Anyone But Rich by Penelope Bloom is the first book in the Anyone But series. This fun, sexy, and hilarious romance story has a great mix of humor, a bit of angst, drama, blackmail, forgiveness, suspense, and meddling parents.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Anyone But Rich
by Penelope Bloom

As a brilliant writer Penelope Bloom has created a new niche in Romance with her unique brand of humor. It’s Rom-com in a book!

Anyone but Rich, is the first in a new trilogy dealing with the King brothers. We meet Rich, Cade and Nick as they come home after being gone for several years. While gone they made their mark on the Silicon Valley, are mega rich, gorgeous and famous. But, they want to head back to their roots.

Back in West Valley, a small rural town in North Carolina 3 best friends Nicole, Miranda and Iris were once again making a pledge after the first one seven years ago, to not date a King. But, that’s easier said than done, because Rich is on the way to apologize for what he did seven years ago to Nicole. Along with that comes conspiracy’s, cover-ups, blackmail and the most hilarious bantering that will have you laughing out loud.

The storyline is well plotted, the suspense will hold you and you won’t be able to put the book down. Each character is defined and bring their own wackiness and unsuspected surprises. I absolutely enjoyed this book and look forward to the next two!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Kira Miranda and iris is best friend in school. They all have seacret crunch of the Kings brothers. Kira even dated one of them to get another brother Rich to notice her but without any luck. The three made a deal to never get involved with the brother's agin. Seven years later the brother's are back in town they are billionaires and very powerful. Rich haven't forgotten Kira and he wants her but she is not interested or is she ? And his parents does not approve kira. Is there hope for the two of them or is he two late. Anyone But Rich is the first book in a new series by Penelope Bloom. Bloom has written many other books, but this was the first I had read by her. The publisher marketing calls it "romantic, sexy, and hilarious" and Bloom did not disappoint. I loved the King brothers. They are quirky and full of personality and the scenes with Rich and his twin were hilarious. The writing was well done and the story line was interesting. The only thing I didn't like was Iris. She was the epitome of a bad friend. I didn't like the way she disrespected Miranda and Kira throughout the book and I didn't find any redeeming qualities in her character even at the end. As we say in the south, that girl needs a "come to Jesus meeting". I know that she will end up with her own book and I hope that it reveals more about her attitude and gives her some redeeming qualities. Other than Iris's character, I enjoyed the book and recommend it to readers who like a little bit of quirky fun included in their billionaire romance.

This book has all the elements of a must read romance novel, but the book just didn't turn out for my interest... Second Chances, Family Drama, Bribes, Billionaires, Wealth, and Breaking a Best Friends Pact = it should be an exceptional read, BUT the rodent sweater hobby, dinosaur bone collector, and the strange bickering between the brothers and friends just left me feeling odd and not getting it. I did read the book from cover to cover and it did keep my interest as I was curious how the plot was going to unfold. There is not a cliff hanger ending being a part of a book series and I am curious enough to pick up the next book in this series.

In the end, I just didn't fall in love with the characters. I feel like being a second chance romance with this hatred that happened in high school -- I am still unsure why Kira hated Rich from high school when she didn't even date him. I feel like maybe some added flashbacks to get the feeling of how they felt about each other in high school would have made the story come to life for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I loved the crazy antics of Kira , Iris and Miranda. They had each other’s support with every challenge life threw at them.
The King brothers Rich, Cade and Nick have charmed lives but they work hard at everything to succeed. These brothers cracked me up! Each one is swoon worthy gorgeous.
I loved the chemistry of Rich and Kira. This is a fun steamy start to this series and I can’t wait to read the other stories.

Absolutely hilarious, I was laughing so hard into the third chapter and reading outloud to my husband because I couldn't contain it. The characters are amazing, the back and forth commentary sucks you in, these people could very well be real and be in your home town. There was just enough drama to peak the interest and romance abundance. Do you ever really forget your first major crush and let love soar. I so cant wait for more of these brothers and best friends, will something blow up this time?

Anyone But Rich is a fabulously funny, lighthearted, second chance romance.

Kira, along with her two best friends Iris and Miranda are shocked to hear that the King brothers are returning to town 7 years after they made a pact to have absolutely nothing to do with them. Each of them have some kind of tumultuous history with one of the brothers and they are prepared to uphold their old promise and remain steadfast in their avoidance of the handsome, billionaire brothers but Rich King has other plans! He wants to clear the air with Kira, apologise and put the past behind them. Kira makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with him but Rich is determined to show he's not the same boy that left 7 years ago. Can Kira allow herself a chance with Rich or will she be betraying her friends and the pact? Is Rich in the right place to pursue a relationship with Kira when his stuffy, manipulative parents want him to marry another woman? Will he committ to his obligation with Stella and ensure his new business headquarters opens without interference or will he outwit his parents and get the woman he wants after all??

A great read made all the more enjoyable by the secondary characters. Cade and the way his mind works is hilarious and I look forward to his story with Iris who is equally as nutty! I'm also intrigued to learn the history between Nick and Miranda who were possibly the closest in the past before it all went awry. This was my first time reading anything by Penelope Bloom and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend and I eagerly await the next book which I hope is Cade's!

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read this book.

Anyone But Rich by Penelope Bloom a four-star read that blooms between the pages. Most of the time this deserves five-stars but then in a couple it only deserves at most three, so I went for four overall. I am eagerly awaiting number two in the anyone but series as I am hoping that that one will have more five-star moments, and I adored both of Kira’s best friends Miranda and Iris along with all three King brothers, they all made this a great story, even some of the others like the parents, they added much mirth to the story, but there were just a couple of bots I got frustrated at reading and was like eugghh how much more. But then a few pages later I was hooked again, its that type of story. This has all the bones of being a great series.

I voluntarily received a copy of this for an honest review by NetGalley.

This was hysterical. I started laughing on the first chapter and I think I continued until the very end. Some parts were so funny I literally had to stop and catch my breath. The love story that is included in the humor is really sweet and sincere. I fell in love with the characters right away. Especially the brother and best friends, honestly they made the book for delightful. I want to read the brothers and friends stories too.

If you love rom-com’s you will definitely enjoy this read.

A hilarious tale of second chances between two people who barely had a first chance. After her high school crush destroyed her future, the last person she wants to see turn up in town many years later is that crush. Of course he is a successful billionaire businessman (along with his brothers,) and there's no way to avoid them. Worse yet, he's even hotter than he was back then. A fun filled ride with plenty of crazy characters and crazier blunders (too bad she can't edit the blooper reel out.) There is some angst as she tries to avoid her feelings for the man who is supposed to be the enemy, and for him as he tries to win her back. It's a primarily an upbeat book, though there are a few characters who try to be downers. The side characters bring even more laughs... and sometimes steal the scene (thankfully, we can expect more books featuring these folks.) It alternates POVs. There is some sexual content, but it's not a major component of the book. It's easy to read and the story flows smoothly.

Anyone but RICH is so hilarious!!!

This is Kira’s and Rich’s story and it is so funny and cute you can’t help but love them both.
Kira is determined to keep her promise and not let her best friends down. Rich is stubborn and likes the challenge Kira is giving him. At first he tells himself he needs to apologize to her and he never expected her to blatantly refuse his I’m sorry speech. But as she continues to get in his head he can’t help but be honest with his self.... he wants her, now he just has to figure out how to get her.

Kira’s friends are the best and Rich’s brothers are so funny. When you read this you will finish it determined to read the next book in line and also angry you can’t and you have to wait. I read this in a short period of time cause I could not put in down. I secretly wish I would have dragged it on a little bit longer cause it was just that good!!

This was a pretty good start to a series. It focuses on three brothers and three women that each brother has a past with. This is rich and Kira’s story. I look forward to reading the next. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

Anyone But Rich was a two-day read for me that I loved! But I was so close to giving it four stars because of the promise that Kira, Iris, and Miranda made with each other. Going into the book, I knew that the promise would be an obstacle somehow, but even when I expected that, it was still slightly frustrating in the beginning.

The promise would always get in the way. Despite how Kira felt about Rich, she kept reminding herself over and over that she still had the promise to keep and couldn’t be with Rich. This went on for about 100 pages, but once the issue of the promise was settled between Kira and her friends, the book got SO much better! And it’s settled in the most hilarious way ever.

I didn’t always enjoy the humor used (mostly, Cade’s), but this was a book that had me laughing so hard. *spoiler* That part when Kira punches Rich in the eye got a HUGE laugh from me! *spoiler* Rich’s parents were also pretty laughable with how hard they were pushing marriage on Rich and how much they cared about their image.

Aside from the parents, I loved every character and the romance! Rich and Kira were sexy and amazing together. The minor characters all had their moments. Stella’s flirting *spoiler* with Kira *spoiler* and Cade and Nick’s bickering had me howling! Even Iris and Miranda, who were both so hardcore about the promise, were great when the promise wasn’t as important anymore. We don’t get the full story for the four of them, but it’s revealed that Cade and Nick and Iris and Miranda have a bit of history with each other like Rich and Kira do, and I’m dying to find out more!

The next two books in the series will be for Rich’s brothers Cade and Nick, and I’ll definitely be reading them!

Anyone but RICH is so hilarious!!!
I literally was laughing out loud tell I had tears coming down my face! I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard with any other book and I’ve read a ton! Maybe I’m a weirdo and it wasn’t that funny to other people but it did it for me. I swear I will reread this book anytime I need a cheer me up!!! I’ve found a new favorite author I can not wait to read all the books in this series!! Penelope Bloom you nailed it!!!

Kira and her two best friends made a promise to never ever EVER allow the three King brothers back in their life’s...no matter what!! They all had one they were crushing on but after all that happened in school they would swear to never break that promise even if one of those sexy brothers came begging on his knees. They all knew they each had a weakness to one of them and so they made a pack never thinking the Kings would make there way back to small town West Valley. Especially not after they made it big in California like BILLIONAIRE big.

Little did they know 7 years later those men came marching into town and had everyone swooning and gossiping about them.

This is Kira’s and Rich’s story and it is so funny and cute you can’t help but love them both.
Kira is determined to keep her promise and not let her best friends down. Rich is stubborn and likes the challenge Kira is giving him. Anyone But Rich is the first book I have read by author Penelope Bloom.

Three best friends make a pact to never date any of the King Brothers—a trio of extremely handsome now-billionaires. Seven years later, the King Brothers return home and the devilishly gorgeous and cocky Richard King is determined to earn back Kira Summerland’s forgiveness. With a jawline as sexy as his, it’s no wonder Kira is struggling to keep her promise to Miranda and Iris.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read with quick character connections. I will definitely pick up more books from this author.

Richard King humiliated Kiara in high school. After that day she made a pact with her two best friends to never give the King brothers the time of day, no matter what. Luckily for Kiara, Richard and his brothers moved out of state after graduation, unluckily, they're back, rich and as handsome as ever. Richard still caries the guilt of that day with him, all he needs to do is make a quick stop to apologize, it couldn't be simpler. What he's not expecting is Kiara to reject his apology. Now all he has to do is figure out how to get her to forgive him.

Anyone But Rich was the quick hilarious read I've come to expect and enjoy from Penelope Bloom. The conflict is light, the characters are funny, and the banter is great. While I did enjoy Rich and Kiara's relationship, I'm really looking forward to Cade's book and the mayhem he causes. This is a great book to squeeze in between heavier reads.
