I was excited to read this based on the description, but it fell a little flat for me. I did like the main characters, but didn't feel connected to the others. It was pretty silly at times. Overall just okay for me.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review.

This is the first book in a new series from this talented author, and what an amazing beginning this is!! Kira and her besties’ Miranda and Iris, made a fact years ago that they would never get involved with any of the King brothers’. Now the Kings have moved back into their hometown, and Rich is determined to convince Kira to take a chance on him. This is a well written story with witty banter throughout, and is filled with drama and is a humorous, steamy and entertaining read. I highly recommend for all, and look forward to reading more in this enticing series.

I've found after reading several of Penelope Bloom's books that I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy them. They border the line between laugh out loud funny and over the top. They are original, but at times campy and far-fetched. Sometimes, the moods strikes me for silly, but fun writing and I can enjoy it, but here I had a hard time with adult characters hanging on to their childhood selves.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Don't be fooled by the cover, to my surprise, it’s a really light-hearted book.

If you are looking for a smutty read, this is NOT your book. If you are looking for a book where it’s mainly about the main couple, this is NOT your book. This is the first book in the series and I think the author used this book as building block for the rest of the series.

romantic comedy with a touch of allusion and hyperbole, “Anyone But Rich” has so many laugh out loud funny moments that quite frankly I won’t be surprised if Saturday Night Life decide to pick up lines from it.

It’s the story of three brothers – Richard, Cade and Nick - from a small town but they came from old money. After they left, they made more money than what was in their trust funds. To the surprise of many, they decided to go back to their hometown, which irked the hell of out three women whom they left behind.

Kira, Miranda and Iris have a history with the King brothers. They left them in their wake, creating havoc to their lives. It might have been seven years ago, but they have not recovered, especially Kira who was just barely making it.

Hence, when Richard King walked back into her life expecting to be forgiven then pick up where they left off, Kira was more than annoyed. She was ready to start World War III, except that her heart had gone pitter patter. She was falling for Richard and her friends had called her a traitor and her father was more than ready to disown her once again.

To reiterate, this is a rom-com and it is a given that there is a happily ever after. But, this is not your typical rom-com because there are dinosaur bones involved and a pesky helicopter ride (that’s one of the allusion portions). There was also stealing desserts from a party and a school play in the mix.

Hilarity is not just confined to the main characters. Even the supporting ones have their funny moments. They even play the straight man at times. Nevertheless, “Anyone But Rich” is a story that will tickle your funny bone, no matter what.

“Anyone But Rich” is Rated T for Teens due to some adult situations and some sexual content.

I really enjoyed this story. I'm not a big fan of previous relationships from the past, but this one is written very well . I'm very interested in reading the rest of the series! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review it!

This was book was a great start to a new series. Penelope Bloom is a new to me author and I will be going back and reading more of her work.

Kira and her friends made a promise to never date a King brother. She is getting ready to start her first year of teaching at the same high school she went to. She didn’t expect to see Richard King at her classroom door on the first day of school.

Richard King and his brothers have returned to set up the headquarters of their company. He comes back to town with a woman who is a pretending to be his girlfriend. He can’t seem to get Kira off his mind.

I really enjoyed Rich and Kira’s story. The characters and secondary ones made this book a page turner. If you’re looking for a quick read grab this one. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I was excited to read this based on the blurb. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me and I found myself skimming. The humor leaned more towards silly. I did like Kira and Rich. I didn’t really like the others, so I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the series.

This is the first in a trilogy (at least) where three best friends who have each been burned by one of the King brothers promise to never succumb to their charms again. Obviously that is exactly what will happen, but enjoying the journey is very much the point - and I did.

As the scene is set, the obscenely old monied Kings and the rest of the town are not expected to ever spend time together. Rich, Cade and Nick have come back to their home town to build their new HQ and their billions make them both old and new money. But they are back due to the three women who got away. Rich is first up and he comes back to town with a girlfriend, Stella, who is just as much in the ruse as the brothers.

But Kira, Miranda and Iris really are still wedded to the idea of the promise of staying away, and as Kira starts to fold, there is trouble in their friendship. I wasn't entirely convinced they would behave that way now that they are adults with careers, and in fact I was pleased with how that was resolved.

I enjoyed how the book pokes fun at the crazy behaviour of the super rich and entitled, but also shows that redemption is possible - especially for the right woman.

First time reading this author and I enjoyed this book. Was not at all what I expected to read but I did enjoy it. I will check out other books from her because I am curious to see what else she has written.

This was a really fun read and a great starter for this series about the King brothers and the girls they wronged in high school. The characters were very likable although the girls could be frustrating, it had some steamy scenes and some comedic moments. Overall I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read about the next brother!

This is the perfect series starter! I read it in one sitting and cannot wait to see what happens next in the next book of the series!

You know when the guy you had a crush on in high school comes back to town, but now he and his brothers are hot tech billionaires, and he’s trying really hard to date you and seems like he’s a genuinely decent person, just one with a private jet and a helicopter? No? Then you may not relate to Rich and Kira’s story, but you’ll probably enjoy reading it anyway. (Even if the hero is literally named Rich King. Rich. King. Get it?)

This book has some plot and character issues, but definitely had a few moments of greatness. There were some laugh-out-loud scenes, and the series has potential. I’m going on to read about the next brother now.

When 3 best friends swear to never date a King brother again they hold onto the promise and embrace the hate for the rest of high school and the next 7 years. The King Brothers head off to college and start their own business becoming billionaires living in CA. Then after 7 years they come home to their home town. Let the cringe worthy, embarrassing, comedy of errors begin, along with conniving, underhanded snobby actions by the parents. The Kings are still piper sexy and hard to ignore. What a fun read with great characters. I can’t wait to read the rest of the King brother stories!

Rich King, one of three brothers of the King family is more of a straight laced guy. However, Rich has a twin brother Cade who is quite a bit more immature than him and he is the one that cracks a lot of the jokes. So it fits in with his character perfectly. I was laughing out loud throughout the book.

Kira Summerland is a school teacher that has a history with Rich. She knew him in high school and had a crush on him, but dated his younger brother Nick. Rich did something that screwed her over and she has hated him ever since, but all three Kings moved away, and Kira along with her two friends made a pact to never date a King again. So when the King brothers return to town to put their Company Headquarters nearby and Rich pursues her, the pact becomes a problem.

This is a brilliant fun read that you will love.
Kira is getting on with her life as best she can in her small home town with her two best friends. She is shocked to hear that her nemesis from high school is back and is now a billionaire.
Can Rich get Kira to accept his apology after he ruined her life before he left as he wants so much more from her.
I loved their chemistry even though she keeps denying her feelings for him.
Their relationship has so many ups and downs and his parents are trying to keep them apart.
Full of fun, drama and emotion.
I can't wait to read Cade and Nick's books. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Unfortunately this was a DNF at about 25%. I struggled to connect with the two main characters--they came across as immature and petty to me.

I have read previous books by Penelope Bloom, and I enjoyed this book as much as I did the others, which I liked a lot. This book is about Rich and Kira, who were enemies as children, but when they meet again as adults their relationship grows despite Kira having made a pact with her friends many years before to never speak to him again.

This book is witty and charming, and funny in places. There are other characters too, who add to the warmth of the world that the author has created. This is a complete story, with no cliffhangers, written in dual pov style between the two main protagonists.

I loved the sound of the blurb and I was very excited to read it. Unfortunately, the plot dragged and the characters were lackluster. The romance had no real spark for me and I struggled to finish this.

Another hit from Penelope Bloom. I love that this story was laced with humor I am always excited to read he new books. The king brother were ladies men and broke gets along the way. Myra and her friends make a Pac to never give them their time.
I've just finished this book and I really do have a smile on my face.. The King Brothers are so different and you fall in love with all of them. I can't wait for Cade and Nicks` stories.
