This was a entertaining book at its best, predictable but super fun. I like Kira and Rich’s characters aswell as the side characters that provided comic relief. I laughed a lot, the dialogues were super witty and well-thought.

It’s an enemies to lover, opposites attract situation.

I’ll be reading more of Penelope Bloom for sure!

Loved reading the awesome and humorous romance story. When Richard King comes back to his hometown, he wants to make things right with the girl he hurt years ago, Kira. Kira, who made a pact with her two best friends, doesn't want anything to do with Rich. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read love story.

3.5 stars for me

This was my first read from this author and I enjoyed it. Kira and Rich's story had plenty of LOL moments and the cast of supporting characters were great. I would have liked to connect with the two lead characters a little more but overall it was a well paced read and I LOVED the female friendships in this one. Added to the story's richness.

This story had so many great parts, I loved the romance and friendship that showed faults and how to overcome them. The story had a small suspense plot line that made you wonder how they would work things out, and overall this story felt real and fiction at the same time. Kira and Rich had such a good romance, but I have to say I'm looking forward to the next books just as much

What a great story. I hope (which I’m sure she will.. or she better anyway) give us the other brothers stories too. Cade and Iris are something else.. lol. I liked them almost as much as Rich and Kira and it wasn’t even their book. It was entertaining and engaging. Definitely would recommend.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book, it put a smile on my face. We start with three teenagers making a promise to never have a relationship with one of the King brothers ever again, regardless if they are rich or famous. They agree. Seven years later they are put to the test, never imagining that the King brothers are exactly that Rich and famous and still heartbreakingly gorgeous. And my friends when the King brothers come back to town is where the fun begins. I was a little scared when I started reading because Rich kept saying he messed up on her and my mind immediately thought of the worst and I was thinking "oh hell no" I wouldn't forgive him, but then when it was revealed, yes it was bad but not what I thought..These people were great..and I honestly can't wait for Cade and Iris's story!

⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

Funny, quirky and crazy. While I enjoyed most of this story, it was just to boring sometimes. Super successful King siblings left West Valley, their small town in North Carolina to start their own business in California, now 7 yrs later they’re returning home billionaires and are about to crash into town with all their snobbery… Babur for Rich Ling his business is just part of returning home, he has his sights on Kira Summerland.

Kira and her friends Miranda and Iris were all burnt by the King siblings and have an amusing pact yo never date or sleep with any of the Family, but now they’re back in town and the pact gets a little dirty.

Despite his relationship set up Rich has his eyes on Kira & he won’t stop to win her over and back into his life. But with horrible parents and friends their forever looks permanently doomed. All bets are off and let the best man win…

This was an okay book overall. Not really my style but I was entertained while reading it. The romance was fun and there was plenty of drama which was actually fun to read.

Other than that, though, there wasn't anything much going on. This was good for what it was, a quick fun read.

I really did enjoy this book all though it was predictable. I liked how Rich would do anything too win Kira back. Cade was absolutely hilarious. I can’t wait too read Cade and Nick’s story next.

I received this book from netgalley.com for a fair review. According to amazon.com, this book is set to be released this year on September 3rd, 2019.

I would categorize this book as a modern-day billionaire romance. This follows Kira who made a pact with her friends to never, EVER, ever date one of the Kings. But Kira's interest is piqued when Rich, the oldest of the King brother's comes back to town seven years later. Kira then has to choose between her friends or a blossoming interest in Rich who was an old high school crush.

At first, I had trouble getting into this book because there was a lot of backstories and characters you're introduced to quickly. But notwithstanding, after I was able to differentiate the characters I enjoyed the ongoing dynamics throughout the book. By the end, I was able to appreciate the entire plot of the book. I had a lot of out-loud laughs!

My assumption is this will lead into a series about the other King brothers. Which if it does, I definitely would purchase. I would rate this a 4 out of 5.

The usual girl and boy crushed on each other at school and then moved away, went to college/uni and became something. To come back together for love.

He ends up a billionaire business man with his brothers and from an old money family. Her dad is the town major and uses her as a campaign fodder.

The things their families do to keep them apart, for money and status is beyond the realms of normal but happens.

A good solid read if not a little easy to guess the ending. Easy reading

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. I’ve definitely come to love and look forward to the stories Penelope writes that can be read by themselves or as a series. I love series because you get to know the characters and want to know their story. Kira and her 2 friends made a promise to never, ever have anything to do with the King brothers. The promise is easy to keep when they live across the country, but when they move home Kira is having a hard time staying true. Rich King always has a thing for Kira but felt she wasn’t interested in him and then he went a ruined her chance at a scholarship which begins the grudge. Rich has come to realize that he agreed to building another location for the company in their home town because of Kira. Unfortunately, Kira isn’t a part of the plans Rich’s parents have for him and they proceed to make Rich and Kira’s lives miserable. Fake engagement, best friend pacts, attraction, humor and family fighting round of this first book in the King brothers trilogy. Two thumbs up!

This is a light heart and very funny read.
Kira and her two best friends made a pack when
Rich made a fool out of Kira .
This is a second chance read so to find out how things
workout for the pair you going to have to read it yourself.
All I can say is you will be left with a smile on your face.

Kira and her two best friends made a promise in high school when it comes to the King brothers, no one can date them or have anything to do with them. That was a pretty easy promise to keep since the brothers left town right after high school. Now, seven years later and they are back in town. Will the pact still stand or will one of them give in? I really enjoyed this book and all the characters. It is a funny and entertaining read and I definitely recommend reading it.

I love the writing of Penelope Bloom. This book is no exception. Mir, Iris, a d Miranda have been friends since school, and as young adults, they promise to stay clear of the King brothers. Seven years later, the King brothers one back to their hometown, and the girls are reminded of their promise. But love has found a way. This book was funny, sad, sarcastic and full of love. I absolutely loved the ending.

3.5*

This was one of those books where you know how it was going to end but the journey to get there was entertaining. Kira and her friends have made a pact to not date the King brothers, seven years later the brothers return and Kira has trouble sticking to her promise. Rich and Kira were sweet together and she never stood a chance. Rich's brother Cade was hilarious and I can't wait to read his book. Kira's best friends were also entertaining. The parents in this book left a lot to be desired and it was satisfying that Rich's parents did not get their way.

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy.

This is the first book I have read from this author which I enjoyed.
From the beginning you could tell of the great friendship that Kira had with Iris and Miranda.
It was a quick read that had some really funny parts from the King Brothers which had me laughing out loud.

Overall a great read and I'm looking Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book. We meet Kira, Miranda and Iris who have been friends forever and made a pact in HS to never date the King brothers. These brothers will now be in their lives as they all 3 move back home and have kept lingering feelings for these ladies. This book focuses on the story of Kira and Rich, how he tries to apologies and insert himself in Kira's life. This book evolved nicely, I would have liked more details about the main issue and why the pact was made in the first place, but perhaps we'll get more information with the following books, as this book is part of an (hopefully ongoing) series. This was a quick and cute read.

This was my first Penelope Bloom book and I enjoyed it. I found myself laughing out loud at the King Brothers antics. I also found myself flipping the pages to get to the end.
It was very entertaining.

What happened in high school has lingered between Rich and Kira. Rich wants to apologize but Kira isn’t having it. But the more these two are together the more emotions are felt and these two end up falling in love. But there are some people who don’t want this couple together. But these two fight it out against the odds.

I’m looking forward to the other brothers books and can’t wait to see this gang all together again.
