Quick and quirky read sharing the weirdness of relationships.

I liked the humour and illustrations. it's a good little palette cleanser between longer and much darker reads.

I do wish it was longer though as it was a very, very quick read.

*Huge thanks to Brooke Barker, Boaz Frankel, Workman Publishing Company and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own*

BOOK REVIEW: Let's Be Weird Together | A Book About Love by Brooke Barker and Boaz Frankel

This one is actually an illustrated book, which is quite refreshing…. And not for children but for adults!

Based upon those weird, quirky, funny things we often find ourselves doing just because we're falling in love. And I love that concept! It's really quite entertaining.

I received this copy in a digital format because it was a review copy. And I want to give it a second viewing as a hardcover book, as it is intended… Because sometimes the digital format doesn't necessarily work very well for illustrated books, when the illustrations go across two pages.

So if you pick this one up, make sure it's in the hardcover format is what I would recommend…

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This book was okay, not as great as I hoped mostly because it felt like it was all over the place and did not make a lot of sense. A bit too chaotic for myself.

The title is pretty accurate. The book is what you'd expect based on the cover and title. it was just a little TOO all over the place for me. cute illustrations though.

This is a fun, light-hearted look at relationships which manages to be genuinely funny rather than cringy. It would make a great gift for a partner or couple.

Cute little book but it was all over the place. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped. It is a dizzying collection of odd facts and random stories about odd people in love or things that unexpectedly go together. The concept is great but it just seemed to fail in execution. It was too unorganized and some of the facts and anecdotes are just too obscure for me. I think there is something here for those that love odd facts and random information but it just didn’t hold my attention. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

I found this one to be very middle-of-the-road. I would describe my relationship to be weird and I'm part of a weird couple, but not everything here resonated with me. I do think there's something here for everyone, but anyone hoping to find this 100% relatable might want to lower their expectations a tad and just enjoy what *does* resonate with you.

A cute, quick read that helps readers remember and appreciate the weirdness that comes with any relationship. Lots of cute little blurbs about various romances and lovers in history around the world combined with even cuter illustrations make for a fun read.

When I first came across this book I thought this was the book for me and my husband. I pictured myself running up to him and making him look at the cartoon or passage I just read and us laughing together. I consider our relationship to be weird and we lovingly judge each other for it. So reading about another couple who are weird or weirder than us, was very compelling. What similarities did we have with each other, where my husband and I about to find out we are actually boring and normal?

The book was fun and was broken up with history stories and cartoons. All in all, I read it in one sit in and it flowed well. However, after reading it, I felt disappointed. The couple are cute and do do weird things that people do in loving relationships but it felt too much like an inside joke between two people that I was peaking into. I'm sure if I wrote this book with my husband they would be saying the same. The beauty of a weird relationship is that it's between two people and trying to explain it to everyone else means it doesn't quite translate.

With all being said and done, this isn't a bad book. It's a book that you would read if you were in a situation where you forgot your current book and wanted something light to read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an Electronic Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The cute cover grabbed my attention and got me interested in trying this book. But I quickly discovered that I'm not that into reading about couples enjoying their weirdness together. The facts, graphics and information seemed to bounce all over the place with little order, rhyme or reason. Some was mildly interesting but a lot of it (mainly the historic facts) I already knew and the rest just didn't interest me. I applaud the effort and for some people it will be charming but I am not one of those people.

This book is the kind you might give to your partner on Valentine's Day as a quirky gift to celebrate the weirdness about your couple-dom. You might read it while on the toilet. You might place it on your coffee table.

The format is sometimes comic panel, sometimes factoid list about weird couples and the weird things that couples do.

I hoped to be more endeared to some of the ideas within, but I was just kind of bored.

2 stars = it was ok, and the right audience will enjoy it. However, the right audience is a very narrow demographic of couples who consider themselves weird in a romantic sort of way and who'd enjoy spending time with an illustrated factoid/comic panel book.

Brooke and Boaz have created a book on love that is unique, humorous and sweet. We look at inside jokes, interviews, animals, science, etc and they all have their own little comic/illustration to go along with them.

As one half of a weird whole I can relate with what this book is saying. From silly pet name (sexy sir) to strange habits (knowing each other’s thoughts) this book gets us on a deep down personal level.

Love is beautiful, love is kind, love is weird.

This is an adorable little book that celebrates love and all the weird ways couples connect. I like the little stories the authors included, but the drawings are the cutest. They illustrate so many relatable moments in a simple but fun style. I would recommend this happy little book to anyone who loves love!

It's actually prettu cute. Generally, I hate that books are soooo cute, but this one has some parts that I enjoyed a lot, like "The perks of love", but mostly I love how it's presented the aspets of love (the biological part, the weird part, the annoying part, etc.) so, yeah! isn't something I will try to find everyday but a good one to spend the time.

Let'a Be Weird Together is a perfect glimpse into just how strange relationships are and I am a sucker for it!

I've read the couples book sad animal facts and loved the quirkiness that overflowed from the pages. Let's Be Weird Together was even better as it had that autobiographical feel to it.

The illustrations are so cute and I laughed through all of the book!

If you are a sucker for comics about relationships like me then I would definitely recommend Let's Be Weird Together!

Cute and silly book. Wanted a bit more actual weirdness but those newly coupled up love things like this!

I'm a fan of Brooke Barker's Instagram account @sadanimalfacts and was happy to see that she and her partner Boaz Frankel have collaborated on Let's Be Weird Together. This charming look at romantic love and relationships shows us that being weird is more fun when you have someone you can be your authentic weird self with! It was also heartwarming to see an inclusive collection of couples illustrated, because love is love.

This was cute and quirky and I obviously enjoyed it. It was interesting enough, but probably a little too short. I would have loved it to be a little longer. There was some historical elements that I thought were fascinating.

First up thank you for allowing me to read this book. Sadly, despite it being about love and featuring fun illustrations and comics, this one just didn't work for me. I was quickly bored. I didn't really care about the history stuff that popped up at times, yes it fit the theme (love/romance/finding the one).

This is an adorable book that will speak to those who are “weird” and managed to find someone else just as “weird” as them. It definitely reminded me of my own relationship! Remember: normal is overrated.
