This series so keeps you on your toes.. we are reaching the climatic end and we just can't read fast enough.. Ms. Grant has blessed us with so many hours of imagination and wisdom. This particular book, shows what happens when you hate something, and the will it takes to overcome your own misery for the taste of true love, whether its dark or light...

In Dark Alpha's Redemption, the Dragon King's take a backseat as the story delves into a love story between a reaper and a dark fae. Bradach is a Reaper on a mission to find a missing friend. Using a Dragon King for an introduction, Bradach ventures into Maeve the Merciless's domain. Maeve stepped up to run her father's business and created a ruthless reputation to survive when he was murdered. Trust no one has been drilled into her head after countless betrayals but she is instantly intrigued by the strange fae asking for help. Bradach hates the dark fae with good reason but sees something in Maeve that feels like fate. Fighting the good fight and trying to stop the dark fae who masquerades as a light fae queen, Bradach and Maeve win a hard fought HEA. The continuing saga with the Dragon Kings flow smoothly in the background and familiar characters make cameo appearances. This book hooked me from the get go I just couldn’t put it down I fell in love with these characters and omg what a story just a perfect read I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough it was so good

Well this is an upset - this will be the first time I have given this Author less than 4/5 stars in any of her series .

The book starts well …….. progresses at an even better level and then once the two main characters declare their love...……… the book stops . WHY ??
What has happened to the quest to find Xanath ?
What has happened to finding Con ?
What is Maeve going to do in the future in regard to her position as Maeve the Merciless ?

Bradach , the Reaper , has been tasked with searching for Xanath - who disappeared in the battle against Bran . Usaeil , Queen of the Light Fae , is the main suspect but cannot be found . However Maeve the Merciless is a known friend of the Queen and Bradoch needs an introduction - Balladyn , King of the Dark Fae is willing to provide the introduction , anything to bring Usaeil to account .
Hiding what he is from Maeve , Bradach soon gains her trust - and the location of one of Usaeil's hideaways .
But is it a trap ? can Maeve be trusted ? she has her own secrets to hide !
It is only by believing in each other and with the aid of both the Dragon Kings and the other Reapers that the fight can be fought .
This was another fast paced book in this overlapping series , that I usually enjoy , BUT the sudden ending left me with too many questions unanswered . I feel that perhaps the Author is trying to bring all the different threads together to provide a final conclusion ………… but there are just to many at this time and this book solves none of them .
That being said I will be looking forward to the next books in these enjoyable series .

This is a continuation of the Reaper series with some crossover characters from the Dragon Kings and picks up right after the last book. The fight against Usaeil the evil Light Queen is building and the Reapers are on the move trying to topple her from her so-called tower of power. the Reaper Bradach was sent out on a mission. As a previous Light Fae his distrust of the Dark is great but he must work with the King of the Dark to get answers. Along the way he meets Maeve, another Dark Fae who intrigues him with her character. They then face intrigue and real battle while discovering that there is no such thing as just Light (good) and just Dark (bad). The book may start a little slow but picks up quickly. Also the characters in this series are great and it’s really nice to see old ones pop back up. There is some mystery with a light sprinkle of sexual tension but the main focus is on the relationship of both Maeve and Bradach. And the escalation to the final battle of good and evil.. While it is highly suggested to read the other books in the series for the greatest reading pleasure you can read this alone as the emotions between the two leads are so strong. 4.5 stars

great book. all the suspense of the series is great but getting a little tedious, waiting for something to actually happen. but still enjoy the characters

Dark Alpha's Redemption is the eighth book in the Reaper series by Donna Grant. This exciting series is a continuation of Dark World series. It brings to light new faces and a new mythos along with a deeper insight into the Reapers of the Dark and Light Fae who work under Death, who were teased about in the Dark World series till now and depicted as the bogeyman of the Fae realm. While some of the favorite characters from the Dark World series do make cameos in the Reaper books, the focus is on illuminating a new mythos with brand new characters and relationships. This new world and the dark court was first introduced with Dark Alpha's Claim, the first book in the series. Since then, each book has opened a new chapter as we delve deeper into their world.

This book introduces Maeve, a dark fae power broker who is renowned for being so merciless in her public dealings that even the bloodthirsty dark fae cower before her. She's very intelligent and cunning, qualities which have been forged in flame when she took over her father’s empire and survived to take it to a whole other level.

Bradach is a powerful light fae who was made a reaper by Death and is part of her second group of reapers. He, along with his compatriots, is one of the fae's fabled executioners on the orders of Death, who acts as Judge and Jury.

Bradach and Maeve work together to find the light queen Usaeil and try to find a way to find out where the seeker, Xaneth and the King of the Dragon Kings, Constantine are being held. This book takes us closer to the final endgame and is truly spellbinding.

I confess, it's been awhile since I last read this series and I forgot some of what was happening but the more I read the story the more memories came back. So I would definitely recommend to read all of the previous books in this series, just so you don't get lost in what's happening plot wise.
And that brings me to the plot of this story. It was all right but I was quite disappointed that nothing really happened with the big picture. The mission Bradach was given by Death, as he is one of her Reapers, was that he finds and I suppose also saves one of Usaeil's aka. the evil queen's prisoners. And that's where the plot let me down big time. Because guess what, nobody gets saved, we get more questions than answers and also half of the plot was wainting on Rhi to save the day, which would be great if she was actually even in the book.
But no, all we get is, at least with what I assume will happen, the premise for the next book. This story felt more like a filler to me and while I enjoyed the romance between Bradach and Maeve, I wished for more. Maeve is a great character and I quite like her, so that's why I give this book a three and a half star rating. So will I be reading the next book, well I honestly don't know. Maybe if it's about Rhi but probably not if it's about someone else.

Oo it was definitely time for Bradach to get his world turned upside down ! This big bad Reaper starts out convinced that he could never trust a Dark Fae and then meets Maeve or should I say Maeve the Merciless ! From their first meeting the chemistry sizzles but thankfully the romance itself went at a more realistic pace. These books are quite short so can occasionally suffer from instant love and rumpy pumpy so I much preferred this.
This story whilst not exactly moving the overall plot along was entertaining and I loved Usaeil, the evil Queen and her Trackers. Plus we get more about the Dragon Kings which in my mind is always a good thing. I'm still anxiously waiting for Rhi to appear but with Death making an appearance I am somewhat mollified . Theres action, deceit and betrayal but most of all a really well written story.

Another great story in The Reapers series. Bradach the Reaper and Maeve the Merciless are the couple in this release. They both have their secrets. They team up to find Xaneth that Usaeil kidnapped in the last release. Maeve knows Usaeil hiding places so she agrees to help Bradach find him.
The story line doesn’t advance much in this one but we see Death and all the Reapers in this along with some of the a Dragon Kings. We learn more about Usaeil and her background so it’s not to be missed. The war is coming and the showdown with Usaeil and Rhi needs to happen soon.
I love this series and can’t wait for the next one.

I received an ARC of Dark Alpha’s Redemption from NetGalley to read and enjoy. I am always excited to get my hands on the latest Donna Grant stories! Maeve and Bradach’s story was a short read with pieces of information on the ongoing conflicts with Usaeil. We even see a little bit of Balladyn in the story (I am so hoping for his story in the future!!!) Bradach isn’t thrilled to be working with a Dark Fae, but with her help they do locate Usaeil and we see a bit about what she is doing to Xaneth. Maeve is more than a match for Bradach and they mesh well together. Each book gets us a little closer to everything coming together and I’m torn between wanting to know how it all ends and wanting it to go on forever.

Dark Alpha's Redemption picks up where the previous book in this series left off . . . the search for Xaneth. We learn about Bradach, one of the reapers in Eoghan's command who is tasked with locating Xaneth. He is to do this by contacting Maeve the Merciless, a Dark. Bradach hates the Dark and we find out why. However, in the effort to discover what happened to Xaneth, he works together with Maeve, falling in love in the process. (No surprise there!) Dark Alpha's Redemption reveals more information about the Trackers, Usaeil's hatred of Rhi, and the role Usaeil has played in Xaneth's disappearance. Balladyn, the Dragon Kings, and the Reapers are uniting in the fight against Usaeil. There is plenty that is left unresolved, to be continued in upcoming novellas in this series. Looking forward to learning more as the upcoming battle continues to take shape.

I so happy that we are beginning to delve into the lives of the second team of Reapers. I have been dying to get to know each one on a much more intimate level. They are each full of secrets, and I love to see characters laid bare. I enjoy seeing what is at the heart of each one since they are each so amazing in their own way. This book did not disappoint in any way. Also, I enjoyed seeing that people aren’t always what we think. Even in the dark light can flourish and grow even in just a small ray. That filled my heart with such joy! This is a shorter then usual book, but I devoured each delicious word. What an spectacular treasure!

Donna Grant has graciously given us another jewel that we are able to treasure while taking a deeper look at one of her incredible characters. She never fails to leave my heart full to bursting with hope and love no matter dire the situation is. What a fantastically talented author that always leaves me feeling blessed! Do not miss out on this wonderful work of pure magic and art!

Grant's Reaper/Fae/Dragon/Death series are complicated with all the characters that she has created. Even saying that all of her novels are worth the read. Romance is always a part of Grant's paranormal writing. Couple this time is Reaper Bradach and Faw Maeve. They are on a hunt to find Usaeil who has been kidnapping key players. Although this can stand alone it would be better to catch up with the others in this series.

From the very first page there was action and it was a brilliant story from start to finish.

My favourite series that she writes is the Dark Kings, featuring the Dragon Kings but the Reapers are a close second and I love how the characters have started to cross the different series as the books have all progressed.

I love the writing style, characterisation and plot line – no hesitation in giving this one 5 stars!!

I’ve been following the Reaper series, and although this could be read as a stand-alone it is more fun and makes more sense with a little background.
The star of this book, in my opinion, is Maeve. She is smart, business savvy, and a survivor. After her father was murdered, she took over the family business and has survived numerous attempts on her life. She has also built walls around herself and only has one friend who she has known since childhood.
Bradach is a reaper and is given the task of finding Xaneth, a Light Fae who has been abducted by the Queen of the Light Fae. He dislikes the Dark Fae, but in this case he needs to go to the King of the Dark Fae to ask for help, who in turns sends him to Maeve. Even with his dislike of Dark Fae, he is attracted to Maeve and it bothers him.
I enjoyed the back and forth between Bradach and Maeve, both not used to trusting others and both very strong, independent people. And I really liked that the story focused on these two characters because so much was going on between the two that really made the story special to me. Plus we had a little of the Dragon Kings (always fun)

This book is not one I'd recommend as a stand-alone read - at this point I am so invested in this series, I can't imagine not having read all the other books first. Including the Dragon Kings series. Donna Grant does a lot of explaining about the circumstances that led up to this book, but in some ways I wish she hadn't - that way the book could have focused more on the current leads and moving the story arc forward. In a lot of ways, I felt like I was treading water with this book. Learning new information - but not going anywhere.

I loved Braddach in all his brooding glory. I also loved Maeve in her tough but lonely persona. I loved that Braddach didn't question whether Maeve could handle herself. He didn't try to rescue her or push her out of the way so he could handle things himself. Even to the point at which Maeve wanted him to help her - but he didn't because she needed to do it herself.

I love Donna Grant's writing and this world she has created. I just wish a little more had happened in this story.

Love this series, but I wasn't as invested in this one since I did really know Bradach. I don't remember anything about him from the previous books. Maeve was one kick arse Fae. I loved how their relationship evolved. Best part was with the Dragon Kings and other Reapers.

Can't wait for Fever and maybe will finally find out where the UB!tch has Con and Xaneth...and where the heck is Rhi?
