Rose: A Double Life was an interesting little volume. It manages to pack in death, ghosts, witches, special powers, murder, and an ongoing police case in less than 60 pages. I didn't find myself super engaged, but enjoyed it while it lasted and the colors used (greys, blues, and soft yellows) were lovely.

I was initially attracted to this comic book by the cover and turning the pages I was not disappointed by the illustrations:they are really so beautiful!

This is the first of episode of a series.
The story is a mix of mystery,paranormal and fantasy and the plot is initially slow but quickly becomes gripping and misterious.

The only disappointment is when you get to the last page...because you want to know how the story goes on!

I have no idea why but it was not what I was expecting, I got so much more! I loved it so much. I didn't really see it going the way it did but it was better than anything I couldve thought up. I really felt for Rose when her father was explaining in the beginning about how 'special' she is. I read it so fast because I was so caught up in the mystery! All the secrets just kept me reading til I got to the end. I got some vibe at the beginning I believed would pay off at the end & they definitely did. I really liked her 𝘕𝘦𝘸 friends too. I can't wait to learn more about them.I gotta know more about her mother though! Super into this book, definitely must keep reading.

This is part murder mystery, part family mystery, and part supernatural story. Rose has a unique power to step outside of her body. She can also see what others cannot. The murder of her father sends her on a quest.

In some ways, this reminds me of an older Veronica Mars with a dead father and unique ability besides her mind.

The artwork is nice, and it is quite clear when Rose steps outside of herself and when she is really interacting in the world, physically.

There are not many answers in this first volume, but the idea is strongly developed and the story engaging.

What a fascinating little tale! I am in awe of the breathtaking illustration and addictive plot-line. Being able to split yourself in two would just be so fascinating!

I was genuinely devastated when I finished reading and now I am waiting, bated breath, for another instalment! So many un-answered questions about Rose's father, the detective, the paintings. Just wow!!!

Please read Rose, you will not regret it!!!

Unique art punctuates this literary use of the graphic novel medium. I want to share this book with readers who limit graphic novels. Well done.

Part paranormal, part mystery with vibes of Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado". A short and quick read with less than 50 pages- it was an excellent start to series. Can't wait for the next installment because I have so many questions that need to be answered.

I found Rose vol. 1 to be a great introduction and hook into the story. Rose is a gifted young girl with an eye for detail and a strange power that lets her leave her body and explore the world unseen. We get to see this power used casually at first, and then grow into something more as the events of the story unfold, making it a key point to the story and something I really enjoyed seeing.

The mystery is one I am eager to see continue to unfold. In this first volume we are given the building blocks of many things to come. Readers are introduced to key players and some of the backstory to what's happened providing more questions than answers. It's an enticing hook, and made that much more so by the cast of fascinating characters and a narrator just as tied into the story as everyone else.

As a character I found Rose to be just the right mix of inquisitive, lonely, and fascinating. She is not your typical tough girl ready to step into her role as the stories savoir, nor is she someone simply letting the story happen to her. She holds agency in the book, and even when she's unsure of how things connect she continues to press forward to uncover the truth.

The art was wonderful. I loved the use of color vs black and white to contrast the world of the living and the dead. I also loved how it was used to clarify the moments Rose stepped out of her body and returned. The colors themselves are soft and inviting, almost as if to invite readers into this world with a warm wave of the hand. I love the range of the characters everyone feels original and holds their own personality even if they are seen for a short period of time.

Overall I found this to be a great first book and I'm really excited to see where else this story goes from here. How will Rose uncover the truth of all these mysterious murders? Does the curse tie into what's going on in the present, and how will that unfold through the rest of the story? Who killed her father and why? All these questions are buzzing around in my brain, and I can't wait to pick up the next volume to start learning the truth.

Great first chapter in the story of Rose.

Rose has always been able to step outside her body and move around as if she were a ghost. After her father's death she meets three ghosts that live in the building that he owned. She also finds the scene of his crime is an exact copy of a scene on a painting in the museum where she works.

There's very strong story telling through the dialogue and the drawings.

I wish I could read the rest of the story already.
