As you all probably know by now I'm going through a period of time where I really enjoy books about emotional growth, self-help, shadow work or whatever else you want to call it.  They just really seem to be speaking to me recently, so I was excited to give this book a try when I received it from NetGalley.

Sometimes I can really get a lot from these books, and sometimes I just can't. Sadly this was one such book that I couldn't get into.  From the beginning the language and writing style just felt really fake to me. Like the author was using all of the ''right'' words for the genre, but the meaning behind them lacked depth.   And as much as I really do want to connect better with my emotions, I just couldn't look past the bullshit to something that would mean more.

The drawings in this book were really pretty, and that's probably the only positive thing I have to say. I didn't finish the book because I never connected with the connect. In the end I gave As You Feel, So You Heal two stars on Goodreads. Maybe others will have better luck with it than me.

This book is very well thought out and purposeful. It helps you to look at your emotions, what happened in your life, and guide you to self acceptance. I enjoyed the meditations, and the illustrations were beautiful.

I feel like this is a good start for those taking a newfound interest in self-love, self-discovery & personal healing.

It offers reminders that we all too often forget however a lot of these are cliche or overdone ineffectively.

I enjoyed some of the artwork & agreed with a lot that the author had to say, I just didn’t think they said much that was new.

Donna DeNomme, a life coach, has written a lovely book for those looking to begin an inner journey into oneself. The book is well written and well thought out. I definitely recommend this book. Plus the illustrations are beautiful.

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

A lovely, elegant book for anyone who wants to embark on an inner journey of knowing themselves on a deeper level. Even just pondering the questions and writing prompts will be valuable. The illustrations are lovely and the book is gentle and inviting.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was honestly disappointed in this book. It's nothing like the description. I found myself growing bored with all the long explanations of technical stuff. I was unable to even read it all.

Very sweet and interesting read. I was happy to see that most of what was discussed in this book has been said to me by my yoga teacher/reiki instructor! Deep dive into ideas floating around the spiritualists right now.

This is a lovely book full of inspiring stories, journal prompts, and healing meditations. It is hugely beneficial even without doing any of the writing as you go a long. Just reading it has a healing and soothing effect. The author has a great writing style, so easy to read, and the beautiful illustrations by artist Sue Lion make the book even more enjoyable and inspiring. I loved this book and will definitely be reading it again. Thank you

Life Coach DeNomme has penned a wise guide to emotional and spiritual healing. It starts: “You’ve been drawn to AS YOU FEEL, SO YOU HEAL for a reason. There is something within you that yearns to be seen, to be heard, and to be felt.” It uses journaling prompts and meditation to unearth and heal stuck feelings, with illuminating quotes, stories and illustrations to underscore lessons learned. Highly recommended!
