In Skates Trouble is a must read for all lovers of sports romance and forbidden romance because this entertaining read has a bit of that as well.
Addison Williams is not looking for love or romance but when she comes across an eavesdropping hottie on the adjoining balcony she thinks let’s have some fun never thinking it would go any further than just a fun night of passion. She doesn’t even leave her name or number with the hockey hottie who had his wicked way with her....
Ford Callaghan can’t believe he let this woman walk away but he is determined to track her down even when he finds out she should be off limits.....
This book has so many different feels and it has a lot going for it, secret hook ups and stolen moments all add to the intrigue and the fact it has a older curvy woman as the heroine made this book real some how. This book has a couple with chemistry and a lot of swoon worthy moments as well as a plot to keep you interested. Great read.

Addison and Ford encounter each other in a hotel. They are on different balconies in the dark and share a moment. When they encounter each other again they have both figured out that Addison is the ex wife of Ford's boss and they try to fight their attraction to each other because their attraction might cost Ford his job and his hockey career dreams.

The characters were likeable and the story flowed well. It was a great introduction to the Chicago Rebels series..

A prequel to the Chicago Rebels series this is an entertaining short that sets the scene for the upcoming series.

I read this book previously as part of the Hot on Ice anthology so this was my second read through and I enjoyed it just as much. Addison and Ford have this explosive chemistry and rapport that are relationship goals IRL. And the way Ford is willing to put everything on the line proves he's got his priorities right where his woman is concerned. This is a short and romantic read for all those SportsRom lovers out there.

I really enjoyed this quick and sexy novella! Kate Meader can write Alpha Males so, so good and this one was perfect! For a novella, there was a ton of background information which was really helpful as the introduction to a new series. I need to read the rest of the series ASAP. Great story line and characters. Overall, it was a really great and easy read.

THE GUIDE TO ROMANCE NOVELS REVIEW

So I read this author before I started any blog, reviews and so forth so no not my first read by the author
but my first official review I guess!

So this is a PRE that's part of the Hot On Ice series and so I think I have read Book 2 already so coming back it brought back memories.
This is a sexy and steamy one guys, *fanning self* after accidentally overhearing a convo between three woman
while on his balcony, he can't seem to tear himself away.

Que in Addison Williams who is a full figure sexy woman but also a lingerie model, about to venture out on her own.
She craves to be independent and successful and being single is the best way, so she thinks.
The voice in the dark coming from the opposite side of her balcony has her coming alive,
opening up things she never knew even were in her.

This was a fun and sexy read, age gap where the hero is 6 years younger than the heroine, lot's of
adventures and passion. I rather enjoyed it and glad I got to read it, this entire series is
something else I tell you!

This book was so good. Ford was an amazing hero! He is an amazing book boyfriend. When he realized Addison was his hea he was all about finding a way for this to work. I’m so glad he listened to his heart and not his checkbook. Very well written and nothing bad to say about the entire series so far. I’ve read them all and have enjoyed each. Will post a more in-depth review on Amazon

I loved this novella! Like I couldn’t put it down!

Can you fall in love with someone by just talking and hearing their voice? Ford and Addison did. And what a steamy read. These two were HAWTTTTT! This book was spicy and watching Ford fall even further for Addison was entertaining.

A bit taboo(younger man/older woman)
Very entertaining.
Good solid characters.
Great story line.

Would recommend to any romance reader.

The story of Addison and Ford. When they first encounter each other they don't know the identity of the other. When they work it out and realise that her ex husbad is his boss, will there be a future for them?

A fun and entertaining read.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a fun start to this series and is the first chapter hot! Ford overhears a conversation and picks out one woman;s voice (Addy) and falls for her then. Addy has a lot of baggage from men who disrespect her so she is pretty cautious but when she meets Ford, she has a hard time staying away.

I love that we are introduced to Harper and the Chicago Rebel team before she and her sisters inherit the team - the lengths that both Ford and Addy are willing to go in order to help the other and show their love.

While I had read the series before, I must have missed this book and now want to read the whole series again!!

Well let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: Addison Williams isn't looking for romance, but when she encounters an eavesdropping stranger on an adjoining hotel balcony, she figures she's due a little fun. She just hadn't reckoned on the "fun" escalating so quickly to "out of control." One minute she's flirting with a whiskey-graveled voice in the dark, the next that same voice is telling her to do things. Hot, wicked things.

Cup-winning hockey player Ford "Killer" Callaghan can't believe he let the anonymous woman who blew his mind slip away into the night. He'll track her down because once could never be enough--even if discovering her identity places her strictly out of bounds.

Stolen kisses. Secret hook-ups. Deliciously forbidden in every way. Can a passion that started in the dark find a lifetime of love in the light?

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

I actually read this novella a few years ago but did not remember it until about halfway through. I understand that’s not a ringing endorsement.
For me, this novella was just extra info about a couple that appears in book 1. It wasn’t terrible but I don’t know that it was necessary either.
I will read other books by this author but this one was just meh for me.

This is the novella to get the Chicago Rebels series started. In it we meet Addison (Addy) Williams and Ford "Killer" Callaghan. Addy and Ford "meet" when he is sitting on an adjoining balcony and eavesdrops on a conversation she has with some of her friend's. After her friend's leave, he thinks everyone has left and goes to leave but finds out-she is still there. And this leads to an extremely hot encounter. This leads to what could be the start of a beautiful relationship. If they can manage to work beyond the person who may ruin it all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Addy and Ford are absolutely hot together and have the potential for so much. And reading about them trying to get to what they both want and need was great! Addy is this self aware and funny woman who doesn't put up with anything. Ford has so many personal issues with his family but he still manages to keep his sweet side, which I loved! The side characters are great as well and leave you wanting to know more about them and their lives. My only drawback was portions of the story felt rushed, which is usually a given in a novella unfortunately. But on a whole, it was still a great read and lead in to this series!

I gave this fun, off-the-charts sexy, highly entertaining novella a HUGE 5-Stars! This is book 0.5 in the Chicago Rebels series and it features the sexy, confident, hockey player Ford “Killer” Callahan and the sexy BBW model and entrepreneur, Addison Williams. Career suicide is falling for the boss’s ex-wife, right? These two have the most explosive chemistry! The first two chapters GUARANTEE that you read the rest of this book, if not the rest of this series! I feel like I wasn’t just reading their story. I felt like a voyeur watching this beautiful couple make magic together. OUTSTANDING!

Amazing characters and a fabulous story line. I just wish it were longer. I can’t wait to read the next book.

***I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Kate Meader Books and Kate Meader.***

I had just finished reading Good Guy, by Kate Meader, so when I saw her book In Skates Trouble was also available, I requested it. I didn’t realize the 2 books were from different series until I started reading, but I had no trouble falling into the story because the Rookie Rebels series is a spin off of the Chicago Rebels series. I actually think it was super smart to put this novella up because I liked it so much, I will definitely go back and read the Chicago Rebels series now.

A chance encounter between strangers on adjacent balconies under the cover of darkness turns tantalizingly hot. Addy, who was emboldened by the anonymity, has no intention of seeking out the sexy stranger next door, but Ford can’t get the alluring woman’s voice out of his mind. He puts two and two together and tracks her down. He could care less that she turns out to be his boss’s ex-wife; he can’t get enough of her. He just has to convince her that he’s worth the risk.

I adored Addy and Ford. There was a lovely forbidden vibe to their hookups that went beyond the intensity—which was way high—and the risqué nature of the individual encounters. It was clear from the get-go that Ford not only wanted Addy but accepted her for who she was. I loved that neither seemed able to resist the other, and loved watching them give in to their chemistry and accept their feelings. There was serious passion between the pair! Even the miscommunications made sense, since they were just getting to know one another. The fact that both Addy and Ford were selfless enough to put the other first and try to protect them made the story and their love that much richer.

I generally feel rather lukewarm about novellas, but this is one of the best ones I’ve ever read. Lots of depth, lots of emotion, lots of heat. I absolutely recommend this to everyone!

A great intro to this series!
Somehow I never did read this one and I’m wondering how I missed it. I greatly enjoyed Addison and Ford.
These two are they very definition of insta-love. In fact, it happens without them even seeing each... just from the sounds of there voices.
Romantic, right?
I thought so.

This is a great story and great series which I definitely recommend.

2 meh stars
If you are looking for a quick read, this is good for you.
This book has a lot of sex, not a lot of connection and then the end for me was unrealistic.

Usually I'm a bit weary of reading novellas because they tend to feel rushed, but this one was great. I loved Addy and how unapologetically confident she was. Ford was just the right match for her. "In Skates Trouble" had great characters and was paced just right. A great steamy, quick read, that doesn't sacrifice the character's personality or the believability of the plot. I will definitely look for more books by Kate Meader.

"A dead man's dick would raise the lid of a coffin on hearing that voice of yours."

Confession, I read and loved this series before realizing there was a prequel. After reading In Skates Trouble I'm reminded how much I enjoyed it and am tempted to start over and read it again...sigh.

This story had me in its grip from the first chapter. I was so intrigued by the idea of the couple connected in darkness, hearing but not seeing each other. Their voices created fantasies that had no chance of being as good in the light of day...or did they? They were living in the moment without looking toward the future. But, what if they were to meet again, could there be more between them?

Holy Hotness Batman! I felt like a voyeur hanging out on a hotel balcony eavesdropping, and I'm not even ashamed. I enjoyed every second of it, and then some. I'm a big fan of Kate Meader's Chicago Rebels and it was such a treat to get another taste of them. Her #HockeyHunks have been a favorite of mine and Ford did not disappoint. He had my support from the beginning as he attempted to convince Addison to give him a chance. There were so many obstacles in their way, but they don't call him Killer for nothing, and losing is not a consideration in his rule book.

Sports players can be hyper and immature so when pro-hockey player Ford meets lingerie model Addy, all bets are off. It takes awhile before Addy sees Ford as more than a dumb jock and allows herself to be in a relationship with a player. Lots of drama-filled ups and downs with family as well as a few sensual escapades. At the end of a mountain of whirlwind of events, what happens at the end will only fill your need to read the rest of the books in this series.
