I loved this a really addictive read, fast, fun and flirty. You go on a rollercoaster with Kira falling for Rich, but irritated with him too and Penelope writes the characters that well. You want them together but you want him to suffer a little too. Great book, look forward to the next

I really enjoyed this book. While it wasn’t a difficult read at all, it did provide me a nice break from all of the thrillers that I’ve been reading lately.

The plot line was also very common for this type of novel.

If you’re looking for an easy read and pretty much what you’re going to get into when you pick it up, I’d definitely recommend it.

I enjoy reading this author's works. The sense of humor these characters have is amazing. I absolutely loved the straight-woman, Stella. Rich and Kira knew one another back in high school. He and his two brothers were the big men on campus, getting any girl they wanted, it seemed. Kira an her two besties were the exception. The trio hated the King boys and swore to never have anything to do with them. I'm not going to give anymore of this book away, but take it from me, grab this one and dive in. I can not wait to see what happens between Cade and Iris in the next book.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the first in a trilogy (at least) where three best friends who have each been burned by one of the King brothers promise to never succumb to their charms again. Obviously, that is exactly what will happen, but enjoying the journey is very much the point – and I did.

As the scene is set, the obscenely old monied Kings and the rest of the town are not expected to ever spend time together. Rich, Cade, and Nick have come back to their hometown to build their new HQ and their billions make them both old and new money. But they are back due to the three women who got away. Rich is first up and he comes back to town with a girlfriend, Stella, who is just as much in the ruse as the brothers.

But Kira, Miranda, and Iris really are still wedded to the idea of the promise of staying away, and as Kira starts to fold, there is trouble in their friendship. I wasn't entirely convinced they would behave that way now that they are adults with careers, and in fact, I was pleased with how that was resolved.

I enjoyed how the book pokes fun at the crazy behaviour of the super rich and entitled, but also shows that redemption is possible – especially for the right woman.

Kira Summerland and her friends made a vow long ago to never get involved with the King men, and now that they're back in town, their past agreement seems to be more important then ever. The Kings once almost ended their friendship, and Kira's future in one fell swoop... and learning that lesson once was more than enough.

With his return to the town where he grew up, Richard King has some unfinished business to attend to... namely finding Kira and apologizing to her for their mistakes back in high school. But Kira wants nothing to do with him, and somehow he finds that makes him want her all the more...

Anyone But Rich was an entertaining read which introduced a family of fascinating characters and the women they love to argue with. Kira and Rich once shared a mutual attraction that combusted long ago, but upon his return, these two former foes are about to get a whole lot closer than anyone in the vicinity approves of...

I really liked Kira, she was honest and sweet, and really tried her hardest to avoid all things Rich King. I also couldn't get enough of the banter that she always had at the ready when it came to the King family.

Rich is from a... you guessed it... super rich family. But, the trappings of having all the money in the world have started to interest Rich less and less. When he is reunited with Kira, he can see a woman who is exactly what he needs, and desperately wants.

This book was seriously funny! I loved the plot and (for the most part) the characters. I did feel like the story had a tendency to move slowly and focus on more of the mundane aspects of the relationship, but all in all this was a very enjoyable read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

Friends Miranda, Iris and Kira made a promise to each other to never date a King. Rich, Cade and Nick King that is.

This is Kira and Rich’s story. It was a little drawn out and I skipped some parts when they were dragging, but what I loved most was the banter between the brothers. There were some really funny laugh out loud parts.
Can’t wait for Cades and Nicks books!

I received this ebook copy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A fun second chance romance read! This newest release was enjoyable from the start and got sweeter as Rich try to reconnect with Kira. But when their family finds way to ruin their reunion will they be able to find their HEA. Likable characters, easy to read, and an entertaining storyline made this one to read. I can’t wait for the next story in this series that doesn’t disappoint.

Anyone But Rich by Penelope Bloom is the First book in the Anyone But ...Series. This is the story of Kira Summerland and Richard "Rich "King.
Kira has a history with Rich when they were in High School when he betrayed her which set her up to form with her friends Iris and Miranda to swear that they would never date the King Brothers. The King Brothers were the it boys in High School that went on the money and fame. Now in their present day Kira has taken a job teaching in her hometown high school. Rich is back looking to right the wrong and maybe even win the heroine.
I enjoyed their story, of course it was steamy but has some funny parts. I excited to read Cade and Nathan story too.

Perfect start for a new trilogy! It's hilarious especially the ending. It was just brilliant. Though I did want to punch the one or other character in a sisterly way. The storyline was clear and exiting and the characters hilariously weird. I mean who would have seen the dinosaur thing coming? Now that's what I call original! Although I did find her father's change of heart a bit sudden and unrealistic the other characters were very relatable and they all had their reasons for behaving the way they did.

A new to me author and a great book to start with.
I enjoyed this story because I love second chance romance and the main characters were interesting and easy to read.
It’s a fast paced story, with a lot of funny moments but I felt like there were also some unnecessary ones.
I loved the idea overall and how they got to let love overcome everything else in their lives.
Looking forward to the next books as the characters held my interest and I want to read their stories now.

It takes a lot of talent to be able to write a great romance, but it takes a creative genius to be able to add wit, banter, and a ton of humor and weave it all together! This was a fantastic read, and I can't wait for the next in the series!

Anyone But Rich is the first book in the Anyone But... series. Seven years ago, Kira made a promise with her two best friends to always avoid the King brothers, but now Rich is back in town and invading her life. With everything against them, but her heart screaming to give him a chance, is this couple doomed before they even begin?

Wow... this book was amazing! It has everything a good romantic comedy should have, and Kira and Rich stole my attention and love! Kira is small town, a humble teacher, has a mayor for a father, but tries to do as much as she can on her own merits. Rich is just that, rich from both old and new money, has terrible parents and hilarious brothers, has a huge sense of responsibility and is completely driven. I love that Kira and Rich are so different, but once they’re together, they fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. I love that Kira didn’t just forgive Rich right away, but called him out on his crap, just like he called her out on her little insecurities. They complimented each other really well once they could get past their past. I loved that this book didn’t flash back to their high school years (except the prologue) and just focused on the now - the trials, the triumphs, and the delightful tensions between them all! This book wasn’t over the top with steam, but there’s a lot of character development, connection building, and when the steam showed up, it was perfect and romantic, too! While I didn’t often laugh out loud at scenes in this book, I definitely found the humor! I also loved all of the side characters, they were completely fabulous, and I look forward to seeing how they might fit in with future books and relationships! I have a feeling this series is just going to be amazing!

Kira Summerland has every reason to hate Rich King. Now, that Rich King is back in town things don't go as planned for Kira. Kira's job as a high school teacher is keeping her pretty busy. Rich King showing up to apologize doesn't help either. Rich King had it all planned out yet nothing is going his way. Will Kira accept Rich King's apology? Will Kira admit her feelings for Rich? Will Rich get what he wants? Your answers await you in Anyone But Rich.

This new series by my favorite author Penelope Bloom has the right mix of heartache and laughter. Her characters are real, honest, raw, unique, complex, and complicated too. I can't wait to see what she does next in this series.

Penelope Bloom writes another fantastic book with Anyone But Rich! As a huge fan of Penelope Bloom, I was so excited to be able to read this new book in her new series about three friends from high school who make a pact to never date the King Brothers. These boys were picked to have it all in high school- the money, the good looks, and the best of everything including women. So of course when they left town after high school they thought they’d never hear from the King Brothers who broke each of their hearts. Until one day they realize that the big construction project that had been going on is to build the King Brother’s next big corporate building and now all three women are going to be facing their enemies. Rich King is the first one who is in this book and he knows the woman he wants to right his wrong with. He is wanting to make amends and doesn’t care about what others think. His parents don’t want him with a towny and they want him to be with a woman from a family that comes from money. But the woman he has been dating has her own secrets too and he has been helping her. There are so many twists and turns in this book. It’s funny, suspenseful and sexy. A must read!!

Quick, funny read

I go back and forth with whether I like the genre or not? There always seems to be so much consistent formula and theme to them. The things that make them different are the players and this one has some characters.

Kira is quite quirky (her hobbies alone?!?!). Still not sure exactly what drama took place in high school to create the present situation. It is highly glossed over.

The men are good, in that, they do paint a picture as three distinct characters. Rich is your typical “won’t take no for an answer, wear you down” type of guy. I admit it that I loved this character when I was younger and read things like Twilight but I’m over all that drama now. Cade was a trip. There is a bit of immaturity to these savvy businessmen but it made for fast and funny dialogue.

This is a quick read. It times it was quite amusing. I did feel the need to see it through and it was a nice break from the constant thrillers I have been reading. Will I continue in the series? Probably because the writing and dialogue elevated this one and I’m curious how the characters will evolve.
