Laurel and Zach have been praying for a baby for years. They have moved in with Laurel's grandmother, Helen, who just can't stay alone anymore. Of course, it is just weeks before Christmas and a busy time for both Laurel and Zach. They contact a home-care organization and Mrs Miracle shows up on their doorstep. Mrs Miracle really IS a miracle for Helen. She also helps pave the way for the Christmas surprise that is awaiting Laurel and Zach. With the help of her friends, Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy, it really is a Miracle at Christmas.

This is just a perfect feel good Christmas story. I love how Debbie Macomber weaves in Faith and Biblical references in her stories. Yes, you know just how this story will end, but it is just heartwarming. I've read all of these Mrs and Mr Miracle books and I do hope she continues them. I'm thinking this would make a good TV Christmas special (hint, hint, Hallmark...). If you are a sappy Christmas story fan, this one is a must read.

Four out of Five stars for me. Thanks to Netgalley and Ballentine books for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Four stars: A simple, sweet feel good story that involves angels and Christmas magic.

It is December and Laurel is feeling overwhelmed. Her aging grandmother’s memory is declining, so much so that Laurel fears leaving her home alone. Yet, hiring someone to stay with her grandmother is going to be a stretch on the budget. Laurel and her husband, Zach, depleted their savings on infertility treatments to no avail. Now with no baby and an aging grandmother, Laurel’s hopes are dying. She has given up on a baby, especially after their foster baby was taken from them. Warily, Laurel makes a call to a local care organization, only to be told they don’t have any caregivers available at the moment. Laurel is completely surprised when later that evening their doorbell rings. Mrs. Miracle is at the door sent over from the care organization. She is available and her rates are reasonable. Soon, Mrs. Miracle has worked miracles. Helen is feeling so much better, and she isn’t as forgetful. She even promises Helen a Christmas miracle for Laurel. In the meantime, Laurel has given up all hope of a baby, but Zach is receiving some mysterious signs. Will a miracle be in store to renew Laurel’s hope?
What I Liked:
*This book reads just like a Hallmark Christmas movie, but that is okay because there is a lot to like. This is a sweet, simple story about an angel who delivers some Christmas magic and a miracle or two to a young couple and an aging grandmother. This is packed full of holiday goodness as well as hopeful and happy. Just right.
*Mrs. Miracle, an angel, arrives on the doorstep of a young couple who are in need of some help. I loved Mrs. Miracle. She is just what you would expect in an angel on earth. She is kind, wise and friendly as well as companionable. She brings help and hope to the family in their time of need.
*I adored Helen. She is an elderly woman with mild dementia who quickly accepts what most people would believe to be impossible. I loved Helen’s sense of wonder and her childlike joy. She is sweet and charming.
*I loved all the holiday cheer packed in this one. Think Christmas tree decorating, Christmas cookie making, holiday programs and angel choirs as well as a Christmas miracle or two. It loved all the uplifting holiday stuff.
*Even though this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I had no trouble jumping in without having read the preceding novels. It is a complete story on its own.
*The book has a lovely ending. It builds to that magical moment and then jumps into the future. It was delightful to see how things fared a few years down the road. I love when you get a good epilogue.
And The Not So Much:
*This book is totally predictable. The reader can guess going in what is going to happen. No big surprises, but that’s okay, sometimes predictable happy endings are just what you need.
*I struggled a bit with Laurel’s character. I can understand her bitter disappointment, but I didn’t like the way she lashed out at Zach. I am glad she comes around, but her negativity puts a damper on this charming book.

A Mrs. Miracle Christmas is predictable holiday book that reads like a Hallmark movie, in fact, I am certain it will likely be made into a movie. Even though it is entirely predictable, it is a simple, feel good read with angels, miracles and Christmas magic and lots of holiday cheer. The perfect happy, cozy read for the holiday season.

Delightful holiday romance. The setting is inviting and the characters are very loveable. While the plot is somewhat predictable, as are most holiday romances, it in no way detracts from the enjoyment of the book. Debbie Macomber is a wonderful storyteller and this book is a delightful addition to her Mrs. Miracle series.

A Mrs Miracle Christmas is one of those holiday novels that are a "Must Read"!
Macomber does it again. This holiday novel begins with McCullough wishing she could receive some good news. Nothing seems to be going right for her and her husband Zach. Still no baby in the horizon and now they have moved in with her grandmother who needs help.

When of course who shows up but Mrs. Miracle. As Christmas nears, Mrs. Miracle does her magic.
This ARC was provided to me for free in exchange for my honest opinion. So, I must say if you love Hallmark movies, then this is one for the books and a must read any time of the year.

Debbie Macomber pens Christmas romances like no other!

A Mrs. Miracle Christmas story is a tender, sweet, sad, funny and delightful. The people, towns and places she creates in her stories are so realistic that when I get to the end I know I will miss them all and can’t wait to revisit them again and again!

If you love Christmas, romance and a great story then A Mrs. Miracle Christmas by Debbie Macomber is just perfect for you any time of the year!

Debbie Macomber's "A Mrs. Miracle Christmas" was a short, sweet novel that is sure to put readers in the Christmas spirit. It is more overtly Christian than most of the other Macomber books I've read to date, and given the nature of some of the story elements, readers must be willing to believe in both the power of prayer and the magic of Christmas. If it proves impossible to do that, readers may find this story difficult to enjoy.

The book focuses on married couple Laurel and Zach, who live with and care for Laurel's elderly grandmother, Helen. Laurel and Zach have struggled with infertility for several years, and after an adoption fell through at the last minute, Laurel has given up on ever having a baby of her own to raise. Zach, however, wants to believe that there is still hope for them to have a family and, without Laurel's knowledge, has renewed their application with the adoption agency. Thanks to the timely intervention of Mrs. Miracle, a (slightly mischievous) angel who comes into their lives disguised as Helen's senior-care aide, it seems that Zach and Laurel will finally get their wish, but there are a few bumps along the way.

Zach and Laurel were a lovely couple and it was easy to root for them to get their wish for a family, but I was somewhat disappointed by the fact that they were so focused on adopting an infant and never considered taking in an older child. They were already approved to be foster parents, and so many older children need good homes, which Laurel and Zach were able to provide. In addition, given Laurel's own experiences with losing her mother at such a young age and having to move in with her grandparents, it seems like she would be able to relate really well to an older child. I think Laurel would have been able to offer a lot of support and guidance on topics such as dealing with the loss of a parent and starting over at a new school, and it's a shame that she and Zach completely ignored that opportunity.

In spite of that disappointment, I couldn't help but like this book. It's not the type of story I would normally pick up, but it was totally appropriate reading for Christmastime, and I did find it to be rather uplifting.

What an emotional, religious Christmas miracle! It really made me stop and think of the things that people overlook and take for granted. I loved this story that was geared at returning us, or helping us to keep, our faith. Book provided by NetGalley.

Fantastic holiday read! In true Debbie Macomber fashion, this festive read is fun and heart warming. It wouldn't be Christmas without reading one of her stories! Super sweet and lovely. Highly recommended.

This is part of the Mrs. Miracle series but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

I absolutely love Debbie Macomber books. Her Mrs. Miracle series is one of my absolute favorites to read over the Christmas holiday. This new addition did not disappoint. It was everything that I had hoped for and more.

I loved the characters (Helen, Zach, and Laurel). They all won my heart and the addition of Mrs. Miracle truly creates a cozy and heartwarming Christmas novel.

If you love Christmas novels as much as I do, this is a must-read!

Sweet and predictable, but just right if you like to get in the mood for the season with something sweet and sappy. A good Christmas story. Really puts you in mind of this holy season.

I have always enjoyed books by Debbie Macomber. This book was difficult for me because it deals with infertility plus some of the emotional issues involved and a couple of times I wasn’t sure I could finish it. Although I shed a good many tears along the way, I did finish the book. I found Laurel and Zach to be well written characters. Helen, Laurel’s grandmother, is a wonderful character dealing with issues of her own. Mrs Miracle and her friends are quite angelic but with a small side of mischief for the right reason. I’m a sucker for a happy ending but you know from the start that this book is going to have one. I didn’t find any surprises in the plot. The writing is superb as always.

A wonderful feel-good Christmas story - a perfect read for the December month! It felt much like a Hallmark movie. Predictable, kinda cheesy, but all still wonderful at the same time.

Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC copy!

Easily read in one sitting, this is a joyous, heartwarming holiday story. Macomber brings back a favorite character, Mrs. Miracle, to return faith through the spirit of the holiday to Laurel, Zach and her grandmother Helen.

This book was absolutely excellent, and so well written. It filled me with joy, hope, love, and the belief in angels. It was an excellent Christmas story that the author made come alive. I read it quickly and did not want it to end. If you read only one Christmas book this season, I highly recommend this one! .

This is a "feel good" type Christmas book that just was not for me. I had issues with the overall "angel" Mrs. Miracle showing up.... Helen's dementia just magically disappears and isn't evident after Mrs. Miracle shows up. Laurel goes from being so angry at Zach and making him leave the house while tells him to leave her. But the next day after he shows up at the school play everything is right again? I've read other Debbie Macomber books, but this one just seemed over the top with the prayer/angel/heaven themes that (for me) was a little over the top and excessive at times. But I'm sure other people would love that aspect of it. I feel like this should be one of those super sappy Hallmark Christmas movies.

It's not Christmas without Mrs Miracle, at least for me, so this was one of the very first books I picked up for the season. So so so loved it. I love me a good romance, but I also enjoy seeing established couples work through challenges and come out stronger, and this one really rang those bells for me. Loved it!
