowns in believability here start off really early, as in the first couple of chapters, with the development and treatment of the character of Imogen. I get where the author was going with her, but the way we got there was just completely off the believability spectrum.

Oh the plot twist, Kubica is known for having a twist in her stories so I knew that one was coming. Maybe that is why I was able to predict how this was all falling together. I would be interested to talk to someone about how they interpreted the twist and if it caught them off guard.

If you are a fan of Mary Kubica’s previous novels such as “The Good Girl” or “Pretty Baby” , then you will likely enjoy this book too. It is a fairly quick read and it did keep my attention as I rooted for something believable to happen to tie everything together. For me, it just never really got there.

The Other Mrs. was a captivating, intense and surprising thriller, leaving the reader guessing quite often of what could possibly happen next. This mystery was set in present time, in Maine, was full of complex and dysfunctional characters. I enjoyed this novel. Thank you for the publisher, author and NetGalley for the e-reader for review. I enjoyed this psychological thriller and found the setting so atmospheric. It's definitely a tension builder and Sadie being unlikeable added that for me. If you don't like unlikeable main characters, you may have a hard time with this one, but for me, main characters don't always have to be likeable.

I have like Mary Kubica's work in the past, so I was happy to request this title. To me, it was an okay read but not as good as some of her other works. I felt some of it moved slowly. I kept going back and forth on what was going to happen and didn't guess, so that was a plus. But, I found myself just wanting to know and it wasn't moving fast enough. I did enjoy the last 1/3 more than the rest of the book.

If you are a Kubica fan, you may be a bit let down. But, if you haven't read her other books, I think you will like this one.

3.5 stars This one kept me guessing but I knew about half way through who to blame. I wasn't 100% correct so some of it was still a good surprise.
