I am just getting into meal prep, so I really appreciated the way this book was formatted. This serves as an easy introduction for those unfamiliar with meal prep. Simple and straightforward that anyone can follow.

I liked this one because I would like to be someone who meal preps, but I is always hard for me to find things that I can make that are easy. I liked that there was a guide fro 4 different types of diets, but you can also just use the recipes on their own. It was nice that there was a where to begin section. Also really liked that that it was a visual cookbook.

I'm having some mixed thoughts about this book. One one hand, the pictures are pretty and the recipes look good. I didn't have a chance to try any of them yet but I do like how they are divided into Vegetarian, Non Dairy and Meat Eating parts.

That said, there's nothing super earth shattering about this book. Romeo starts off explaining what meal prep is and why we should do it. We go through container sorting to shopping and prep for the prep.

But honestly, I was hoping for more. I wanted tips like - what meal is good to make and freeze? These veggies aren't in season, what about substitutes? What are the easiest ways or containers or items that help transport these meal prep foods? Are some better than others for waiting 4 days? Let's face it, the reason I'm reading this book is because I have a picky toddler and I'm trying to figure out new and creative ways to save time and still get her to eat healthy foods that doesn't involve chicken fingers and pizza. But there isn't really a section for that.
The book tries to be two different things - meal prep and cook book and sadly that didn't work for me. I wanted more at the beginning where some of my questions were answered. It is a nicely laid out book and I think I will try some of the recipes but as far as meal prep goes, I was not enlightened.

The Visual Guide to Easy Meal Prep by Erin Romeo is a perfect addition to any kitchen. The layout is simple and the instructions are easy to follow. Some of the ideas do seem like common sense, however, anyone new to meal prepping and looking for healthy recipes will find them here.

While I strive to keep myself organized in the kitchen, there are always times when I wish I was better prepared. Organizing the shopping and the prep is one thing that this cookbook seems to stress. The Visual Guide to Easy Meal Prep is a planning tool with some healthy recipes to help you achieve success in the kitchen.

❀ STRAIGHTFORWARD STEPS

The recipes that are included within this book all fit together with the themes of planning and healthy eating. Sourcing the ingredients is not difficult and the steps involved are straightforward. I created the Peanut Butter Brownies, which are a healthy alternative to your standard brownie. They were tasty, but not enough to sway me from enjoying a coveted dessert.

❀ GREAT TIPS AND HEALTHY ALTERNATIVES

If you are on the hunt for ideas to organize yourself in the kitchen, The Visual Guide to Easy Meal Prep may be the book for you. It has some great tips and healthy alternatives to many popular dishes.

Transitioning into a busier life is a hard adjustment, and people need to eat regardless of the situation. The Visual Guide to Easy Meal Prep is a fantastic starter book for new parents, young professionals, or anyone just leaving the nest. Containing basic recipes and ingredients with clear instruction for prep, storage, and cooking, this book will walk any newbie through cooking on the run (and hopefully keep them out of McDonald's!).

A terrific cookbook about easy meal preparation. Enjoyed several of the recipes from this one.

Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This book works on several levels, but you have to buy into the whole package for it to work for you.
Firstly Meal Prep is a self-repeating process, the more you do the easier the idea becomes a reality. This book presented a great argument for Meal Prep but will it make me change - sadly not.
Secondly Meal Prep prompts a better lifestyle but demands a degree of organisation and planning to have a ready meal to hand to save the grasp for that slice of cake.
Thirdly Meal Plan is easy only if you are organised and your default approach isn't laziness.
For the cook want to save money, eat better and more healthily this is a great resource.
I love the approach and felt the motivation, reception is my fault alone. A cook with a smile is a winning look. A cook book works with great pictures and photos of food, good enough to eat.
This book is a cramed with easy to follow recipes. The ethos of Meal Prep is a given but since this is a niche book that demands you buy into the whole concept. Otherwise, it is a cook book with some interesting tips and meals.
If you don't buy into Meal Prep then it will be a frustrarion, a constant reminder of a 'better' way like that gym equipment gathering dust in the garage.
Buy it if you are up for the challenge. read it if you are prepared to change. Meal Prep is not a spectator sport.

I really liked this cookbook. As a vegan i like cooking with lots of plant-based ingredients, nuts and seeds and this book didn't disappoint. Novice cooks can easily follow these recipes and implement them into their weekly routines. I will definately purchase a hardcopy of this book - i highly recommend..

Thanks for the ARC from the publisher & Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing/Race Point for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This was a fun book to read, lots of visuals. It had easy, concise instructions. I personally can't see eating something on Friday, I made the last Sunday so I would opt for the 2 mini preps a week. Overall a great simple start for food prep. Very organized and lots of information . 5 stars

This was a very informative cookbook that is perfect for beginners. There are suggestions on what type/size meal prep containers to use, when to prep your meals and how much time to anticipate, and suggested meal plans based on dietary restrictions. I own and have reviewed other meal prep cookbooks, but I feel that this one is incredibly user friendly and will not make someone feel overwhelmed if they are new to meal prepping. The photography is bright and clear, recipes are easy to follow, and overall this is a great cookbook for meal prep beginners.

This first part of this is great! I love how the container section is broken down for you. As someone that meal preps every week I have plenty of containers but i found that there are certain ones that you use more then others. The recopies are where I thought it wasn't as stellar. They weren't bad i just was not impressed. I was hoping for a few more creative ideas. But all in all I think this would be great for a beginner in meal prepping.

Takes a great approach to meal planning/prepping; the photos and layout are particularly clean. Especially notable is the sort global take on the subject so that a reader can apply the concepts/principles without getting overwhelmed by specific meal plans. A recommend for sure.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I really enjoyed this book! Meal prep is something we regularly do in our house, so when I saw this book on NetGalley, I was immediately drawn to it. What new, fresh tips and tricks could it contain?!

The introductory chapters are full of little nuggets of inspiration and encouragement to give meal prep a try. While I think this book is geared more towards beginners, I was still able to find some useful information to try out in my next meal prep session.

The tone of the book is very upbeat. You can tell as you read that Erin Romeo is truly passionate about the topic, and she really wants to help simplify life in the kitchen, something pretty much everyone can use help with!

The second part of the book is made up of original recipes, as well as step-by-step guides to get your meal prep done efficiently. She includes several meal plans for different dietary restrictions as well, so this really is an all-in-one guide. You can pick your diet, flip to the corresponding recipes, and then just follow the steps as she has laid them out. I can't wait to give her method a try during my next meal prep session!

I would recommend this book to... everyone, really. Everyone has to eat, and everyone is busy. This book could help anyone who is looking to streamline their time in the kitchen, especially people completely new to meal prep. Highly, highly recommend!

This book focuses on a plan for prepping the week's meals all at once, plus doing so with a healthy diet. It would be good for someone who's perhaps just starting out cooking for themselves or their family. Someone who finds it difficult to plan/prepare meals on a one-by-one basis might also benefit. Others might find most of the book rather elementary (e.g., lots of space used to describe the utensils needed, the appropriate foods, etc.)

The plan tells you step by step how to prep for several days' meals all within a few hours time. So, for someone who needs this help with organization, it's a useful tool. But, the book also contains a good selection of recipes for a variety of diet needs (e.g., guten- or dairy-free, vegetarian) that can be made in advance and stored until needed. This alone would make it a good recipe source for anyone wanting some healthy recipes.

I wouldn't buy this book because it lacks illustrations of each recipe. Lots of space is wasted with white space or out-of-focus/artsy photos of food. I want to see what it looks like before I make a recipe..

I really enjoy meal prepping one day a week out of my need to be organized, eat healthy, and be able to grab things quickly. I think this is a good cookbook but I wasn't sure what the 'visual guide' aspect of this book was since it seemed more of a straight-forward cookbook. The recipes are great (never thought of a 'broccoli, chicken, and cheese-stuffed sweet potato') yet other than the basics (a list of foods to purchase), I didn't learn anything over exciting that was different from how I normally prep my food. I think it would be a great book for someone who is just learning to change their dietary lifestyle and prep food for their success.

Meal prep has become a big thing over the last few years and I thought this book would help show people how to get started. Though the book did give an introduction to meal prep, what equipment would potentially be needed and a few sample menus I don't feel there was enough emphasis on meal prep. The meal prep portion of the book was quite short and the majority of it was recipes. I wouldn't class the recipes themselves as easy, most recipes required many ingredients which I don't feel is ideal for someone trying meal prep for the first time. "The Visual Guide" part of the title is misleading, there may be images in the book but no more than any standard recipe book and they definitely don't provide a guide to meal prep. Personally for me this book didn't deliver on what I thought it would be.

As a time poor and culinary challenged human I requested this book hoping it would reveal some tricks/tip to help me along or at least point me in the right direction. I am inclined to overthink things so it was a relief to learn there were only five steps to meal preparation.
The author emphasizes the importance of portion control and the accompanying photos are a great visual guide (appetizing as well) if you are a little uncertain. Written in a chatty style, with easy to follow recipes and accompanying tips make the process a lot easier particularly for someone like me. Not all of the recipes are to my liking but I wouldn’t expect them to be. There were quite a few I book marked to make on my next plan ahead day.
I was also impressed the author had some qualifications to her name and her experience wasn’t just from blogging, being famous etc. It is also good to learn from someone passionate about their work and happy to share their knowledge with others. It certainly increases my enjoyment and motivation when someone imparts in this manner.
As a single person I find cooking a large batch of food means I end up with a freezer (upright and Tuckerbox) filled with a lot of serves of the same meal. This can become a little monotonous but I can see I just need to organize my thinking and cooking a little.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide an honest review in return for a free digital copy of the book.
